Whoop! Whoop! y'all are AWESOME. I've been slacking a bit as my son has the flu - so we're both tired in the morning. :yawn:

15 days..15 days.. we should make a song... 15 days...

i've been complete at VCU for 2 months today. no vague messages or anything yet. anybody else not heard from them yet? i thought they were a school that was kinda on top of their ****.

DaMota, I've been complete for over 6 weeks now, so I guess I have more waiting to look forward to. Hopefully we'll here something soon.
 
DaMota, they usually are. So your status page still says "complete and pending review"? No "we've reviewed you blah blah blah may not get to everyone at your priority score blah blah blah"? If it's the former, give 'em a call to find out where your file is at. If it's the latter, give 'em a call anyways and ask if they've filled up their interview dates yet.... their admissions staff has a pretty good sense of humor and are quite helpful, see if you can get a sense of hope or despair (dispair? I need lunch...) out of them. Let us know what you find out.

yup. still just "complete". i called them last weekish and they were real nice and all but just told me to keep checking my status update and that they're backed up with apps. i'll just wait it out. hopefully hear something soon.

I hate to jinx our count-down...but is there any chance that the decisions may not be posted on the 15th? I know the status page says that news will be delivered on that day, but Dr. H implied that it was somewhat more fluid. I seem to remember her saying that the adcom generally prefers to deliver good news "sometime" before the holidays.

Of course, I'll still be contributing...and checking my status page every 10 minutes through the 15th...and praying to every possible diety that could come down on my side... 👍
 
Hey, if it's earlier that's great. If it's later, then we can all drink together until they get posted. I'm easy. Not cheap, but easy.

I remember Dr. H saying the same thing. Like, "we try to get the info out before the holidays, but not to expect it right on the 15th"

Mota, if they let me in then you're golden baby. Just ride the wait game like the rest of us and it will be all good. Maybe. 😕 😱 😀
 
I must admit, this wait has been the worst. Rolling adm. kicks ace. Screw this prolonged wait crap. They should just let us all in!! 👍
 
two months and seventeen days after I was complete, I got an interview invite... 🙂 It was worth the wait!

Just over two months complete for me, and finally today I get that dang darn damn "priority number...MAY interview you" garbage. As if I needed more anxiety.......where's my bottle opener????

got this today, i guess i didnt get ranked higher than a 3.5 (1 being best 5 being worst)...hoping Dec 15th is the day...

The Admissions Committee has met to discuss your file. Your application is being placed on hold for action at a later date. We anticipate making offers October 15, December 15, at the end of January, and mid-March.

You will receive no further communication from us concerning your hold status. The next status change will be to offer you a position in the class, to notify you that you have been placed on the alternate list in mid-March, or to notify you that the committee will no longer be considering your file. However, this page will have a message at the top indicating each time offers are made.

We thank you for your interest in our school.

nah i was actually there the 16th....they had said that our files would prob not make it to admission till right before the 15th...guess they caught up...good luck
 
I thought they didn't let you know you were on hold until the 15th? I understood that you would be told immediately if you were rejected but acceptances and holds would go out on the 15th. I interviewed on November 9th and have not received that message yet. I did get the message about filling out the post-interview survey though.

Being placed on hold for future action simply means they met and gave your file a score. Come the 15th individuals with sufficiently high scores will be given an offer of admission.

I am confused why they reviewed applications from the 14th and 16th but I interviewed on the 9th and have not heard anything.

Possibly because the day the met and your file should have been discussed your interviewer was unable to go to the committee meeting. They do not discuss any files unless both the initial reviewer and the interviewer are present as these two individuals are your advocates to the committee.

hey man...like dakota said, your interviewer probably did not show up to committee...have you heard from SLU? i int with Dr. Westerman on Tuesday....

Counting down till 12/15 - the listed 'decision day' for December. VCU will give out approximately 90 acceptances from their list on that day.

we're counting down til the day when i hear anything from VCU. cuz i've just been complete and under review for 9 weeks now. so ya, the people on this thread are very supportive. thanks for counting down for me guys!

sweet... does it matter when you interviewed? i interviewed the first week in november; can i join the count-down? [i'll bring the champagne]
 
darlin' if you bring champagne, you can join any countdown you want. I'll bring the cookies and hors d'oeuvres.

As for does it matter when you interviewed - as long as you've been reviewed and are in the 'hold for further action' list, you've got a shot at acceptance (since we don't know our priority scores).

i can't access my status page... it is telling me to fill out an interview survey questionnaire, but the link doesn't exist... 😕

anyone else have this problem?
