I got the "acceptable range" letter today. =\ Interviewed 10/19

I really how many people are rejected post-interview. The letter says the "great majority" of interviewed candidates are put in the acceptable range, which makes me less hopeful for an actual acceptance.
Ditto. I've pretty much accepted an eventual rejection from Tulane, although I'll try to update them every now and then.

If so many are put in the "acceptable range", how does the waitlist work around here?

Acceptable range here too.

My sense of their process is that you now have a raw score that will be utilized somewhat in shuffling your application from here on out. But they will fill the class as they like to build and maintain their idea of diversity as time progresses an accepted applicants drop out.

at our interview explained that it is an average from 1-10. To stay in the running you have to beat last class' average (about a 6), and they pull from the top as the season progresses. I would say definitely send updates if you have any, as they can modify your score IIRC. Good luck guys!

Rejected 🙁

Complete 8/18, received complete/under review email 10/02

Does the acceptable range letter come by email or snail mail?

Does the acceptable range letter come by email or snail mail?

mine came by email as an attachment. Not sure if hard copies follow later.

I'm thinking I really like Tulane. My love letters should begin before christmas. We'll see. Let's keep each other posted on waitlist movement.

Heh. Right there with ya. My first -actual- rejection. Meh.😉

Congrats to everyone else who got in, Good luck to all those still to interview!

First rejection of the year.

At least I know instead of waiting.

 Those are pretty much my exact sentiments right now, for a good number of my schools

WOHOO!!!! I got in also!!! O my god my first acceptance...such a relief. Thank god! 😀😀😀

I just got the email acceptance note. Does anyone know what they mean by "telling us your intent". Like are you just suppose to say "I accept your offer". I don't want to to say "I intend to go to Tulane" this early, just b/c I want to see what my options are in the future.

Sorry if that's a dumb question. It's my first acceptance, so I really don't know what to do.... 😛

Well first, CONGRATS on the acceptance! I hope you go out and celebrate properly.

And no, it's not a dumb question. I had the same thought running thru my mind when I received the email. I think I just wrote them something along the lines of "I am writing to notify you that I intend to accept your offer to matriculate at Tulane summer 2010..." or something like that. It was a short and simple email.

Congrats again to everyone with acceptances here!

Thanks!!! OOh ok, so that wouldn't be leading them on right? Ok thanks for your help. Also did you wait for the official letter to come, or did you just send them an email right after the acceptance notification?

It says on their acceptance email that you should do it in a week from when you receive your official letter. Sorry again for all the questions

congratulations, Tulane ppl!

and yes, just write and say that you accept the offer. it's non-binding at this point. I just said something like "I am writing to accept the offer..." I may also have said "I'm so excited!" and used a bunch of exclamation points. so professional, lol....

I'm pretty set on moving to NOLA...I already have the NOLA weather report as an app on my iphone. I've become quite fond of informing my friends that it is usually 20 to 30 F warmer there than it is where we are right now:laugh:

I know I'm already excited!!!!! 7 months so far from now....

Yeah, I waited until I received the official letter in the mail (was uncertain if it would be the same email to respond to).

It's exciting to see my potential (I'm like 95% sure I'm attending) class form right before my eyes!!!

I just found out that I am in!
Interviewed this Monday-THAT WAS FAST!
Prob withdrawing apps from all but 2 of my other schools!

I know. I was so surprised-I thought it was something like "fill out this survey"...I didn't dare hope when I saw that email sitting pretty in my inbox

I also got the acceptance email today!! So excited I loved Tulane!!!! I didnt respond back, it says to wait for the official letter. I am definitely going to celebrate this weekend!! Congrats everyone!

Interviewed Friday. Email acceptance today. Loved the students I met. Good luck to all those still in process.

Congrats you guys! Join the facebook group if/when you definitely decide. It's cool that some of us will be classmates.

Just wondering who everyone interviewed with.

Wow looks like a great day for Tulane C/O 2014! Congrats on the acceptances guys!

Dr. Chad Miller, Dr. Tim Harlan, and my T2 student was this guy named Ben.
Hmm I don't think any of those people were interviewing on my day lol.
I got Dr. Reynolds and Father Don for faculty. It felt really good to hear Father Don say that he hopes that I come to Tulane but I never imagined he was 100% serious. 😀
Natalie was my T2-she was really fun to talk to.

Congrats guys. I am still waiting to hear from Tulane. I am really holding out for Tulane. Ive gotten rejected from all but 3 schools 🙁 Sure would like to get in somewhere and being able to live in NOLA would be awesome!

Complete today. Submitted secondary 9/10.

Dr. Sneed and Dr. Beckman (both were extremely nice). My student was Justin (also a really good guy).

yay!

I responded to the email...didn't want to give them the chance to change their minds😀

Haha I know, I'm probably gonna respond right away too. I can't wait until the letter comes 😀....

Hopefully the email address is the same as the one with the acceptance notification....

Dr. Miller didn't think he was interviewing on my day either. It was kinda awkward funny when I showed up in his office.

actually, now that I think about it I did wait for the letter before responding...I remember this now b/c the letter contained the email address to which the response was to be sent. the address was mentioned 2x but there was a typo in the first mention. It was pretty obvious which one was correct, but they sent us an email pointing out the typo.

anyway. I interviewed w/Father Don and Dr. Beckman. had a great time talking with them.

I just watched the Spike Lee documentary about Hurricane Katrina. so heartbreaking. to cheer myself up, I'm going to see this at the weekend: http://www.tremedoc.com/

/randomness

Haha, o ok. Thanks for letting me know. I guess I should just wait for the letter. 🙂

I'm so glad to hear that so many people have already made up their minds about attending Tulane!

Haha-at least you didn't have to wait for him to get there first!
Happened to me at Morehouse-I just smiled and acted like nothing out of the ordinary even happened.
That was a great interview too!

The T1s told us that if Father Don kicks you out in like 15 minutes you prob can forget about an acceptance. So when my interview with him was over and I felt it was really short I nearly had a heart attack.Thankfully the clock confirmed that I did spend the entire 30 minutes in there. Haha

pretty pumped, just got invited here...sorta out of the blue, its my first intvite in 3 months.

i am traveling for a dec 11 date. still too early for class to be filled, right?

EDIT: also, how big is the class size? how many are invited to interview?

I believe they say around 500-600 out of 7000 applications. So it is very difficult.

175-180, I believe in the class (from what I remember from MSAR)

December 11th is a good date. I believe they have a good idea of their class by Feb-March though.

This is slightly off-topic, but I just so happened to get an tweet about JetBlue's sale today. If you're flying you might want to check it down. ($59 1-way tickets from NY to NOLA) idk where you're coming from, but there are some great deals.

Got rejected from Tulane, Complete late September.....but I interviewed at Vandy........don't really care. meh, Congats to those accepted. This whole process is so random.

Acceptance range email today. Interviewed 10/26.

and now we play the waiting game

Thanks Ali and Pink for the info.

like I said, SUPER excited. the stats are really good for those that get invited. i like my chances and am looking forward to traveling.

I got the impression that Father Don's opinion pulls a lot of weight over there in general - based on the way that everybody talks to/about him (in a good way). When I felt like my interview with him went well, that did a lot for my confidence level at the end of the day.

same for my spy...they must be looking throw again. when are u goin? im dec 11th
