Ya,ya - I know its a little too soon to be deciding which schools to apply to in light of the fact we've yet to receive our test score, but where does everyone think they'd like to end up?
Peace

well, I tell you where I'm applying, take note that i have misdemeanor so I'm doing more than I would normally to take that into account in case medschools reject me cuz of it

Yale, JHU, Columbia, U PENN , Baylor, U of MI

U of chicago, Northwestern, cornell, vanderbilt, case W. reserve, Rush, Emory, NYU , U of Wi, U Pitt

Tufts, U of Iowa, Georgetown, UIC, Boston U, U of Rochester, Rush,

My dream is to go to one on the top two brackets, but in the end I just want to go to med school, hope i get in somewhere, I'm an IL resident too

i took it the august after my sophomore year, so i have a pretty good idea as to where im applying:
MCW, Madison, Duke, NWU, WashU, Vandy, HMS, JHU, SLU, Uchicago, Stanford, and maybe UCSD--all MSTP.

I want to go to either Hopkins, UPenn, or Cornell. I will probably also apply to a combination of either GWU, Pitt, Howard, or Mt. Sinai to round out my applications.

Thanks to SDN's most addicted poster, DRA Foxy, and the advice she gave on applying to a range of schools I'm ending up with a tab of around,600 smackers, YUK. There's variety in your eye. Any how some of the schools I think I'm gonna apply to are similar to you above posters: Penn,Yale,Columbia,UMich - Arizona,Tulane,GW,Prtizker,Finch,AE,NYMC,SLU,PSU, OHSU,DMS and I think that I'll stop there...
Can I tell you how tempted I am just to go with the first acceptance [hopefully] and call it good. This process is friggin' nuts!!!!!

I'm going to apply to these schools for sure, and some others that I haven't decided on yet:

UCLA - top choice, UCSF, UCSD, UCI, UCD, Stanfurd (hehe), USC

the others ones will depend on my MCAT score...

with the exception of Jameson....where are all of your "safety" schools? don't make that mistake...please!

I'm applying to all eight of the Texas Schools: Southwestern, Baylor, UT Houston, UT San Antonio, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, TCOM, and UTMB. Since all of them are on the separate Texas App with only Baylor on AMCAS, I think I might apply to a few other national schools as well to see where I stand, but most likely I'll stay in Texas.

I would absolutely love to be able to go to hopkins. but for now i must wait for that darn little mcat score to inform me if i have any hopes of being competitive. As for the others, I havent completely decided, but probably emory, vanderbuilt, baylor, harvard. The number of top schools will probably be editted once I get my scores back, but right now I will hope for the best! I havent really made the list of backup schools yet. Obviously, I will be applying to my instate (Louisiana) schools, but other than that I don't know. Where are some good places for someone who is interested in research, but doesn't want to do MSTP?

NorthWestern is researchy i hear....
So is U-Dub...(hard to get in if you're not a resident) but it also has a strong clinical program.

my "safety" schools: mcp, nymc, university of vermont

my "semi-safe" schools: loyola, tulane, bu, wake forest

uc's: ucla, ucsf, ucd, ucsd

schools i will hopefully be competitive at: georgetown, northwestern, dartmouth, pittsburgh, ohsu, uva, vanderbilt, mayo

reach schools: duke, stanford, harvard

pheww!!! that's a lot. i'm trying to cut down but am not sure how.

This is the part of AMCAS I am working on now!

Here is my tentative list:
Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Duke University School of Medicine
Eastern Virginia Medical School
Emory University School of Medicine
George Washington University Sch
Georgetown University School of Medicine

University of California San Diego

my schools are pretty much everywhere. Schools I'm super comptetive at, I'm going with UIC, RUSH, UW-madison (my alma matter). But then instead of applying to schools that I woulnd't like, I just chose 20 other really "good" schools that I'd love to go to. I figure, the extra number should compensate for me not having many "reserve" schools.

My list:
Ohio State University
Wright State University
Case Western Reserve University
NEOUCOM
Medical College of Ohio
University of Cincinnati
Ohio University College of Medicine

Ohio show me some love!!!
