I am very new to this website and therefore I am freaking out. I see everyones stats, and it seems that either they are lying or trying to get others scared. If people cant get in with a science gpa of 3.4 then there is something else wrong.
I am applying to 30 schools, mainly because I am honeslty scared of not getting in. I do have a high overall gpa (3.5) and a fair science gpa (2.9-3.0) I havent taken the DAT yet (June) and that is the reason I am applying to so many schools. To anyone out there who actually knows what they are talking about.... please let me know what you think, do I have any chance whatsoever, or and I wasting $ by even applying at all???
I have volunteer exp., more then imaginable and have worked for numerous foundations throughout my college life.
please give me so uselful information, anything is useful at this point...
god bless

I am sorry... but I have to say to any of you out there who are worried by looking at this thread DONT WORRY! If you look at the average student getting accepted in Dental School THESE GUYS/GALS ARE NOT THEM... THEY ARE THE VERY VERY VERY SMALL MINORITY. .1percent. This thread is useless to those of us who are normal 3.3gpa 19-20 DAT scorers. Props to you all who score higher-enjoy columbia and harvard! But the rest of you DONT WORRY!

My stats

hey cl24uw06! wow nice stats so far, assuming you've put as much energy into studying for DATS as you have every other part of your app, you will most likely be fine. I bet even with higher "teen" scores you would get in..you a WA resident? even better!

I have, but I really want to see if I can get in without it. With a 17/17/17 I hope that someone will see that I am a well-rounded student. I have done everything else above and beyond. My sister has an interview at San Antonio Aug 8 and her stats on the DAT were 18/18/15. Her GPA is around 3.8 for both Science and non-Science, so I figure we are practically the same candidate, she just got her application in before I did.

Anyone else think I have a chance w/o taking the DAT again??

I'd def consider taking it again. Average scores dont seem to be good enough these days. But contact the schools you're applying to about it...

Guys, I know my GPA and DAT scores look good, but I'm really uncomfortable w/ my extracurriculars. I never was a committee member of any clubs, and didn't do much outsdie of school. I feel like I need to do something, but don't know what to do. By the way, my RC was 18, because English is my second language. I don't know how hard they'll take it.
I need some advise, please :)

If English is your second language, that's some nasty GPA you got there. So is the DAT.
