Last time I posted 7 clovers I got in two schools in 1 week, here's hoping...
Em1 said:Any guesses on when we'll hear the results of Wednesday's Wake meeting?
jwnduke said:Anyone heard from UNC yet? Although, I guess when one gets a great call like that it might not be one's highest priority to post on here, so, nevermind.
nimotsu said:Looks like it's going to be a silent night... maybe someone will get a letter.
And it's Martin Luther King Day next Monday...this is the only time I wish I wasn't actually out of school b/c adcom might not meet. .
jwnduke said:Ha ha, that is funny, I did not think of it like that but yeah, they will not meet next week! I too wish we would not be out of school!
Shahab, I will post on here very soon after the 'miracle call'.
I can't believe how neurotic I have become.
BOBODR said:Duke did you ever get the DND letter?
jwnduke said:No, I never did get the DND letter. Did you?
Congrats UNC-or-Bust!
AlanAlan said:hey all,
I got accepted to east carolina today (interviewed 11-14). Its my first acceptance and I am definitly excited. Ive already interviewed at George washington and Georgetown and I have interiews at UNC, dartmouth, and Pittsburgh coming up.
The admissions people at georgetown and my interviewer said to go to a public school before a private school as it is so much cheaper (a strange thing for them to say i thought). They estimated georgetown would cost 50-60,000 a year including food, transportation, medical insurance, essentially everything including 37,000 tuition. ECU is about 6,000 tuition and fees and housing etc is probably pretty cheap.
Anyway, I think i liked ECU better than both Georgetown and GW. I dont know what I want to specialize in, so I was wondering if ECU might be limiting in terms of residencies compared to a place like dartmouth or pitt and whether the cost of a private school would be worth it in any event? I am thinking of going to the UNC interview but cancelling the rest. any thoughts?
thanks
alan

UNC-or-BUST said:Here's to last years thread, especially my friend Sally. UNC Acceptance 1-9, call at 5:57pm from my Adcom member. Two interviews, one long waitlist, one acceptance...... 😀

Wake's adcom meets today... this will be my first post-interview decision![]()

Also, if you receive a supplemental from UNC, is it definite that you will get an interview? I submitted my supplemental in early Dec, but haven't heard back from them.

Wow. I've been away from the board too long. Alan, congrats on the quick acceptance at ECU! Good luck with your upcoming interviews.AlanAlan said:hey all,

Thanks, Shahab. Oh, you can bet I will still be nervous! I really liked ECU a lot, but UNC's location and curriculum fit better into my life. The transition there would be so much easier because I wouldn't have to move my family. Don't get me wrong..... I am grateful for the ECU acceptance! It's a good school, but UNC would make my life so much simpler.shahab said:Congratulations. I am sure with your ECU acceptance in hand, you won't be nervous at UNC.
May be you can use some of those lines from 'Things To Never Say During An Interview' like "What are you writing about me?"
Best wishes!

hpm4 said:Thanks EM1 and golftrippy! Congrats on getting accepted golftrippy and good luck Em1!
Hopefully we will hear today because I can't wait until Tuesday either!!! I'll post if I hear anything!
hpm4 said:So I jsut called Wake and I am still waitlisted (stauts hasn't changed) but the admissions office was really nice so I would say call if you can't wait!
hpm4 said:Good Luck jwnduke!!
jwnduke said:AAHH, thanks, but I called like you, and like you my application has had no change in status. Still waiting, I guess.
hpm4 said:I think waiting is the worst part....but maybe they haven't updated the computer since their meeting Wednesday???? I know, wishful thinking 🙁
Em1 said:I just called Wake and they said they didn't have the results in yet, but the email should go out tonight, if not Tuesday morning.
