When I interviewed there on Jan 25th, they told us the next committee meetign will be on Feb 8th.

Just curious, has anyone chosen or considering choosing ECU over UNC after being accepted to both?
 
Today is probably a UNC day, so good luck to everyone wiating to hear from them! I hope there is a lot of good news on this thread before the day is done!
 
Has anyone sent a letter of intent to Duke or know anyone who has in the past?

After doing cat dissection and biochem exam, I don't feel any nervousness - not that I would get any call anyways. But hoping to see more acceptances today.

Just noticed you have interview coming up at ECU this Thursday. Good luck jwnduke!

This is sad, were are the UNC acceptances? They can't use Monday night football as an excuse anymore.

I didn't hear anything from UNC either and I interviewed 12/13....are there just going to be a bunch of acceptances in March after interview season ends??
 
Nada!!...This is heart wrenching! Looks like another 2 weeks folks. Anybody been waitlisted yet (UNC) or do they not do that 'till after interviews are finished? UNC just doesn't seem on the ball right now. Is this typical of years past or are they usually a bit quicker on letting us know something?

I think its typical, but UNC-or-Bust or mustangsally probably has a better idea. Personally, I'd call whatever list I'm on the waitlist. Interviewing in early Oct. sure has its advantages. Hopefully there's still a lot of spots to fill and over the next two months we'll get a bunch more acceptances.

Spartanboy, did/do you go to UNCG?
 
I don't know about out-of-staters, but in-staters usually hear back alittle faster than this. No waitlists until April.

thanks for the vote of approval, too bad I likely wasted whats equal to a 3 hour semester class on SDN.
Along those lines, it seems that UNC is not moving as fast a usual. Some people, ~3 non-posters I know got in with close to 20 non-posters still waiting. What is even more surprising is that they are still handing out interviews... I think its a little late. Personally schools that wait this long, Wake, Pitt, Maryland , Case that have asked me for an interview get a hardy laugh.
Sorry for waiting, but unlike other schools UNC will keep on rolling admissions through March. Except more movement soon.
 
Hey Bust, here's something to make you laugh.

This summer I was at UNC for the MED program. So I was obviously in the Health Sciences library quite a bit. Usually I would use the upstairs computers to print stuff, but one day I just wanted to check my email. I went in to the ground floor computer bank and sat down at a computer. YOU were logged in to SDN! Here's the best part: there was a message from someone, a PM I think, telling you to remember to log out when you left! :laugh:
I guess they had had the same experience I did.

No, I did not go to UNCG...I went to a small school up in the mountains right outside Asheville. Why do you ask?
And do you really think interviewing early still has its advantages? I feel like the advantage has worn off at this point 🙁
 
just out of curiosity, once you are notified by UNC that you are accepted, do you get an admission package in the mail few days later?

UNCG are the Spartans. I took postbacc classes there, just wondering.

The thing about interivewing early, yeah, that was sarcasm. Its a defense mechanism. Sorry.

If yer still waiting to hear post-interivew after 4 months, yep, thats a waitlist in my book ladies and gentlemen.

Registered...I don't approve of you putting the Drexel in your tagline...just wanted you to know that. Drexel is a fine school, and if you end up there that is great...but don't let this UNC thing get you down. I think you will get into UNC, and I think you have a good shot at U Pitt too. I'm not trying to blow smoke up your a**...you've got a great shot...buck up bucko

Its not so much that this waitlist hell is getting me down. I reall was pretty bummed after the Pitt waitlist. But, then I started thinking about all the other applicants out there who don't have any interviews or acceptances and such. I realized how lucky I am. So, lets just agree to disagree and call the tagline a "work in progress".

Yeah we are both lucky, we've both got great schools to go to. Just saying I think we are both getting into UNC, and likely Pitt, and I'm not usually an optomist. Where we will end up and choose...who knows?

I am Pro-Choice when it comes to med schools. I liked the "buck up, bucko" line. Made me laugh! Anyway, I just figure there's no point in getting down during this process 'cause it doesn't do any good.

On another note, why doesn't my new avavtar stay where its supposed to? Stupid thing.

they did meet yesterday, my interviewer said he called me several times at 6 but my cell phone was not working, so he called me at work at 8am this morning!!!!!!!!

Sorry I've been kind of AWOL lately. I'm not really an expert on UNC anyway because they've rejected me twice. Well, I guess you could say I'm an expert on rejections! 😀

I would say that most people hear after March. last year decisions were supposed to be mailed mid-April, they ended up going out near the last week of April, and I got my rejection letter April 29. So we've got a while to wait. Only a few more months, though, which is great compared to the long time those of you who submitted AMCAS in June had to look forward to.

If you hear after march, isnt it def a rejection or waitlist? That doesnt sound too promising as we are going to be mid feb soon.

Also has anyone who interviewed after nov 30 th got the DND letter?


Presumably only one more meeting before march :scared:

Also the UNC office probably thinks I am crazy. I sent an update letter to the general admissions email. No one responded so I called Lisa and she me email it to her. I did and she got it, then randee emailed me saying she got it and added it to my file (presumably my original email). Then at the advice of my adviser he told me to email it to Dr. Hoole, I did but I used the email he doesnt use too often. So I had to email it to him again at the correct one. I had also mailed it. So they probably have 5 copies of that letter! haha oh man, this process is making me crazy.

I don't think thats the case Bob, I think they will let a lot in at the end of the interview season and then send out waitlist and rejection. I did a similar email goof at pitt, i dont think he'll mind...he might even think its funny. Keep your head up, and congratulations Sim!

I agree...I called Lisa and she said that most of the acceptances will come out after the interview season and that their class isn't near full yet.....thats hope thats the truth 🙂
