i recieved an invite for an interview, the process is two days (sun & mon or thu & fri) I still haven't decided on the dates sept. 18 I recall was the first date.

i've got an interview sept. 11/12.
 
i think the first day is a dinner or some sort....

Day 1 you have an informal meeting with some students. They are evaluating you however so just remember that. Day 2 is the tour, interview (2 30 minute ones with different people) and then shadowing jr/sr in the afternoon. Anyone applying feel free to email me with questions.

hey thanks. I should be good for at least half of it, because I've already taken the tour and met with several of the 2008 class students.
 
so i'm a little late, I haven't really sent out my LORs yet and Just submitted my application How long should I expect to wait. Better yet can I interview W/out LORs. Thanks Fellow Georgians who are undoubtedly the biggest Bad-A's in the US.

i agree with your assessment of ga. folks. they're pretty much my favorite.
i sent my app in and they sent me an invite about two weeks later. with your stats they should definitely interview you IMO. i hear they also allow they're best interviewers a free ride on the local camel. i don't know if you can interview w/out LOR's though. i'd grease some palms and get those in fast.

I had to wait a solid month to month and a half before i got the invite.
 
Finally, an interview.

I kinda got suspicious because I called last week and Mrs. Perry told me I might want to go ahead and send a transcript in to be prepared since I'm taking the DAT again on the 27th. I didn't wanna jinx it so I didn't think about the possibility of an interview.

Mine is scheduled for September 29-30th. Anyone else with that date?
 
How did you all send the picture? in just an envelope? Do i have to? i don't want to have an unfair advantage... just playing.

Yea when I spoke with Stephanie Perry she told me to go ahead and send in transcripts and a photo, and I hadn't even applied yet. But the site says transcripts are not necessary until you get an interview... so i dunno. For the photo, just get a 2x2 photo of yourself, put in an envelope, address is found on the site where it gives you application instructions. Your application is not considered complete until they recieve your photo so do that asap. Still waiting on that interview... 🙄

Just curious.. do they contact you for an interview in a letter? If so, is it just a regular size envelope? Yea I know stupid question, I just wanna know what to look for 😀 :scared:
 
Not sure if they sent me anything in the mail as I've been in school. I was notified by e-mail.
 
I got an interview on Oct. 27 & 28, thursday and friday. Anyone else?
 
For anyone willing to post, has anyone gotten a rejection letter from MCG yet? I just havnt heard anything yet and want to get a feel for what they're doing. Thanks!

Since i was interviewed i have been informed through email that the last day for interviews before they start sending out acceptances is nov. 21st...so if you don't get an interview before then....hope and pray they dont fill their class before then...good luck

what is MCG
 
MCG is the Medical College of Georgia. I feel for you guys because the applicant pool has definitely become more competitive since I started. Best of luck to all of you. :luck:

I wouldn't say that you will never get an interview....it says its the last interviews before the acceptances go out...maybe they will wait to hand out the last third of acceptances or so until they analyze more applications and/or give out some more interviews to see more options.....but then again, they could fill them all...they wouldn't say that in the email though...i would call them and ask...see what you get out of them...also, a lot of these people will not take their acceptances.
 
When i interviewed they said that like 10-15 people last year didn't accept their acceptance...er, decided not to go there. i think they said they sent out around 75 acceptance letters to fill the 62 slots or whatever the number is. as a side note, did any of ya'll interview anywhere else and how do you think mcg compared to other schools?

hey dr. tacoelf... just out of curiosity, why mgc over UAB? i interviewed at both and really liked uab over mcg, but then again it's hard to really tell which one i would like over a four year period. i've heard that at mcg alot of the prof's are ex-military and treat you like you're in a boot camp. any truth to that?

I received email from MCG saying that they should send their acceptance letters early December. I, also, heard that MCG has already sent several rejection emails.

MCG has sent out more than several rejections. They sent out a load. Unfortunately, I received one of them. If you have not been scheduled for an interview....today is the LAST day of interviews. So, if you have not received a rejection email yet, go check your SPAM folder.

Cannot believe I spent all this money on post-grad classes, Kaplan course, DAT, time off from work for shadowing, and I get rejected via email. That is an awesome feeling!

The very best of luck to those of you awaiting your acceptance letters! I am very jealous!!!!
 
Out of curiosity... Those who got rejected via email, did you get interviews? Also, did you get the email a few weeks ago about them sending out acceptences soon after Dec. 1? Thanks.
 
Yea I felt like a million bucks when I received a rejection EMAIL. I too have spent $$$$ over the past year improving my app, yet its still not good enough. I'm gonna make an appointment for Jan to speak with someone in admissions and find out what I need to do.....
