this is pure torture! I just called in and they told me that there has been no change, and i have to wait again until february 25.. i wonder what this means.

Same here. This was my third time hearing them say I'm under review. At least we're all in the same boat...🙁
 
They are putting all in state applicants on hold and so is MSU on pre hold...

Bummer...waiting till next month... Out of curiosity, does anyone know if they really reconsider each applicant each month, or should I be expecting to find out in april-ish. Has anyone here been "under review" for at least one call in date and already accepted as of now? or do most "under review" applicants generally find out in april/may or later?
 
Congrats to those who got in. There is a facebook group...just search for Wayne State 2013.
 
I got the "application still under review" and was told to try again next month. Time to write a letter of interest, I suppose.
 
i'm a little confused at how 'under further review' works.. does this mean that when the committee was voting on our admissions that it was a tie?
 
I think they've just scrapped calling a non-acceptance a "waitlist". Cause technically, it isn't a waitlist until all offers have been given out.

And I've been put under "further review" as well. Oh well, look's like another month of waiting.....
 
Have there been any post-interview rejections at this point? It seems like everything is just relegated to 'under further review'...
 
What kind of documents do we have to send to wayne state after the initial 50 dollars?

0. 50 dollars hold
1. Transcript
2. FASFA

Then.. do we just show up on orientation day? What happens on May 15th when we have to give a response to all the schools? Sorry for all the questions.

Scholarship Application can be submitted online, verification sheets of W-2s and 1040s after the FAFSA, signing the MPN and everything else online through pipeline for direct loans if you are taking out loans.

You can do the scholarship app as soon as you get your access ID but they won't do anything with it until you file your FAFSA and they request your verification worksheets. I know they don't do it for everyone so you should check pipeline.

I believe after May you can get your physical. You'll need a Hep C baseline titer, titer or vaccination for varicella, Hep B, Hep A, childhood vaccinations, and a TB test. The form will be put online later or you can just use whatever is available.

for all those who did not get into wayne, don't lose hope! even if you don't get off the wait-list this year. I got rejected last year, with an interview. keep your head up!
 
when was your interview last year?

and did you retake the MCAT or use the same score as last year?
 
I recently received a 2nd letter from the admissions department. The first was my interview invite. I went to the interview and just received some other piece of mail from them. I won't be able to open it till I get back home so I was wondering if anyone on here knows what this might be?

when was your interview?
 
I interviewed jan 7th and called in on the 28th. The admissions lady said that I was still under review and to call in next month so I have no idea what this letter could be?
 
So I want to send a letter of interest, but I don't know whether to send it now or wait till april when they actually take people off the waitlist. any suggestions? 😳

Hey cindyloo,

Although the waitlist is more active in April, they still take people off in February and March. I recommend sending a letter in soon - I'm going to this week. I still remember the secretary saying that it wouldn't help much, but that it wouldn't hurt either.
 
I was told I was still under review and to call back next month. I've written a letter of interest and want the admissions committee to see my grades from last semester (that was the only weakness my interviewer identified on my application) but I see nothing on the website about a proper protocol for it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
 
I just "copy and pasted" my transcript from my school website into a word document and emailed it to them. My grades are fine so it didn't matter to me if I did it right...you might want to call and ask them about it if it's important
 
I have been "under review" for a long time now (interviewed back in october). I am sending out my letter of intent either by the end of this week or very early next week. Wayne state is my first choice, and I intend to let them know that and why! Who knows.. they say it doesnt really help, but maybe it will.

I beleive that WSU will be sending out invites until the end of the month. I think they try to have all of their interviews done by the end of March.

I have a question for the folks that have been accepted. I received an e-mail from AMCAS informing me that I will be receiving an e-mail from certiphi for a criminal background check about 2 days after my Wayne call-in date.

But it's been almost 2 months since my acceptance and the call-in date but I have not received an e-mail from certiphi...is anyone else in the same predicament?
 
I've looked everywhere online and I can't find it. . .

Does anyone know what percent of the class passes the USMLE step 1 and 2 on the first try?
 
I asked at my interview and I think it was really high...like 96% for step 1 and 99% for step 2. They also offer help if you don't pass it.
 
If you fail step I in June they allow you to retake it and start M3 a little later. It does also mean that you have to make up the rotations. If you don't seem to be ready they highly suggest you don't take it in June.
 
It's a teensy bit cold for me up here, but I should be thankful that it wasn't too windy or that no snow fell. If it flurries tomorrow though and my flight gets delayed.. 😡

Dinner in Mexicantown was mmm mmm good though. Best of luck to everyone else who's interviewed or going to be doing so. :xf:

Hope you weren't delayed. It was snowing. As for the cold it has been brutal this year more than normal and snow too. Spring/Fall/Summer are nice.
