Hey guys,

I've been meaning to post for a while but work is insane so Ive just been idling by...GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE APPLICANTS FOR THE CLASS OF '09...i hope we all get this 🙂

Anyway, so I've completed secondaries for UVa, Columbia, Hopkins, Yale, Penn and Rochester...and am working on Case. I started theirs before I got the email (and went to the site) and I got an email from them last night (I had started yesterday) so maybe they're just waiting for people to initiate it on their own...

Waiting on Duke and Vandy (groan...prob won't get anything from them), VCU/MCV, Emory and Mt. Sinai...but I did talk to Mt. Sinai today and they said that secondaries won't be out till AUGUST at the earliest...so all u sinai fans will have to wait a while...but if u email em they might offer to let u be a "tester" for their secondary (they did offer it to me and I accepted) so that could speed up the process a little...plus look nice in general to the Ad Com 🙂

I'll prolly see you on the interview circuit!! I've also completed my secondaries for Columbia, Hopkins, UVA,Yale, and a few others.. waiting on (screeners) Duke, Wake Forest, UNC, NYU, and Vandy and also (non-screeners) Emory, UMD, and Harvard.. called emory today and they said secondaries will be out around Aug 1. Harvard said the end of this month sooo...i think i may have a week to chill. do you or anyone have any idea when screeners will start sending secondaries??? And for the Boston person, I just randomly got the secondary invite on saturday via snail mail and they only ask for a check, nothing else.. ($100), but i do know that they don't screen so you just have to be patient...it was the same for me with Hopkins.. though i had already submitted. i didn't get their snail mail packet until today and most had it last week...keep hope alive??

Yeah man, I'm seriously on the same boat. I don't remember whether or not I paid the correct amounts to each school. I might've even done 70 dollars for Creighton instead of 75... Either way I feel like George Steinbrenner writing all these checks.

Ya'll could call the schools in a few days-weeks and ask if they received your fee. I sent a check to all my schools so i'd know that when it clears, my stuff has been received/processed. PLUS,..when your app is complete at columbia i think it says so on the site.

yeah..i just made an excel sheet..less space and easy to update print up compare, etc. i'm doing pretty well on them though just waiting and waiting..

I heard that Harvard's is not too complicated, mainly just the check. UMD's I was looking at the questions on that other thread started by davincicode, and it looked pretty standard (describe research, etc etc). I'm also waiting for NYU. I heard MSSM is not going to be sending them out until August, and Tufts says on their website August. Drexel I'm not sure when they're sending info out. Those are the ones I'm waiting for, but I guess I'll be waiting for quite a while!

I have sent a check to OU since they dont have a secondary, and sent in the einstein application, but the others i have received I may just put off til after the august mcat. I'll prolly send GW and Temple's secondaries by next week, but then ill take a break. Do you think itll be too late if I send the rest of the secondaries (like 8 or so more) in mid August? I just want to focus on the mcat, and not pay too much attention to those essays.

Definitely send the easy ones (with check only, like UPenn, Einstein, etc.) right away, because they won't take much time. For the longer ones, I'm sure a lot of people will be doing what you are doing. If you can crack a few, it will only help but like the above poster said, MCAT is most important.

I was just processed yesterday, and received Uconn's secondary via e-mail. And I thought Pritzker's was not going to be fun. 6 essays is just a pain in the a$$ (3 typewritten pages max in 10 pt font). I know it doesn't compare to Rush, but still time consuming.

Also, for those who have received access to Cornell's secondary, whats the consensus on its length?

6 secondaries done and paid for, still waiting on 7 schools: case western, upitt (both of those are starting to piss me off as many people got there stuff last week), vandy, northwestern, mayo (i've sent in the check, though), wake forest, and dartmouth.

vandy will probably take a while, as they only do secondaries to the peeps they're gonna interview.
i think northwestern's a screener (but don't quote me on that), so they'll probably take me a while, seeing as only like 2-3 screening schools have sent secondaries yet.
