WOOOOOOHOOOOOO... I applied late, but still got accepted to some of my top schools. I got accepted into BU in less than week. I also got acceptances into Buffalo, NYU, and Tufts. =D
I just wanted to note that dental experience is not so important because I barely had any experiences.

what stats are you working with? How late did you apply?

Just wanted let you know that you're a bit out of line homeboy (or girl). You should be a little concerned about those who have yet to receive an acceptance anywhere and had experiences. But I guess you are only concerned about showing off to people you don't know on a forum. Cool for you! 👎

You're probably right that a lot dental experience is not required for acceptance, although it can help. But, when you start dental school and are working as a dentist, don't come looking for sympathy if it wasn't what you expected.

It's true that you don't need dental experience, but it can help you decide if dentistry would actually be enjoyable as a career. I don't understand why you wouldn't seek dental experience to get a good feel for what it entails, before you invest 4 years, hundreds of thousands of dollars in dental school, and 30 years into a career.

Congratulations on your acceptance and I wish you luck in your endeavors.

I wouldn't brag about applying late. Consider yourself fortunate that you got in.
BTW go to BU😀

Sorry to those who felt that I was selfish. I admit I was a little excited about my acceptances, but I don't mean to brag. I just want to give hope to those who applied late and those who had little experiences in dentistry. I personally know what I'm getting into because my father is a dentist; however, no one knows what a dentist is like unless he or she is a dental student or a dentist.
My stats weren't that great but here they are:
GPA: 3.62
Sci GPA: 3.69
AA:20 TS:20 PAT:20
Applied mid Dec.
(I think my personal statement stood out among others)

Having barely any dental experience and having a father as a dentist are two very different things. I didn't think you were bragging, I just thought it would be bad advice for you to suggest that you don't need dental experience. So, when you said that you had barely any dental experience it was misleading, because having a father as a dentist gives you insight, support and experience not available to others.

congrats Touchless. I think having a father as a dentist has been one of the greatest resources for driving my desire to become a dentist for so many reason.

Congratulations. I think your status looks great, especially the fact that your father is a dentist. Btw, when was you interviewed ? I am jealous that you heard from dental schools in less than a week, while I have been waiting for my dental schools for almost a month. It's killing me ...
