2007 vs. 2008 Practice Materials, video material

Hey all, I'm writing Step 1 on Dec 29th, and I was wondering if anyone knows which of the 2 sets of practice materials applies to someone such as myself writing in one of the 2008 eligibility blocks who is writing in *2007*.

I figure quite a few people would benefit from knowing which year's materials will be more representative/applicable to them..

Also, any word on when video materials are meant to make an appearance? Apologies to all if this info is readily available. I'm having a hard enough time putting down my books to write this message, let alone search the web. =)

The content of what is fair game for the test does not change from year to year. The test prep companies do not know what will be on the test in a given year and thus the content does not change significantly. The main purpose of materials updated annually is to discourage people from buying their materials second-hand.

Oh, cool. Thanks for that. I was just thrown off a bit when I saw that they had both 2007 and 2008 sample questions for download on usmle.org. In any case, I think it safest to just go with 2008... it includes some audio/video stuff on it too, and I guess overpreparation is always better than underpreparation. =)
