OK, OK... I will bore you all with my lame story. Of course, I have to include a disclaimer that some will yawn, others will just say, "My God, I wasted my time reading this?!?" 😀

So, I was totally burned out from the application season and early parts of the interview trail... I had previously only done the SDN interview feedback stuff and stumbled on the forums, thinking, maybe I could find solace there. Misery loves company, and I figured that time of the year, most of us would be pretty darned crispy-fried.

OK, here's where it gets even more lame and corny...

I had just received my first acceptance... oddly from the school I had ranked lowest on "places I'd like to live for the next 4 years" but it got really bumped up after my interview-- very nice people, very nice school, and I could find a way to tolerate a lot of snow... and the brrrrrr cold of the midwest.

So, I was curious and kicked my lurking on the forums into high swing. I actually started getting into quite a few threads and eventually had something to say (hence, the requirement to create a username, etc). I was totally relieved by my first acceptance (and elated, of course!) and, in my limited mental capacity following hours of mindless application filling-out and MCAT score-waiting, I could only come up with this:

First Day of the Rest of My Life.

Yep. Lame. So now you can rest easy knowing there is nothing compelling and inspired about my username. Hehe.

Shhhhhh.... don't tell anyone. 😛

There, my contribution to you all making it to Page 200 by matriculation. 👍

And here's to some good news for all my VCU buds this coming week... :luck:
 
Hey Guys,
So I finally finally made my final decision and withdrew from everywhere else. I'll be joining many of you in Richmond in a few months! For those of you on the waitlist, hang in there! I'd be proud to have any of you as my classmates. Anyone lurking around the VCU forum?

I just exited out of the OOS list, hopefully that will move some of you up (maybe not though, for all I know I could be the last one).

You need to lay off the disclaimers and stop putting your own stories down. I for one really liked it. At the very least it satisfied my curiosity.
Wouldnt it be interesting to know what others think your screenname means? All this time I thought yours was a drug or something....doesnt it sound like a drug? I almost asked one of the nurses I work with. Boy would they have laughed their heads off.
On an unrelated note, don't you all HATE it when you say something stupid thats medical related and people wont stop with the 'arent u gonna become a doctor? god help us all?'... or something to that effect.

It's look like it is officially May 15th...didn't think this date would ever arrive as time seems to be creeping...not sure what I am expecting for the next business day, but hope it involves some positive phone calls or e-mails for my husband so that we can move off one of the 3 waitlists. Withdrawing from VCU was such a tough decision, it d*mn near kept me up most of the night. But I did it, and I hope one of you guys get the spot. Good luck!

ok...off topic...for all of you on the WL, have you sent your FAFSA to VCU? i mean i know its pretty presumtive to send them fin aid info when i haven't even been accepted but i don't want to get it in too late. anyone know the process for this? i ask because i have been accepted to a master's program and i need to send them my FAFSA in case i do end up going there. so i'm kinda stuck. can anyone help?

you can send ur FAFSA to multiple programs..when you complete the FAFSA online, they ask you to enter the school's programs where you want it sent. and yeah, you can definitely send ur FAFSA to schools even tho ure only on waitlist, this will help expedite the process once u are accepted...and WE WILL BE ACCEPTED 😀

Got off the OOS waitlist a few hours ago! I interviewed in September and have been following this thread ever since. I'm withdrawing from MCW if anyone is on that waitlist. Good luck, guys.
 
wahoooooooo I GOT ACCPETED TODAY may 15 AT 6PM. I am in-state. So all the in-staters be patient. I have been waiting for this day for 3 looooong years. I can't even blieve it anymore, i feel like they are joking.
I applied to 12 schools and did not get accepted anywhere. I really lost hope, i was just extremelyyyy anxious and worried. till TODAY, wahoo. It was really nice know all of you. Only u guys know exactly what I was going through. Althought, I did not write much, I had always read ur messages.
Hope to see u alll next year.
 
is anyone thinking about emailing Dr H again (post may 15) and asking for another (more informative) evaluation of their standing on the waitlist??? I kinda would really like to know if im one of the "late summer possibility" waiters...

I was just thinking about doing that sometime in the next week or so.

It's funny how similar our situations are, Vizsla. You realize, of course, that there's only room enough for one of us, and so we will have to fight to the death. 🙁

:laugh: OR....we could both get a call from G-dub this week asking if we would like to have a spot in the incoming class and then arrange our duel for orientation in August

This also happens to be my first acceptance so dont lose hope people.

that's what i'm saying. i haven't accepted vcu. just was offered off the waitlist today.


edit: come on-- i really like you guys. i've been following this thread since the beginning. i play by the rules. no worries! just wondering what i'm missing out on (by not having a password, yet).
