Yeah, I'm beginning to realize that you really don't need to turn in your app on the very first day. I applied super early too, and there are schools where I was complete way before people who have already heard about interviews. Sigh.

It is just part of the process. In my opinion, it is pretty obvious that people with a 39 and 4.0 are going to be getting interviews before me even if they submitted 2 weeks after me. Applying early helps you compared to people with similar stats.

👍 well said. there IS an advantage to applying early. we're all flippin out, but we have to remember that its still august!

and 2 weeks is not as big of a deal as 2 months, so dont lose hope

Very true. Still extremely early in the app cycle. I wouldn't really call it "flipping out" though. I like to think of it as the normal reaction after going through this process and seeing someone apply after you (seen as not being as motivated by some people) get bumped to the top of the pile because of their MCAT score. Although I don't disagree with the methodology of the medical schools, it is still frustrating

This process wouldnt be as fun if it was easy

hey how soon after your guys's amcas was verified did you get the secondary link?

drzing: My AMCAS was in the first batch and I still haven't received the secondary yet. Chiiiiilllllll, it could be a while. 😎

You didn't read the thread at all huh?

This thread is full of people freaking out because they submitted the first week possible and only a few have received the secondary. You are now up to date.

haha thanks..

who hasn't received the secondary yet? when did you submit your primary?

I haven't received the secondary yet. I was verified by AMCAS on June 10th and I submitted my primary to Drexel on August 6th.

No secondary here. I submitted in late June. Drexel doesn't screen, they want our $$$ so I'm sure it'll come soon.

what is up with this school? I got verified 6/9/09 and still no secondary. 😡

is there a LOR maximum for this school? is 6 overkill as long as you send the 3 required (2 science, 1 non)?

i got secondary two weeks ago and i prolly have the worst gpa/mcat score here but wat so funny is that i couldn't get throu the transaction so i called them and before i could finish asking the question "yes my name is ..... and i have a question on my secondar" "ohh we are just sending them now give it a couple of days" this guy so frustratd, i guess he's getting lots of calls tho hahah

I also submitted in late June (6/24), verified 7/18, and received my secondary 8/18

Anybody else?

i submitted primary 6/28 verified around 7/12. i'm applying to drexel's md/phd program, and got an email from a joint degree rep telling me to fill out the supplemental app. except i haven't gotten it yet. 😛

I submitted and was verified on 6/2, and I have yet to receive this secondary. Crazy.

i think imma call tomorrow and request my secondary...see whassup

same situation here. i guess like all things in this process, it's random. we'll get ours soon...right?

I have a friend who had this problem last year. He called and they basically said "oops!" and sent it to him right away.

I got my drexel secondary almost 2 weeks ago and I did not submit my amcas until 6/30...so I would call if you submitted it a lot earlier than that.

Same position here. I guess...."good things come to those who wait"

So from the Drexel FAQs:
----
5. I’ve applied through AMCAS. When will I receive my secondary application?
As soon as we receive your verified application from AMCAS, we will send you the link to the secondary application via e-mail. All applicants receive a link to the secondary. Please contact us if you feel that your secondary application has not reached you in a timely manner. Please make sure to retain your Banner ID and password, which will be sent to you with the link for the secondary application.
----

So anyone want to contact them, like they said we should?

Just got it as well. $75 application fee...I thought it was normally more?

Under academic history, I still have to list the community colleges from which I did my dual credit courses in high school right?

OMG my secondary invite went straight to junk mail.

When they're asking for self-reported cumulative gpa for each school, do they mean total like as in up to that point, or just the gpa of courses taken from that school?

I think its the gpa for courses taken at that school, I used the gpa I have for each one!

anyone else still not receive a secondary yet ? =(

same problem for me, not able to submit payment

Yeah. Payment isn't going through for me as well. Maybe too many people are trying to pay at once? Everyone stop trying to pay!!!!

Okay. So I am a non-traditional applicant and have taken several extra courses at multiple institutions. I don't have enough space to list all the schools. What should I do? The only ones that don't fit are the universities where I took courses during high school. Is it a big deal if I leave those out?

Also, I took some Continuing Education courses at a university. Even though I received grades for those courses, the transcript does not have a GPA calculated for me. Should I try to calculate one, or should I just list N/A ?

:/

I don't think that's a big deal. I would put the colleges were you did the brunt of your coursework on there. If in doubt, call the office, although it does not seem that any of the schools are particularly welcoming of phone calls at this time.

still no secondary from this school. 😡

if I don't get this by the end of the month, I will call and request one like someone mentioned above.

For the "non-science" letter requirement, do you guys know if it has to be a non science professor (humanities?) or can it be anyone (ie. supervisor)?

Howdy 2014ers, I'm a MS-2 at Drexel and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about the school. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you prefer it, but I check this thread fairly often too.

Good luck with all your apps! :luck:

I believe they fixed the pay website, my payment just went through.

I've helped out in my parent's business for years, and I included this on my AMCAS app, but I'm not sure if it would fit under "extracurricular activities" on the secondary. Any thoughts? Should I just leave it out?
