Hey all, so after having an interview at Stanford this week, just wanted to offer my opinion and hopefully bring this thread back to life!
It seems as though this was the first week of interviews and there were only two of us interviewing! The most that they ever do in one day seems to be 5 or 6. The day was wonderful, incredibly personalized, right down to the sandwich that you have for lunch. Interviews with one student and one faculty member, both were incredibly relaxed, with a few challenging questions, but nothing stressful. Even the presentation on the school from one of the Deans was just an interactive Q&A with just the three of us. Everyone wants to know why you feel Stanford is a good fit for you, but also to show you everything that Stanford has to offer. Every student that I met was amazingly nice and helpful, and hard pressed to come up with any downside to their experience. People seem happy, the facilities are gorgeous, as is the campus. Even if Palo Alto isn't the most exciting city, it has a cool charm and is so close to so many other cities with so much to offer. Trying not to get too attached, but I have to say that it was a fun, informative, and very cool day.
Hopefully more people will post invites and interview experiences. Seems like they go slow because they are interested in really getting to know you. Everyone I talked with in the admissions office knew my file really, really well, and I felt they genuinely wanted to get to know me.
