2006 Match!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Thanks for the kind words and congrats to you too beary.

And besides Michigan can kick UVA's but in football and basketball. I am happy to be going to a Div 1 school to see some good sports.

Thanks kaw - you rock. 👍

You're right about Michigan sports. But I bleed Husker red. This may be a problem.

SDN is now 1 for 3 at UVA. I will be at UVM. I had one of those 'it's meant to be moments' as I was driving in to school today. I'm a long ways from Vermont, but today on campus I saw a car pulling into the parking garage with a Vermont license plate so I took that as my sign. I hope it is working out well for everyone.

Congrats to Emaline and Kabosh. Its an awesome program with some cool residents 😀 I'm at the end of my 3rd year at UVM and look forward to seeing you guys.

What's up, UVA class of 2010!!!!!
We're absolutely thrilled to have you guys, knowing that there were a lot of fabulous candidates out there this year (that means you, beary).
Without dampening your resumes, I just want to offer as a consolation that out of the 5 candidates we took this year, two are actually from here and had extensive interactions with the staff and two others came here for away rotations. In the end, I think the faculty just ended up ranking "known quantities" high. Partially because they were in fact all really great candidates and partially because we're losing one of our residents from this year who seemed like a good candidate but was not really cut out to do an academic residency at this time.
Anyway, congratulations to everybody, and good luck with your house shopping, relocating, metamorphosis into interning. 🙂

Congratualations to all on landing some extremely good residencies. Lots of hard work ahead for y'guys, but you're well on the way to become exxellent pathologists.

So, when will you begin to think about where to apply for fellowship? 😉

~ but I lurk quite often:

I'm off to Memphis! For many and varied reasons, I couldn't be happier!

😉 Sorry to join the party so late. Finishing up my sub-i also.
Its off to Danbury for me.
I know it isn't the most heralded program in the coountry but I'm in and happy to be joining y'all.
Congatulations to everybody and, like kaw's statements I'm not sure I'd be were I am without y'alls help.
👍 heres to us. (I never thought 32ozs of 8ball could go so fast) 😀

congrats man! Danbury was/is a very nice program in my estimation (had it on my short list of possible places and would have been very happy to end up there had the cards fallen that way).

are you going to take the housing that they offer?

great place!

Thanks weaseldom. I really liked it there. I think it will carry over b/c everyone seemed very genuine
No I'm going to take the stipend b/c I wasn't really sure what the housing was like as far as size and I have a wife and two children I have to squeeze in. We consulted some of our family about rents (EXXXXPENSIVE) and schools and stuff and decided to try to make the stipend work. 😉
Where are you headed?

SORRY!
Memphis sounds great. 😳
I didn't apply there b/c I have no family in the area.
Again, sorry I missed that. Good Luck.
