if someone did, there would have been a thread about them already...No need to worry yourself yet.Since not everyone seems to get stuff at once, I'm wondering if anyone reading this thread has gotten any info from the following schools:
Albany
Cornell
Dartmouth
Drexel
Duke
Einstein
Emory
Loyola
Mayo
Mt. Sinai
NYMC
NYU
Northwestern
Stanford
Temple
Tufts
Tulane
UCLA
UCSF
USC
Anything?
This is turning out to be pretty intense... 10 done, 26 more to go 😱
Well maybe fewer .. some schools screen 🙂 So 23-24 more to worry about.. for now
Seriously. 15/44 complete and 15/16 complete of the available schools.
I am sure I will get screened out of a few schools, so, we'll see what happens.
How different do the descriptions for these need to be from the original AMCAS work/activities section? I realllyy don't want to have write whole new in-depth descriptions of this shizz
Oh my ...
And I thought I was on the ball for having finished 6... 😳
I'm considering ditching duke, which used to be my top 3 school, the thought of writing 6 essays that have no limits is kinda ewww. I know this is how they weed some of us out, but still...
On a secondary application I am filling out it asks you to give examples of community service projects. I have a few, but I was wondering whether or not I could talk about my experience in Boy Scouts, helping younger scouts and earning my Eagle. I did this in high school, and I'm not sure whether or not it is applicable? Advice anyone?
So I'm wondering if the downloadable secondary for albert einstein is current or not because it says 2008 entering class...should I just start filling it out or wait until I get an email from them?? Anyone else looking into this?
Did anyone else receive this?
Have they marked the letters as received for you?
Tnx.
Dear Applicant,
We are contacting you because you have attended at least one school that uses VirtualEvals to provide letters of evaluation / recommendation to medical schools.
As AMCAS is currently working with VirtualEvals to test electronic letter receipt, if you have requested that letters be sent to AMCAS via VirtualEvals those letters will currently appear in AMCAS as "not received". Letters made available to AMCAS via VirtualEvals will appear as received in AMCAS once our testing phase is complete, on or about July 8, 2008. At that time, you will receive an email informing you that the letter has been marked as received. You can also check the status by logging into your AMCAS application.
Please note that, although these letters will not be available via AMCAS until our testing with VirtualEvals is complete, medical schools can log directly into VirtualEvals to download such letters at any time; as such, this will not result in delayed consideration of your application materials. Please note also that this will not affect the verification of your application.
Please let us know if you have further questions by contacting us at (202) 828 0600.
Sincerely,
AMCAS
I remember looking at it a while ago but seeing something about how you should fill it out after they give you an email invite.

NYMC is kind of up. They emailed me the username and password, but when I log in it says that the Secondary will not be online until July 21st. Did this happen to anyone else?
Anyone else experiencing a lull in secondary apps? I got 6 on 7/1 & 7/2 and not a peep since. Still waiting to hear from 8 schools.
I copied and pasted the exact wording from my AMCAS for now. Re-wording my descriptions for the sake of it sounding new seems useless, and I hope the adcom understands that.
It says in the faq that they want it re-listed for analysis purposes...some bargraph. I have nothing new to add.
Let me know if you end up changing yours. I'm holding on pushing "send" unit I get 1 more LOR.
Do you have to enter the activities chronologically or does it automatically do it for you?
UWisc said:Activities
Provide a chronological history of your life activities from the time you completed high school to the present, i.e. volunteer work, service work, research, participation in music, sports, etc., parenting, et al.
UWisc said:Q: Why is there a life experiences and activities section on the secondary application? Didn't I already provide this information in my AMCAS application?
A: Information about life activities is requested on our secondary application. It does parallel that on the AMCAS application. However, this information on our secondary is designed to provide a chronological listing of your life activities and experiences when it is viewed by reviewers. It provides a bar graph listing activities over time. Therefore, be sure to give a full accounting of life experiences since completing high school. In addition, the secondary allows you the opportunity to expand or add dimension to the accounting in the AMCAS application. We are aware that there is likely to be repetition.
Rplyler1 beat me to it!
I called and it will automatically generate the bar graph for them chronologically so enter as you please.
