Mostly people looking for roommates and setting up times to meet up before school starts to get acquainted with their classmates.

I went through last year's thread and acceptances were given all the way till first week of August. So no hope lost. It might happen a little later (and probably inconveniencing) but it can happen nonetheless.

I will probably withdraw my OOS acceptance from VCU sometime next week. I just found out minutes ago I got into Rochester. I still need to wait on financial aid.

Okay. I have thought long and hard about this and I have devised a marketing campaign to get all of my VCU waitlist folks off the waitlist. I can't give you all the details yet, but here's what I will need from each of you.

Women: I need a picture of you in front of a garrish mailbox in your neighborhood. You must wear black leggings and a bikini top with tassles.

Men: I need pictures of you flyfishing in a river wearing nothing but brown leather chaps.

Again, I can't provide you with all the details but I can say that the production of this marketing scheme will involve Photoshop (tm), a Billboard and an official slogan that I currently have my R&D people working on.

I expect the photos in my mailbox by 5 pm tonight.

Yes. Traffic cones are a fine replacement and anyone who has read some of my earlier posts on SDN can speak to my love for Madonna. Now back to my slogan brainstorming session....

You'd be welcome, but don't say such things! Part of the reason I was so persistent with VCU was that I knew it attracts such great people. I also love the fact that there's a good sum of non-traditionals, and level-headed women who haven't just turned 21. So you're all coming to school with me and that's my final word.

After months of waiting (since friggin early September) my butt has finally gotten in 😱 . Actually this day has been 4 years in the making and it still hasn't sunken in just yet. My parents almost fainted when I told them and my future mother-in-law was hugging me and jumping up and down with me. When I read my new status I popped out of my seat and almost gave my future father-in-law a heart attack. All the dogs in the house were jumping around too because I was running around hollering like a wildebeast (sp). ShyRem, did I call it or what when I said I had I feeling we would be waiting all the way until the waitlist?! <-- for you!

My R&D guys have acouple of plans. If I can get a good number of photos of women in tassles/traffic cones and a number of "backside" photos of our flyfishing men then I was thinking about juxtaposing them with some of those nerds who are going to no-name places like Mayo or Harvard (Risa excluded) with the slogan
"Who would you rather have feeling your lymph nodes?"

I called EVMS to see if they received my most recent reference letters, and the woman on the phone said, "yes, and we've tossed them in the trash." My heart froze, thinking I'd been rejected, and then two seconds later she said "...and replaced them with an acceptance letter."

I love EVMS, but that being said, my first choice is still VCU!

VPDCurt & Tac: No, I don't mind you asking. I thought it was really weird when that one guy said a couple weeks ago that "of course" he wouldn't talk about his own situation. What good are you then? What were we going to do about it?

Tac-- it might not have been quite as vague as that, but when I asked for clarification of my chances, all she said was this--The waitlist wasn't moving as much as she had anticipated, but she expected it to pick up over the next few weeks. And here's what sort of bummed me out: "So far there is nothing to report. Sorry!" I really appreciate her patience and willingness to write us back at all, but my heart sank at that last word--like it might be the final word on me not getting in. And that was just a couple weeks ago! I wasn't expecting to hear back for a long time, and I was overjoyed.
