Congrats to all you who are accepted!

My first rejection. I had a feeling at least one of my interviews didn't go well, but I don't think this school was the best fit for me compared to the other places I interviewed at. I was predicting waitlist, though.

It is still a great school, so good luck to everybody else! Peace out, OSU thread.

I feel the same way man, good luck to you.

Look at you, OSU and Case acceptances in 2 days! congrat's man, these are two of my top choices and I know it will be a tough decision for me if I get into both, so good luck with it!

thanks man! at this point...i can safely say i have no idea where i will be going to med school next year. but i'm going!!

Deferred. Big bummer. Anybody know how our chances are?

Accepted!
Loved the area around the campus and was afraid my interviews didn't go as well as possible, apparently it didn't matter!

Rejected. File Closed. *sigh*

Genuinely loved this school, and I thought I was a competitive applicant. Tried my best to be confident and positive, while not showing any arrogance at all.

With a 60-what? percent post interview acceptance rate, I feel just destroyed that I didn't even make the waitlist. Should I even go to my interviews at Duke and Columbia? I probably don't have a chance in hell.

I'm calling the admissions office to find out what they think are my major deficiencies so I can improve.

are you serious? **** happens. its sometimes the luck of the draw. most people do not have 100% acceptance rates. try to be confident, you still have like 342490823402 interviews left. if you feel bad enough, go back to mock interviewing

yes. I didn't get into OSU last year-- good schools probably all view your app a little differently. Hang in there.

ugh...hold both at THE OSU and case.

my ohio trip apparently didn't go so hot...

Accepted as well!!!!!!!!! Can't believe my life's dream has come true!! 🙂🙂🙂

I'm a reapplicant, I never thought I'd see this day!!!

Congrats to everyone else!! 👍👍😍

Extra special congrats to a fellow reapplicant!

Sucks to hear that man, but chin up! You have like a billion interviews left, you'll definitely get better as time goes on. Now go pwn those Columbia and Duke interviews 😀

Hey man, really didn't expect you to get rejected. Sorry to hear that, but hey, we're both heading to med school next year anyway!

Any in-staters with an acceptance? This was my reach school. Hoping my interview left a positive impression. I guess I'll find out next week.

Way to go everyone who applied, independent of acceptance. What a process. Yowsers.

Just checked the MDapps stats, and it looks like my MCAT is very low for the accepted students. Oh well. *hugs everybody*

Hopefully, something in NY or Tufts will show me a little love.

your mcat is not low at all man, your mcat is above their average, dont let the MSAR medians throw you off

you have 14 interviews. are you honestly worried???

accepted. Missed a call from Dean Capers yesterday telling me the great news (before i checked E mail). Second time I have missed his call since i also missed the interview call.

Accepted on Friday, just got a call from Dean Capers... what a guy! He still calls! That's so cool.

WHen did you interview?? Good to see another soccer fan accepted there!!! Casillas is one of my fav players

I interviewed second week of September, I like the fact that the Columbus crew is best soccer team in the country (for now)

So guys when I accept the offer on medstar is it binding or can I withdraw if i eventually decide not to attend?

You can withdraw later. But if you are not seriously considering OSU than it is recommended that you do not accept the offer.

I am seriously considering it but I didn't want to be tied down to one school this early. Thanks for the advice tho

haha, no worries man. I didn't mean to tell you to do it one way or the other. I just mean, if you are still considering it even the slightest bit, accept and you can always change your mind later. If you are not considering it at all, then don't accept, lol

Best of luck and congrats!

always accept an offer. you can always withdraw later and get your money back, but you can't change your mind once you've withdrawn. for all you know, they'll offer you a full ride scholly.

^ I applied not really knowing anything about the school, but once I got there it impressed me so much that it became my top choice.

Personally I would go ahead and interview there. If you're accepted, you may end up with a nice financial package. But really, it's not stupid either way since you already have an acceptance at a school that you like.

Congrats everyone who made it in!!!!

Thanks Quadraxis! I had a very similar interview experience. Not one of my top choices before I came, but I walked away extremely impressed. Impressed by the students, the facilities, their philosophy of always looking forward, the money they pour into the school ($1 Billion into Project ONE), and the best thing was that they made everything extremely personal. Dean Capers single-handedly calls everyone and makes an effort to shake everyone's hands and talks to each individual applicant 2-3 times. Simply an amazing guy.

Blew me away.

Agreed. OSU sells the school extremely well. The interview day from start to finish (assuming your interviews go well, and OSU seems to have a reputation for friendly, laid back interviews, mine notwithstanding) is impressive and welcoming. There's an intangible about the way they present the school that simply manages to impress.

Dean Capers is THE MAN.

probably the most genuine and interested admissions dean of any school.
How many schools' deans personally call not just the accepted students, but ALL the applicants? I mean, some schools won't even respond to your emails, much less actually make an effort to call you.

Dean Capers rocks. When he went around and shook everyone's hands on interview day, he told me he actually heard of my undergrad! Coming from the kid who always had to explain where in the country his undergrad is, it was quite awesome to hear "oh yes, I've heard of X School".

I never received a call from Dean Capers! I applied last year and my matriculation was deferred to this year. However, I did receive a call from a sweet lady at the admissions office informing me of my acceptance. She was so excited to tell me the good news that I knew I was accepted by the tone of her voice when she introduced herself 🙂.

I'm still waiting on a call too! I'm sad that I missed my interview invite call...but I saved the voicemail 😀

If you don't mind me asking, why was your matriculation delayed? Was that your doing or theirs? I have an interview here next week. Looking forward to it 🙂

Did you apply for the deferrment? If I'm accepted, I might want to defer for a year, and I'm wondering how OSU handles requests for deferment. I know that some schools are rather strict, whereas other schools automatically allow you to defer.

Anybody interviewing Monday and want to split a cab to the airport? PM me or reply in thread.

If you're talking about getting to the airport from the school, the admissions staff there was pretty helpful in organizing rides for people to get to the airport after the interview day was over.

In fact, I think the first things they asked me when I showed up were 1) what's your name 2) did you bring your picture and 3) when's your flight out/do you have a ride to the airport

Hi everyone! I've been lurking on here for a while. A quick question: if I have received an interview in the ohio area, could I ask Ohio State to find out the decision so I wouldn't have to fly back twice. Would Ohio State let me know my decision or do they not really like that.

not sure. it's worth a try. the thing is that Ohio State is very picky about who they interview.

For those of you who interviewed on October 12th, thoughts on when we'll hear? When they said 10 business days, did they mean tomorrow or Monday?
Eeeeeeeeek!😀
