Invite here, when I checked there was still Oct 29th available, but I couldn't make that so I chose later in November. I guess they only have a couple slots per time.

That's so weird. When I scheduled October and November were completely empty and only December had available dates.

hey for those of you who got accepted...do we have to immediately pay the $100 or do we wait for them to mail us something? The website doesn't seem very clear about that...

and is the $100 refundable if we withdraw later?

interview is extremely easy going here. Loved the school. But yah you wil be fine for interview trust me. Good luck

so my status page tells me i'm accepted into temple. how does this $100 deposit thing work? obviously we have to pay the $100 deposit to hold our place in the class, but how long do we have to do this before they revoke our acceptance? When would we get the money back (i don't anticipate matriculating here)?

You should probably call them to ask that question. You will get it refunded if you withdraw from the school.

Did your status change to accepted today? Also can you tell us when you interviewed? Thanks~

how's the interview here? i interview next week.

The usual: Why med, why Temple. Have a lot of good questions prepared to ask. Substantiate answers with examples from your experience. It's really helpful to check out the Interview Feedback on SDN.

OOS, 37/3.9. Complete 1 month. No invite yet. What's going on?

I'm sure it's coming. Maybe they're swamped since everyone tries to get their apps in latest by Sept.

I just got an invite too... but how did you get Oct 29th?

Nothing was open for me until the first week of December.

There was only two time slots available for Oct. 29th. All of November had been taken. I figured the earlier the better, plus I live in Philly and only a subway ride away from the school.

my status changed on oct. 15th and i interviewed at the very end of september

Does anyone have any idea of when the next round of decisions will be out? I've been fairly relaxed throughout this process, but am so antsy about hearing back from temple. :luck:

my interviewer told me the next meeting is this Friday, i interviewed 10/14 and she said there is a good chance i would be included in that batch... but who know! Does anyone know if they change the status on the site on those Fridays?

For those who received interview invites this week, do you mind posting stats and/or completion dates if not already shown on your profile?

Not necessarily. I got a 31, and I've taken the MCAT 3 times (P11 V 9 B 11. So there's still hope! So all you people applying, hang in there!

GPA: 3.8 overall

Completed Early August. Got the interview invite yesterday,

Forgot to ask if you invitees are OOS or IS? How important is that at Temple? Also forgot to say Congrats!

i heard it was about 50/50 =/

Fall 2007 Admissions Statistics Total admissions data 9890 applied, 817 interviewed, 539 were accepted, 178 enrolledIn-state admissions data 1110 applied, 218 interviewed, 187 were accepted, 77 enrolledOut-state admissions data 8780 applied, 599 interviewed, 352 were accepted, 101 enrolled

so they interview about 20% of their IS applicants and they interview around 7% of their OOS applicants
Hope that helps

Is there any advantage for people from bordering states, e.g., Delaware, Maryland, Jersey?

i am not sure but i am guessing not...the whole point of giving IS students an advantage is to reward them (or their parents) for paying taxes in that particular state

for those of you who have gotten accepted...did yall recieve anything in the mail yet? email?

got an interview invite today!

OOS, 3.60 gpa, 33q mcat (11p-10v-12b).

Congratulations! Seems like quick turnaround time for those completing in October. Maybe that's the time to complete at Temple. I wonder if they have a lull in application submissions around this time each year.

Those of you who have been accepted or interviewed, can someone please send me a copy of the financial aid/tuition handout?

I interviewed on the first day and they didn't have one prepared at that point.

PM me for the email address, thanks!!

Wow, I was blown away. I interviewed and loved the ppl, and the place. Def moved to the top of my list. I hope they love me back haha.

Oh and I wish it was cheaper.

Agree with you 100%... Did not expect it to be that amazing. Everyone is so nice and the building is awesome. SO EXPENSIVE... i hear there is an ADCOM meeting tomorrow, fingers crossed.

Ya, the adcom meets every fri. but I won't be in tom's batch, and next week they have the official opening for the new building, so no meeting. I won't hear for a while 🙁 But GOOD LUCK. It would seriously be my number one if it wasn't for the steep price!

for the people that recently got interviews when are you guys interviewing? I might have to interview in jan. because all the dec. dates are right in the middle of finals for me. Do you think it would affect my chances of getting in? The admissions office wouldnt give me a clear answer and they have already been handing out acceptances. I dont want to reduce my chances of getting in but at the same time i dont want to travel around during such a busy time

I haven't heard since I interviewed 9/29.. not sure why. Hoping to be in tomorrow's batch then.

Good luck!

Yeah, I haven't heard yet for 9/24 interview! Makes me even more worried if they've overlooked/misplaced my application, b/c once my online status changed from Interview Complete --> Under Review. I called them and it's a mistake, now it's Interview Complete. I hope Under Review doesn't mean they've misplaced my app to the pre-interview pile.

I think a few weeks difference is not a critical difference. B/c I've interviewed on 9/24, and haven't heard yet. Others who interviewed on the same day as me have received decisions. So it depends on if your interviewer made it to the AdCom meeting on Fri so they can evaluate your application after interview. If your interview didn't make it until 2 weeks later, then others who've interviewed after you may have had their case presented and given a decision. Then again, you may be the lucky ones who got a decision in 2 weeks since interview. So whether interviewing few weeks earlier or later give you an advantage or not kind of depends. But it never hurt to interview earlier. But I don't it matters too much. Unless you already have a medical school acceptance, then you can take a chance and let your grades perhaps lapse a bit. But if you haven't had an acceptance, and may have to reapply next year, then put holding up your grades as priority. Just my opinion.

Does anyone know what time the ADCOM meeting actually is

Does anyone know if they care for 'in the area' emails?

I don't know their official position but my guess is they don't. Philly has 4 med schools, and NY and DC is only 2+ hours away, and there are 10,000 applicants to Temple. That means a large number of applicants is in the area and they can't accommodate for all of them.

What you can do is write a letter of interest genuinely conveying your interest to go to Temple. How you stand out, be a good match at Temple. And include in it that you'll be around on these days, and hope to interview there. Send it to them under "Send us stuff" tab on the application portal. That's my take on that.

So, I've been complete at Temple since August 1st or so...and I finally got an interview invite today. December 16th w00t.

Don't, don't, don't lose hope!!

Could be... I'm OOS, but I'm also going to school in Philly, I don't know if that changes anything.

It might be a little early for this since it seems like early submitters are still getting interviews, but has anyone tried sending an update letter or calling the admissions office?
