My girlfriend got accepted last night! It's her first one! 😀

Just got the status change e-mail.😀 What a cool powerpoint!

Awesome work guys! Congratulations on the acceptances.

I was surprised to find out that Dr. Capers is coming to my school (Cleveland State University) on Thursday to give a presentation for the American Medical Student Association. I'm going to make it a point to be there and help him sell OSU! Not to mention thank him in person for the great interview day and acceptance.

Alright, so who else that has been accepted here has also been accepted to Case Western? The Second Look weekends are on the same weekend! What do I do 😕

Anyone else from earlier batches not gotten a letter yet? I'm thinking about just going to the office and pay

does anyone know if delaying your decision on whether or not to accept affects your competitiveness for scholarships/F.A.?
i.e., if I decide to accept sooner rather than later, does that improve my chances at a better financial aid package? i'm under the impression that it doesn't, but I just wanted to check to be sure...

why don't you hit accept and then decide by may 15

Always "accept" your acceptances... this shouldn't take any thought. If you withdraw eventually, you'll get your deposit back (except for some D.O. schools). You generally only have a small amount of time to take the acceptance anyway (maybe a few weeks).

i would assume that they would offer you more money if you were uncertain which school to pick so as o convince you.

Actually there are some allopathic schools that won't give you the deposit back, like FIU which has a 200 dollars non-refundable deposit. OSU gives you until May 15th to pay the deposit, so you don't even have to give the 25 bucks to them until then.

If you hold multiple acceptances -- which one can -- isn't that being uncertain of which school to go to? After all after hitting accept, one will look at the fin aid package that eventually gets offered.

On the other hand, you dont want to miss that accept deadline, & consequently not be considered.

👍

I don't know exactly when, but the schools will eventually be able to see your other acceptances and then they might offer you money. If you are the bomb, or a URM, you might get offered money up front in an attempt to dissuade you from doing to your other interviews and considering other options.

I should have elaborated on what i was thinking but others have mentioned it. by being uncertain i did mean holding multiple acceptances and not being sure where to go for financial reasons. I think in such a case first of all for OSU you should go ahead and accept online just to reserve your spot. but the snail mail they send you with the deposit due is not due till May so that is what i meant you should perhaps hold off on until you get financial packets.

Interview invite this morning! But not until 2/22... Am I just interviewing for a spot on the waitlist at that point?

Nevermind, I think I might have figured it out. I got an e-mail from them a while ago with my student ID.

i was accepted just this monday, and i set it up on wed. ish.

The email is a osu.edu email tho, which I already got one as an undergrad, but the med students have osumc.edu emails...

So you would get both if you're an OSU undergrad accepted to med school?

Hello everyone!

Grats on all these acceptances!! 🙂

I got an invite for Feb this morning... :soexcited:

Hey All -
I have a question because I received an interview invite a while ago and my interview is confirmed for 2 weeks from now. However, I haven't received an e-mail yet explaining the day and the schedule and where to go. Do they send that out closer to the interview, or should I call them? My interview invite was through a status update and I confirmed it right then. Thanks for any response, I am really looking forward to OSU and congrats to everyone who is accepted all ready.

Just click on your status in your status page. A letter with all the details should come up.

wow, i feel incredibly stupid. Thank you Blue! Sometimes the easiest things confuse me greatly.

You went ahead and linked it on facebook? I was thinking about doing this (just got my email address for Wright State yesterday and I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up going there), but I wasn't sure how people would react if I put my future grad school on there seeing as I still have 6 months of undergrad left before I start working on the M.D.

does anyone have any recommendations for hotels from the OSU list (shuttles?) It seems like there won't be any students available to host when I interview....🙁
