I just called AMCAS and they said that no one's letters have been marked as received yet, so their tentative date of July 8 didn't work as planned. The lady told me to check back in a couple days, but when the letters are uploaded, they will be marked as received immediately, and we will receive an email, as well.

I got a link to Vermont but was told that it didn't work, so I didn't post it yet.

I'm still waiting for someone to say:

Here is the Vermont's Prompt, LOR reqs, and URL. Then I'll know for sure that it works!
 
I wonder why AMCAS sends us those weekly reminders that they haven't received our letters yet if they haven't uploaded anybody's letters at all 😕

i had no problem accessing vermont's..i just can't access it from work and keep forgetting to pm you

A few have said they have had their's uploaded.

As for UVM, the link works, but I guess the forms only show up if you've received the invite. I signed up for the site and it recognizes who I am, but there isn't anything there.

so far, screw BU what's with them???
 
I just got BU today. Not sure how they are doing it (giving them out I mean). It took me about 15 minutes though, their online thing is pretty easy to use.

hmm... then maybe they haven't uploaded anyone's letters who is using VirtualEval? maybe if you send them in by snail mail or something they are uploading them? 😕 just a thought

My school uses virtualevals and my letters were uploaded and I received an email from them two days ago. I got the AMCAS letter reminder email today and inquired what was with the discrepancy. Here's their response:

"Your letter of evaluation has not yet been recieved. It may take up to 15 buisness days to have a letter marked as recieved once it is in the office. Once the letter is marked as recieved, you will recieve an email notification."

So looks like we have to wait...like with BU and the others...

oo hmm... were your letters uploaded to virtualevals or to AMCAS? cuz mine were uploaded to virtualevals 2 weeks ago and VE sent me an email saying it was uploaded, but AMCAS hasn't sent me anything

but ya, sucks we have to wait, but good to know how long it might take. thanks, mate. haha

VirtualEvals but at least I just got Mount Sinai so something to keep my mind off of it
 
I apologize if I missed this somewhere in the thread, but do we have a list of secondaries that go out before verification?
 
VE here too and no AMCAS upload yet. Bombarded with secondaries today :/
 
Does anyone know what Rosalind Franklin's secondary looks like? Any essays?
 
I got Yale, Columbia and Pritzker Secondary Apps.

Still waiting on BU, Dartmouth, Duke, Cornell, Stanford, Northwestern, Wayne State.

Anyone have news?
 
Sooo i'm not sure if anyone asked this as...was too lazy to search for it, but you know schools that ask for a separate "optional page" like Yale and Columbia for example...what the heck are you supposed to write? i mean yes the obvious "something that doesn't fit on your apps" is a wonderful answer they gave me...but realistically..help guys?

I didn't write anything. If you have to think too hard about it, there probably isn't anything at all. For example maybe your grades took a dip during sophomore year because of a family tragedy. You could explain it using this space. Maybe you had to work full time during college to pay for tuition, and that's why you didn't have as much time to get involved in extracurricular activities. I think the average applicant leaves this portion blank because there aren't any extraordinary circumstances that they need to explain/elaborate on.

My status for Wake Forest says:

"Your AMCAS application has been evaluated and we are sending you our secondary application by e-mail. Please allow 2 weeks for the application to be sent to you as we send them out in batches."

I was wondering if anyone else has the same status and if anyone knew what percent of Wake Forest applicants are invited to complete the secondary application.

damn now I need to go check, but to answer your question...I am pretty sure they screen presec heavily, much more so than most schools.

It would be nice to know how many got secondaries though.....I remember reading last year, that they were rejecting plenty of ppl presec.....I sure hope they didnt change it this year.
 
My status at Wake Forest says that my AMCAS application is still under review...🙁 :scared:

what a downer......I hope they are clearing people for secondaries in bunches or something

1. AMCAS Finally marked my VEvals-delivered letters as received.

2. I also received BU's secondary (visually, unnecessarily complex 😱)

Just spreading the word, now that things are falling into place! 🙂
 
AMCAS marked my letter packet from Virtual Evals as recieved this morning. Finally.

So just got off the phone...
"Hi, my primary was verified a while ago but I haven't received a secondary." (she finds my info)
"We have your information but haven't sent you an email yet"
"When are emails sent out?"
"When your primary is verified"
"But my friend received his secondary and he got his verified last week"
.....no response
"thank you, bye"

Great so in other words they think they're sending them out right when you get verified so I'm gonna look like a schmuck when I send it in long after it's verified. At some point it's not gonna be worth submitting. /vent
 
I just received New York Medical College's secondary. They just want you to list your evaluators.

I am unsure what to put for course name, #, hours earned for optional letters like with a physician I shadowed.
 
Did anyone receive this correspondence from Emory?

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the launch of the 2009 Emory Supplemental Application has been delayed. It is expected that the new site will be live by the end of August.

Dartmouth is the same as last year (no space limit as far as I could tell):

I think that I am in a worse position. Here is what my status page says:

Your AMCAS application is being placed on hold pending receipt of your MCAT scores. When the scores are received, your application will be evaluated and you will be sent an e-mail notification of your status. Please note, that even if AMCAS has released the scores we may not get them loaded into our system for 2-3 weeks after they are released.

I took the MCAT on May 10th and had my scores before I submitted my AMCAS app. However I had to check that stupid box on the primary app. saying that I took/ was taking the May 10th MCAT. Now it has caused my review to be delayed. Excellent!!

Did you use someone as a LOR that did not teach you a class? like a physician or former employer? I'm not sure what to put for class # and stuff.
