My interviewer was warm and friendly. Maybe your overall experience is greatly skewed by how your interview went since it is the most important part of your day. Not everyone will come out of it with the same opinion.
Part of the reason why I loved OSU so much was because of my host. She picked me up from the airport, took me to dinner, and also dropped me off. She was extremely accommodating and even let me borrow her jacket. I am from Arizona so I did not bring the proper jacket with me. It was warm but it didn't look very nice, especially for an interview.

My interviewers were super friendly and nice. The best interviewers I have had so far. I thought they did a great job really providing for you and making sure you were comfortable. Obviously, the Medical Center is just amazing.
My student host also picked me up at the airport, went to dinner with me, and was just an awesome guy. I think everyone's experience is different, but OSU was definitely impressive for me.

watch out:
"Blackout dates apply November 20, 2009 through December 1, 2009 and December 18, 2009 through January 4, 2010. If any portion of travel falls on a blackout date the discount will not apply"
laaaaammmee 🙁
I just had my interview TODAY. It was really informative! I feel like I got a good sense of OSU, and I can say that I am excited to potentially go here!!!
but yeah my interviewers were friendly. Not overbearing and super excited, but they smiled, responded to my jokes, and overall were relaxed and gave me a good impression!
*crossing my fingers in the meantime!* lets hope i get in!

I had a different experience with my host. Though I'm grateful that I was able to crash on the couch. My host did not pick me or drop me at the airport, did not have food available at the house and was unwilling to take me out to buy food and in result each time I needed to eat, I had to walk blocks to some local restaurants (in the rain)... and dropped me off on campus for my interviews 2 hours in advance because she had class.
Like I said, I'm grateful for the couch and that saved money on hotel fees and I'm glad that I had a ride to the campus. But this was a very different hosting experience than I had grown accustomed to.

It didn't deter from the school. I was just caught a bit off guard. 😳

No offense, but what's so special about this school? Why are you so positive about this school? I think it's over-hyped. I recently went there for an interview and wasn't impressed with the atmosphere, students, and faculty (except Dean Capers--he's awesome). The interviews sucked--the interviewers never cracked a smile, but I kept smiling and being positive. I heard a lot of negative comments about other interviewers from my fellow interviewees. For example, one interviewer explicitly told an applicant with Ph.D in Harvard that research is a bad thing. WTF? Maybe it was just a bad day at OSU...

I think this is true.

well idk about other ppl, for me the biggest thing is continuing to be a buckeye is pretty awesome, there is just so much history and tradition
I think this is true.
Well, their lunch was especially good.😀
I got accepted ^^ YAY!
I was wondering about housing? Does anyone know how to go about doing it? I've looked online, and it doesn't say much about what each on campus housing is like (like doubles or singles) and seems a bit more like undergraduate housing (halls etc.)
Could anyone give some tips about how they applied for housing? or is this way too premature? (i'm also hoping to find an apartment mate!)
thanks guys!

If you want to find an apartment, I'd suggest coming here winter break and looking for some, leases on campus are usually due by jan/feb. But if you want to live away from campus you can come down in the summer.
I got accepted ^^ YAY!

Right now I wouldn't worry about housing too much, I was still looking for housing 3 weeks before class started and had no trouble finding a great place! Columbus is definitely a renter's market. People find roommates mainly through second look day and also the facebook group that usually gets started up.
Most of the med school student don't live on campus. There is plenty of cheap and affordable housing within walking distance. Places where a lot of people live in would include the streets right by the med school, an area called Victorian Village and a complex called the Meridian.
If you plan to have a car this opens up your options further and a good number of us also live 10-15 minutes drive away in really nice complexes.
+1, good lookin linkin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍

It takes about a week. Wait until next week to see what happens to the host assigning.
Just to clarify... first 2 years here are pass/fail correct?
No they said they have honors.

I've been accepted into both. They don't seem to have a lot in common. Both have a very different atmosphere. UC has a nicer newer med building, I think OSU has more resources, happier students, etc. Functional differences are Honors/High Pass/Pass/Fail for UC with nonblocked classes. OSU has blocked classes and Pass/Fail with Honors at the high end.
Oh, and cincy has a better football team

I applied to Ohio State but I am being considered for their post-bacc program. My MCAT score was not very good 😱😡😱 Does anybody know more about their program?? I am OOS.
Thanks and congratulations to those accepted!!😍![]()
The postbacc program at ohio state is called Medpath. Basically if you are accepted into it, you take year of various courses that get you prepared for med school (such as physiology, anatomy, chem etc). If you pass all these courses, then you are automatically guaranteed entrance into the following year's class. You can basically think of it as getting into med school, but just for five years instead of 4. I think they accept around 30 people out of 110 or so candidates. This year I think there are 27 or so in the M1 class.
way to rain on our parade after a season-changing win.Oh, and cincy has a better football team

we'll see who's standing in a couple of weeks, hater.
As long as he doesn't say Michigan is better.😀
That would just be laughable though.

Phone calls don't necessarily come before decisions appear on the status page. I got my phone call about 4 days after my status page updated. AND, the email telling you that your status changed can come late.
