What character quota are you talking about? You mind elaborate it? I just created an online application and my aadsas id is: 2006021260#. The new sequence they are using for the id is a little longer than the previous cycle and it doesnt seems to be in sequential order. My previous year id was 200506596.

Can someone explain the 2006021260# (bold and underlined) part in the new application id?

I'm done with the application!!!

hows that for applying early?

sorry...referring to the personal statement character limit.
i succesfully pasted my statement as a trial in last year's app a few months ago. no errors. it was based on 6000 characters.

this cycle it's been decresed by 1500 characters, as i recently tried pasting mine in. doh! guess they see more slang, more contractions, and less shift-f7 to be trendier as the years go by.

???!!?! NOoo!1 yOu can't! YOU MUST FINISH IT IN ONE SITTING! Oh and AADSAS times you. If you don't fill out everything in one session and under 17.5 seconds the AADSAS stormtroopers jump out of your monitor and rock your face. [/sarcasm]

Doesn't matter, just start your acct, get the transcript form, and life goes on.

Yes the new personal statement is down to 4500 characters. I didn't even have close to 1,000 words yesterday, and now i'm trying to make huge last minute cuts. ouch!

That's your application number. That number means there have already been 21,260 applicants TODAY!!! 😱 Oh freak freak freak! This is gonna be a VERY competitive cycle! :scared: :scared: :scared:

My GPA is 3.99 and I only scored a 25 on the DAT. Will this cut it? :scared:

Comet208 - you seem to be knowledgable on this topic - would you mind posting the relevant information on the post titled 'hot, gay applicant accepted with 2.8 gpa', (the thread is actually about essay words/characters)

Thank you

I still can't find out the LOR matching form, any suggestions? 😛

Don't worry about letters of recommendations YET

because they do not have to be sent in right away

I think AADSAS purposly did not provide them - because they'd much rather those be sent a week or two after the online application is sent

Hope this helps

Oh well,
But the thing is the week is my final week
I can only give the LOR matching forms to my evalutors this week
Otherwise I have to mail them the form, which put them and me in troubles 😱
Is it ok to just attach the forms outside of the envelops? 😛

Yes get the letters now, have them write thier signatures across the seal and then just attach a mathcing form to the outside of the envelopes. Put them all in one big envelope and send them off.

hey guys..

Under the "awards/Honors/Scholarships" section of the application.. are these supposed to be strictly academic? Or can i list an award I got related to athletics?

Any suggestions?

OMG OMG OMG THE APPLICATION OUT! Can't breath!

if they're bonafide great athletic accomplishments... like NCAA Div-1 titles, olympic recognitions, etc.

If they're stupid **** like "most improved" on your volleyball team, pass.

btw, they're not really going to care about that box overall... if you've got superb stuff it'll help out your application, otherwise it's going to be a non-factor when it comes to your interviews.

Most of my awards if not all are recognition awards from some high up people are these good to have?

P.s it says recongition of achievement and time and blah blah blah so i was wondering if this is weak. Thanks please reply

Character quota probably refers to the personal essay. As discussed ad nauseum in other threads AADSAS's software doesn't actually count the number of words in your personal essay but rather the number of characters used (i.e. the individual letters). Thus it seems they are making applicants write shorters statements.

In regards to your AADSAS id, 2006 refers to the application cycle (2006) and the bold numbers refer to the number of applications they have already received thus far. Just kidding.. As I recall AADSAS assigns an official number once you submit your application and that number follows as 2006****, where * is your particular number and place in line. For example, I was 200500491, meaning that I was the 491st person to submit the application. If you have already paid your fee and submitted your application then I would guess that they have changed their numbering system, but from your post I don't think you have. Regardless, don't worry about your number. I know everyone is stressed out about the whole application thing, but trust me, you are super early and have nothing to worry about from that standpoint.

Oh man. I can feel the stress in this thread. Remind me of the good old days when I was doing AADSAS, good luck to you all. I suggest you all to fill in the application on a daily basis and then reward yourself afterwards. The whole application cycle is strenuous and taxing.

Oh man, I despise AADSAS. My personal statement is shaved from 53XXX something characters to 4700 and I cannot do anymore shaving without taking some of the effect out! GRRR! On the plus side, the fluff is out and it actually sounds better...but anymore out will cost me! GODDARN AADSAS!

im trying to send my e-payment it keeps logging me off..anyone having the same problem?

Hey guys,

Just chill, patience is a virtue. Would u rather take ur time and fill the application or screw it up and wait for 3 months to recieve an update. 👍

I say it is better to have "most improved" on your volleyball team than to have nothing.

I can't agree more! If you turn in anytime within the next thirty days, you are still way ahead of the pack.
