On the next page it keeps saying I have completed graduate classes and need to fill in names for those recommenders. The thing is, I haven't. Is this a general bug everyone's getting, or is there some mistake in my file I need to rectify?

yep me too. i just put in "have not completed Grad. courses" and then put N/A for all the slots except for credit hrs. where i put in 0. it accepted that.

Hi, I was filling out the NY Medical secondary app earlier online, and ran into the same problem with the "grad" part. The form was actually giving me grief about what I entered into the "optional" section, too, as both of my reccommenders were not college-associated. At any rate, someone already answered this question, but here's an official response from NYMC:

In order to bypass the graduate school information page, you must enter ?not applicable? under all graduate school required fields and you must enter ?0? in credits earned and ?0? for course number.

DrThom, are you reapplying or did you just make a mdapplicant profile? cause when i saw the rejected pre-secondary part i kinda got scarred....if you had to reapply with your stats i might as well just drop dead now 😕
 
Am I the only one who didnt have any troubles with the NYMC? I just filled in the name of my pre-med committee and that was it pretty much. I do get the feeling that that $100 is going to be wasted... oh well...

I'm the earlier poster who got the Dartmouth secondary. It actually came via snail mail. It's not too bad. Just one essay: "Please share with us something about yourself that is not addressed elsewhere in your application and which could be helpful to the Admissions Committee as we review your file."

MDapplicant profiles are messed up..just take off the word rejected... those are the schools DrTHom is applying to now, and the status of his/her secondaries.. my profile says the same thing b/c the site was intended for folks who had already matriculated at a medical school. soooo..for those of us who are applying..disregard the word "rejected" in front of all those categories.... 👍
 
I was wondering if anyone else had received the U of Wisconsin's secondary? I am a wisconsin resident and i have not received it, so i am starting to get worried :scared:

You are denied. They give auto instate interviews unless you dont meet the lower limits...7 7 8, 3.0 or something like that. Don't worry, they moved buildings and will be a little slow this year. I suggest starting on your "why do you want to be a doc" essay.
 
Ok, I am neurotic but I can't help it. Anyone else NOT hear from Northwestern today? Are you sure they aren't screening? Maybe they send those emails over a period of a few days, which is why I haven't heard anything yet?

U of Vermont has come my way though. Does anyone know if they are a screening school? Somehow it feels like I am getting more rejection from the non-screening schools than from the screeners...

So, have you already received their secondary?? or is it only a select few who have?
 
anyone wanna be the bearer of bad news and break it to me that if i haven't gotten a UPitt or USC secondary by now, i'm probably not going to? I'm still trying to cling onto a thread of hope....

i also haven't heard from northwestern. i am guessing, potentially, that they will send it to us (hopefully, praying) next week after they receive the first batch.
regardless, i am going to call them tomorrow AM and ask if they screen.

I didn't have any problem with the secondary either. I only had my committe letter to type in, otherwise I left all the others blank, I didn't even type in N/A, and it's not in the instructions.....sooooo......why are you guys typing that in there? Is there some secret instruction I don't know about?

No I haven't, but we all will, unless your app looks really bad.
 
Um, I also got the email...but I def. didn't get a secondary...and I don't see how the secondary would take 10 minutes unless they got rid of the handwritten essay that they've required since 1838...but hey...who knows...maybe I'm wrong...I just go to VCU undergrad 🙄

Don't be worried at all. I was and I called them, and they said to just fill out the online form. Later that day the brochure came in the regular mail. It's just a shinier version of what's on their website.

To those interested in the Mayo process....Mayo sends a request for $ to ALL individuals that applied to Mayo via AMCAS and this is NOT a secondary. They will then (after receiving the $) proceed to screen your AMCAS and THEN some applicants will receive a secondary which is a phone interview. After that some of those will be invited for interviews here at Mayo. Good luck!
 
What's up with the NU deadlines, and the essays, I feel like I'm in my english lit class all over again. Oh...and it's just great how my committee letter won't be ready until AFTER my NU deadline.
