Hello everyone.
Im a community college student.
A VERY EXTREME NON TRADITIONAL ONE. Im considering applying without a bachelors degree. (although just in case im planning on going to A&M either way to go ahead and get a bachelors degree in POLY SCI) i wanted to know, what do u all think my chances are going in without a bachelors??

Im a sophomore right now, and Ive been planning this out since early senior year. So far things have rolled in the right direction.
i know u guys aren't the adcom but ur input would be great.
Stats:
Overall GPA: 3.76
Science GPA: roughly 3.625 it will drop after ochem2 probably.
Pre Allied Health Professions Organization president. (the only plus)
Academic organizations.
Presidents List.
a couple of awards.
90 hour internship at a dental clinic.
good faculty recs. and proffesional rec.
i dont really have a "story", just financial difficulty.
DAT: havent taken it. but im guessing ill hit national avg. and below avg in math. HOPEFULLY BETTER.

should i bother?...or wait until a bachelors?

Baylor Dental
UT san antonio
UT houston
NYU (extreme reach school)
New Jersey Dental
also: do u know of any schools that will consider early applicants like me SERIOUSLY? Ive already spoke with dentists who have gotten in early at some schools w/o a bachelors . but they attended a university for 2 yrs. (again, i go to community!).

Too early to tell. After you get your prereq grades and DAT scores back, you will be able to make a decision.

NYU by the way would actually be your "safety" school, not a "reach" school. NYU is a private school and does not have state preferences, the GPA and DAT score requirements are "middle of the pack," and every year they admit 200+ students.

UMDNJ would be your "reach" school because you don't live in New Jersey. They give priority to NJ residents first and foremost.

If I was in your shoes I would consider applying to more private schools.

You might also contact the dental schools you are thinking of applying to and ask them if courses taken at community colleges would be acceptable for fulfilling your prerequisites.

Good luck.

i recall reading that adcoms will not consider community college science credits for admission to dental school. snobbishness, yes. i suggest calling the schools you are interested in, perhaps i'm wrong (i hope so).
