got a rejection today....from a site that had sent the typical "we got your app." e-mail but added to it that I was impressive and they couldn't wait to interview me. then today- I got a rejection form them!
 
I got two rejections today 🙁 but not before an invite for an interview! 😀!

Hi. I've heard from NJVA, Manhattan VA, Interfaith Hospital, Bronx Psychiatric Center, and Pace. Only classmate I know about heard from Reading Hospital. It doesn't sound like there's much overlap in our sites, but maybe this info is somewhat helpful.

Wow! Way to toy with your emotions. One of my reject letters was pretty terse and perfunctory. The other one at least made an attempt to be gracious.😉
 
Thanks! No overlap there... although I did apply to NYU-Bellevue and NY Pres/Weill-Cornell. Haven't heard a peep from them. Not even confirmation of application receipt (although since they get like 400, I guess that makes sense).

Does seem like those NY sites have their pick of applicants!

By the way, I also just heard invites went out for Charleston consortium today.
 
Yes the big NYC ones have been quiet for me too. Those were some of the ones with the earliest deadlines too!
 
i've heard from the following places for interviews:

Vanderbilt
UCSF
St. Luke's Roosevelt-NYC
Boston University MCT
San Antonio UTHSC

Rejected: UIC, and Massachusetts MHC/Harvard, Jamaica Plain
 
Out of curiosity - did St.Lukes email or call you? I'm still waiting on them.
 
I'm new to SDN and so glad I found it during this painful two week wait. Has anyone heard from the Baltimore VA/ U of. Maryland consortium? Also, is it common to get phone calls. I received some emails, but no invitations via phone. Thanks! Good luck to everyone!

i received word on maryland consortium last week. they contacted me by phone.

i've also heard from UIC, Boston, Nebraska Consortium, and Columbia Presbyterian NY.

Good luck! I'm going nuts waiting for this...:scared:

I'm not sure how common phone calls are, as I've only received 1 invite that way. I'd think e-mail is the most common, though it may depend on the type of site, # of interview spots, etc.

I need to start scheduling my interview days, and I already have a conflict! Three of my sites have similar dates, and they all can work out, but I don't have much wiggle room with them. Something tells me I'm going to have to be creative when it comes to scheduling all of this!

Having everyone post their sites here has been helpful (albeit sad because one of the sites I didn't get 🙁 ).

How are people tracking their sites? I have a rather lengthy spreadsheet that has the information, though a number of sites don't list their possible interview dates, so I have "?" throughout my sheet. There was a suggestion on the listserv to contact programs, though I'm rather hesitant to bug programs. Has anyone inquired about interview days?

I have a blank January calendar that has all the possible interview dates written in pencil, and the interviews already accepted in pen. I looked at it before accepting dates (when they offered several) in to help reduce chances of getting conflicting interviews. I suspect though, that sometimes it may be unavoidable.

Seems like most of my sites give a broad range (e.g. mid-Dec to mid-Jan)..

I heard about the school mental health track. Since there are so many tracks, I'm sure when you will hear varies greatly depending on which track you applied to.

St. Luke's e-mailed me last Tuesday (11/25) and the interview date they sent me was 1/05/09

No one from my program has heard from any of those sites yet. Neuro track people have heard from Yale though.

Did you hear from the clinical or counseling center internship sites at Duke and U Wisconsin? I'm waiting to hear from the clinical sites from both. So far I just have an interview at the Charleston Consortium (which I heard from over a week ago). I guess sites don't notify all their applicants at the same time....Good luck to all. DMer

Hi Dmer,

Definitely interesting..2 of my classmates just got interviews at Charleston yesterday. My other classmate got an interview from Duke yesterday as well. It's definitely clinical (not counseling), but I don't know what track.

I got an interview from U Wisconsin, Madison (general psychiatry track) via email on November 20.

So far that's my only interview (sigh) - but I am still waiting on 10 sites. It's been hard the last couple days b/c my classmates have been getting email notifications right and left... it's been just crickets for me this week so far.

I'm hearing a lot of crickets too this week. Charleston is my only interview so far. I applied to the health track at U Wisconsin, so maybe they're on a different time frame (I hope). I never thought I was neurotic until now...Thanks.

If it's any consolation, I applied to U of W's health track too, and so far haven't heard a word.

It is ebb and flow....I got 2 rejections to start (while others got invites from other sites), then 3 invites in a row, and then 1 more rejection. Ebb and flow.
 
My applicant agreement to NMS was returned to me because of the wrong Zip Code (I think) and I just noticed the letter today! OMG... is this going to be an issue with any of my sites? Does anyone know if this has to be received before sites can contact you? I'm more perturbed than ever because I thought I had the bulk of all the hard stuff done and now this!😕
 
Has anyone heard from the child tracks at NYU, Columbia, St. Luke's or the Albert Einstein Montefiore sites 😕?

FYI: My classmates have already received rejections 👎 from Brown, UCSF, University of Washington, Seattle.

Do you know if that was Univ of WA counseling center, or school of medicine? My friend would love to know, as she applied to the clinical program there.

I don't have any special info, but based on what it says here, I think you're totally fine: http://www.natmatch.com/psychint/

Just send it in ASAP. I don't think it will keep sites from contacting you, at all.

That would totally have freaked me out as well, though!

From my understanding the site can look your # up, but it is probably easier to give it to them. I didn't get my # before I started sending out apps....so I'm just going to bring it with me on my interviews.

So far nothing from any of the above for me. I think someone here heard from St Lukes last week -- adult or child track?

I applied to 2 counseling centers: rejection from U of Oregon. Also applied to UT Austin, but haven't heard anything from them yet.
 
I think I may write my other sites in CA and ask them if they are planning on interviewing me- could they make the interviews around the 17th when I will already be out there (since I am flying in from chicago).

Hope that is ok!

I applied to all counseling sites (welcome to the minority!🙂) I haven't heard a peep from any of them! Sigh.

This is a good idea! I'm assuming it's not necessary to email all your sites the Match #. What do you think?
 
First I received 3 invites; this week 3 rejections. All my invites were by mail and phone. My rejections have all been by email. It makes me hesitant to open my emails for fear of more bad news.:scared:

All of my rejections (2) and invitations (3) were sent via email, so you may get some good news via email too!

Hi there! I've heard from Yale (DSA), Greater Hartford VAMC Consortium, JH Quillen VAMC. My classmates have heard from a wide variety of sites - forgive me if I don't get their names totally correct (I didn't apply to these after all..) Reading, Hudson River Valley, UF, Cincinatti Children's, Duke, UMSC, Boston Consortium, Brown, Georgia Medical, UAB Neuro and others that are not coming to mind at the moment.

It has been a week since anything has come through....I'm ready (only invites please)!
