case online payment is down 🙁 , now i have to either wait to pay or mail teh check....credit payment is so easy, and doesnt hurt the wallet until later.... 🙁
 
katie, you might as well just find the link on sdn and start....i havent gotten an email saying i could start, but all my info was there when i went to login
 
actually, i don't know of more than one or two people who have gotten the case secondary. just go to their site and start on your own like the rest of us neurotic basketcases.👍

I haven't gotten my case secondary either, and I was under the impression that they don't screen before secondaries. Weird. I went to login anyway and there's no info for me. Double weird.

I'm also waiting on 1 other secondary that doesn't seem to screen (cornell??) (plus 3 more no one has gotten yet, so no sweat on those). I got a whole bunch quickly, but now I've reached a bit of a lull. I'm starting to worry, 'cause my stats are pretty good (no reason to get thrown away at this stage at least), and my AMCAS was processed on 6/24. What do you think? Wait it out, or start begging?
 
For those who didn't wait for the invite to case, did you just do password retrieval? If so, I can't get it.

did you chose the "get id" option? just enter your amcas id and ss#. they'll email you the password
 
Yeah, I chose the password retrieval option over the login, if that's what you mean. I typed in my password, ssn, and amcas # and it says unable to retrieve password, so is there another place I should try?
 
For those applying to EVMS, this is probably stupid, but should I attach 2 different pictures, or 2 of the same? Just seemed bizarre to send 2 of the same pictures. :idea:
 
Yay! Just finished Northwestern! Sorry, had to share my joy, I'm really ripping through these babies this week. On to Dartmouth and Wake....tomorrow 😴

when were you processed? maybe they havent downloaded your stuff....

I typed in my password.... was this a typo, cause your supposed to leave that blank
 
I meant e-mail not password and I was processed long ago.
 
ohhh, i dont know then, it should work! maybe call then....sorry it didnt work.

I gave them two of the same. I think either would be fine.
 
Anyone still having trouble accessing Brown's secondary? Their server was supposed to be fixed yesterday, so it could just be my computer.

im sending 2 of the same one -- i figure they have like 2 files to attach it to or something.
 
EVMS is driving me nuts....I'm in-state and NO freaking Secondary??? Those who got the EVMS secondary, do you mind sharing your stats? Or you can PM me if you prefer.

Tufts secondary is up. It is very easy! But you can't send it in until you receive an email from them.
 
Does anyone know how the schools are dealing with rejection letters....as in will they be by e-mail or snail mail??

I got EVMS last week. I'm also in-state, stats not good, submitted AMCAS June 9. I believe they send them out in waves weekly. I was freaking out because my roommate heard a week before I did. But then I got it, and it was all good. So have no fear, I'm sure you will hear soon.

I'm not sure how it works with med school, but when I applied jr. honors, I got a nice email with an attachment called "rejectionletter.doc" :laugh: those bastards...

im out of state and just got it yesterday. non-fantastic stats, so im sure its not related to that. it is avail. online though, so you can look it up and do it so when you get the email you can send it right out. once you get it you have 30 days. good luck!
 
Just got UW-Seattle's. Even though I wasn't that worried being an in state resident and all it's still nice. Now if Case would just respond....
 
For Case: Hi, yes I got my secondary a while ago; however, I lived with two other people and we all submitted amcas within an hour and one got his this past sat night and the other still hasn't gotten hers (and she probably has some of the highest numbers out there period). so we like to think they are going alphabetically or its just plain random-so don't stress! besides, they want it in two weeks so its nice to get it a little later than all the others. =)

I just tried to submit and it's not working..."software anomaly" or something. So now I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to re-submit and risk the double payment or something. Anyone figure this problem out?

I kept trying yesterday and got that message over and over. This morning, I tried again and it went through and gave me a confirmation page. I got an email from their office today saying that my credit card had been charged 12 times and that they would be refunding me the additional charges. So if you get the anomaly message, most likely your secondary is submitted. I would call to check and be safe.

I hope they see my persistence as interest in NYU 😀

know there are some posts already, but SERIOUSLY what is up with hopkins and columbia. I have yet to receive invitations from either one of them, while I have received invites from most of the other schools i have received.

seems like to me that alot of you have received an official Hopkins and Columbia invite. know they supposedly dont screen, but what the heck, itd be nice to have something that says "here is our sec, please fill out"

AHHHHH! Maybe i will give them a call and see whats up

In an attempt to ease your nerves, I don't think anyone has received an official Columbia invite. I think when there was clamoring about receiving an email from them a while back, that was because once you start filling out the secondary, you get a note from them saying "We appreciate your application, blah blah blah...", but it wasn't an official invite. As for Hopkins, you could call and check with them to make sure they've received your AMCAS I guess. The packet they sent was a brochure about the school with a letter saying they got the AMCAS and were ready for the secondary. Hope that calms ya a bit! I know I get pretty darn nervous about these things (which is why I shouldn't be visiting this site!).

For UVA, the first question is (I am paraphrasing here!) "Why UVA", the second question is "Where do you see yourself in 10 years", and the third one is "What do you think will be the greatest personal challenge you will face as a physician".
 
For VCU everyone seems to be saying that they got e-mails. Anyone get a letter??? I got snail mail from them yesterday saying they recieved my AMCAS. For those of you that have already heard from VCU, how long was it between your notification of receipt letter to when you recieved your secondary? Thanks!

Still waiting on Emory, Harvard, Duke, UNC, and Vandy...ho hum..oh yeah and UMD.. wish this process would hurry itself up..when i'm in limbo like this i get hella apathetic and un-inspired to deal with it.... 😴

yeah, i'm still waiting on Columbia, Tufts, Duke, Mt. Sinai, Stanford, and Harvard. of these, I think only Duke screens. waiting still sucks though.

Odd. I got that email back on the 22nd. So I check online to see my status, and they say I'll be told in 1-2 weeks whether or not to fill out a secondary. So, a week later, nothing so far:

Your application will be reviewed by a subcommittee. Decisions are made at that point as to which candidates will be granted a supplemental application from us. It has always been our committee?s policy to grant supplemental applications only to those candidates who are deemed competitive within our applicant pool.

It usually takes 7-14 days after the receipt of your application from AMCAS to complete the initial review of your application. Thank you for your interest in our school and best of luck with the application process.

umm yeah..don't wait on columbia.. i am pretty sure they're not sending invites for a while, but their website gives the link to start filling it out which you can do as sson as you have an AAMC #. It is from a link on the page under admissions located here:

Get a head start b/c a LOT of people have already filled it out and submitted it!

Since Columbia is not rolling, I wouldn't worry about submitting it asap though.

Yay! I got a UCSD secondary invite by email today! This is my alma mater and they rejected me pre-secondary last year, so I'm very excited! Another chance to stay in CA!

BTW, the secondary is scary right off the bat: "AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH"
Limit to two pages only..." :scared:

Woohoo, got the EVMS secondary invite today. Finally got past 1 school's pre-screening even with a crappy MCAT score. I'll be takign the MCAT again so, I'm pretty pleased that they asked me to fill it out with such a low score.
