i agree though, unless they changed something in their admissions this year they should take the same amount of people. maybe more people are hanging on to their acceptances?
or maybe its taking them a while to "clean up" the spots post may 15th. i'd lose hope if no one hears anything by this friday. because then it would be june...then maybe only a few people will get lucky...

Well you can already tell its totally different from last year.....the first waitlist acceptances were sent out the 21st. More people are probably matriculating this year because of the new school. The waitlist doesn't seem to be budging, or else it would have by now. I dont know about you guys, but im not nearly as optimistic anymore and am starting my plan B.
 
It could be because May 15th fell on a Saturday, and that pushed things back a bit. I still think it's too early to tell.
 
I contacted the admissions office last week and spoke with Dr. Uknis, who said "as the May 15th deadline has recently passed, we are hoping to be able to get to our waiting list in the next couple of weeks."

So there may be hope for us yet!

how in the world did you get thru to her?? i cant get past the lady who picks up the phone...

I'm SO tired of waiting on Temple, and its dumb keeping everyone on the same "playing field" game-plan!!!! The wait list hasn't even STARTED to move yet. At least other schools give you an answer "class is full for now", "just accepted few recently, wait for more seats to open", or "we're delayed, don't expect to hear back until"....etc. Calling the office is pointless. Can't get anything answered. It's frustrating 😡

wow the next COUPLE WEEKS....thats awhile to wait...i might have a meltdown by then 😱
 
hey guys,

i've been checking this thread a lot as i was on the wait list too. so i feel like i should let you all know- i just got the call today from ms. demmler and i'm in! so, the wait list is moving. she told me i was the first call so i think they were just a little slow on getting through things. good luck guys and i hope you hear soon!

Did they ask you to make your decision over the phone?

Oh wow, congrats! Did they inform you by email or status change too?
 
I didn't have a status change yet, and she told me that they would mail the acceptance packet later this week and I would probably (with the holiday) get it early next week. No email or anything else, I think it was more an informational call than anything else. But thanks everyone, and I hope you hear soon! I'll let you know if I get a status change as well.
 
i really appreciate that someone became a member just to inform us that the waitlist was moving...we were seriously going crazy

and this sort of throws me off...when i called the admissions office like a bajillion times last week the lady kept saying if an offer was going to be made, the status would change and an e-mail would be sent. i guess i better keep my phone in reach too in addition to the constant status checking...
 
I'm anxiously waiting on the waitlist movement as well. I called them up and got similar answers as everyone else. Glad to see someone got in though! Hopefully we hear more phone calls in the next week or two.
 
Got a call this morning but was sleeping, so I woke up to a voicemail from Mrs. Demmler asking me to call the admissions office. I called back and left her a message with my number and got an email 15 minutes later saying I was accepted with 3rd and 4th year rotations at the St. Luke's Campus (My 2nd Choice). My online status changed from "Correspondence Sent" back to "Interview Complete", which is a little weird.
I really love Temple and was blown away by the facilities and the students at my interview, but I also got into Georgetown 2 weeks ago (where i've spent the past year in a masters program). The email says I have 7 days to decide, so i'm gonna go up to Philly and check out the school again next week. Leaning towards Gtown at the moment but well see how my visit goes. If I withdraw, ill cross my fingers that one of you gets the spot.
 
Call came in at 11am. I'm in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Applied to 16 schools, 2 interviews, 1 rejection and 1 acceptance! 😉
Too stunned to ask any questions, I said thanks and hung up. I'll call back and ask logistics questions tomorrow.

Good Luck to the rest of the waitlisters!

got accepted this morning! by email thou..i dnt kno why some people get calls..mabye its because i live on the west coast? regardless....i have no idea what attachment A says bc it wasnt included?! someone let me know...ill check templemedonline... :luck:

Congrats!

Attachment A will be in your letter of acceptance, sent to you via snailmail. In a nutshell, here's what it says:


1) Satisfactory completion of all courses noted on your application, including graduation
2) Successful completion of Temple's premed requirements (8 credits Bio with lab, 8 credits Gen Chem with lab, 8 credits Orgo with lab, 8 credits Physics with lab, and 6 credits humanities)
3) Maintenance of good standing at your academic institution
4) Completion of a Pennsylvania child abuse screening
5) Completion of a criminal background check
6) If you retake the MCAT, your performance must meet or exceed your prior performance
7) Attendance of Orientation (August 2nd - 6th)

First pay your tuition deposit. Then go on TMO and click "Tuition Deposit", and there will be a bunch of info there for you.

Word on the underground is this year 98% of the musical chairs will end about June 15th. Most likely there will be the 2% weesils that holdout for their dream school, give $100 deposit and their word they are coming. They will back out July 10th, and 2 to 4 more slots will appear.

I PM'd a re-applicant a few months back, that was strictly Temple focused. In Summer 2009, he grilled the final 3-4 people to get in off the waitlist last year (of course that post on SDN). The final July applicant was 3.49 gpa/30 MCAT/limited research, decent EC's. Of course every year, there will be slight variation, but thats your reference.

I wonder how many more open spots Temple has left... Really hoping for a :luck: upcoming week!
 
Since they opened some spots last Wed/Thurs and gave the applicants 7 days to decide, they probably won't open any more spots until at least Thursday, right? 😕

Question though, I can't find the pre-orientation information on TempleMedOnline...I paid the tuition deposit but I still don't see any links to additional information.
 
Congrats! After you paid the tuition deposit, have you logged into TMO and clicked the link at the top that says "Tuition Deposit"? That's where all the info is.
 
I don't see a "Tuition Deposit" link..is it supposed to be next to the other links in red such as "Supplemental" and "Materials"? Maybe it takes a while to process the deposit in order to get that link to show up? I paid it two days ago by clicking the link at the bottom of the "Accepted" page.

Yeah, it should be up top between "Send Us Stuff" and "Logout." Maybe it'll take a couple of days, I don't remember if it did for me.
 
it took 2 days for me just last week!

Not me either...I wish we had some indication of how many people are on the "continuing candidate" list and furthermore, our individual rankings. It's hard to accept that we are not given access to Any information.

Do you think its safe to assume that by end of June if still on the wait list we are not getting in to Temple?
 
I just withdrew from Temple. Temple is a great medical school and I hope one of you on the waitlist gets my spot very soon!

How long is everyone waiting before submitting the AMCAS for 10-11 cycle? Definitely not something we want to do....but has to be done at some point. 🙄
