I don't think anyone has started this thread yet, so I apologise if it's a duplicate. Well, St. Louis University is not exactly at the top of most applicants' lists, but it's one of few schools that's given me an interview, and I'd be excited to go there. Call me crazy, but I prefer the inner-city urban atmosphere to rural/suburban any day, and St. Louis is a nice city IMO. So I guess feel free to discuss anything SLU-related.
So...admissions tells me that usually it takes them 4-6 weeks to make a decision. This is my fourth week after my interview. Can any current SLU students comment on the notification timeframe? If they don't want to accept you right away, do they notify you of that ("You've been deferred/put on hold"), or do they just not tell you anything and let you dangle until March?

Yeah, I interviewed at UI Carver, which is a great school, but the rural atmosphere really turned me off. I'm interested in getting experience in urban medicine, which I think SLU would be better at. If by some miracle I am accepted to both schools (yeah, right) it'll be a tough choice for me! (Go to a "better" higher-ranked school, or a school with an atmosphere I like more).
I'm sure the adcom's just warmin' up
