OMG!!!!! I just got the call from Sandy!!!!! After 6 months of waiting I'm in!!!!

Hey, I got a call too 🙂 I saw the 323 number and when she said "This is Sandy Rodriguez", I blurted "Oh my god, this is great news!" Woops. She is probably used to outbursts.

I will be there this fall. Are you?

I don't think so. I really wanted Drew but they took so long getting back to me that I've already decided to go to UCSD. The good news is that opens up a spot for someone else still waiting. Good luck to all of those who are still waiting and congrats on being accepted!!!!

Thank you. 😍 I remember reading elsewhere that this was your number one choice, and I'm sure the decision wasn't easy. But yes, thank you for opening this spot up to the rest of us.

Nothing post-interview, I still have the "Interview: completed, please allow 4 wks post interview" status online. I'm ready to KNOW ALREADY!

Yea seriously... I'm expecting a post interview rejection around late May. If they aren't going to accept me I wish they would just reject me now. I need to start looking for roommates for a place all the way across the country, but can't make any firm commitments yet.

Unless you performed horribly to the point where you ended up walking out of the building with your tail between your legs, I think you would be put on the waiting list first. Rejection letters probably won't come until after the class has begun orientation so that they can leave all of their options open.

Yeah, most schools do practice this method, but Drew is not most schools/programs. They can't afford to be, what with having a second piece of red tape that is UCLA itself calling some of the shots.

I read last year's thread again, and though things may have changed significantly since that time, the rejected received letters around this time and more in May, and the waitlisted received status emails (though some people reported not getting either). Hopefully everyone will find out something...just maybe not what or in the way that they were hoping.

Did anyone else receive a letter asking for financial aid documents (taxes/parent info) recently? I haven't heard back from Drew since my interview in Oct. Is this a good sign I should expect to hear something soon or does everyone waiting to hear back get this fin aid stuff?

Wow, that sounds really promising. I wonder why they would send you that before official notification of acceptance...you should call on Monday and see what's up. And then report back here. 🙂

Haha, I lied. I got it today. 😳

But I'm scared. The way they word the letter, you have to do this so they can determine if they will award you money. Like, if you ask for too much they'll say, "Psych!!! You got played sucka!! On to the next."

Guys, I was rejected post secondary a month ago and I still got the letter today. I think admissions and financial aid are totally separate (as they should be). Good luck

I got the secondary sometime in October, but never got an interview. Its cool, I'm in at another uc, so life is good. Once again good luck.

I was wondring the same thing..., but I'm not expecting anything now that it seems routine

....strange thing is, UCLA has been making decisions and sending out letters the last 2 weeks in batches that were pretty back to back... if drew was waiting on UCLA, now that the adcom has clearly met, what are they waiting for?

I called the CDU office, and they told me they should send out decisions by next week, but again that sounds so arbitrary , who knows?

I spoke with them a couple of days ago and all there saying is "If you haven't received a letter your still in the hunt to becoming America's Next Top Model." Also keep this in mind, if you don't get into Drew and you were genuine about making a change in your community, do it. You don't have to get into Drew to make that impact, that change can be done at any medical school. Believe me, I truly want to attend Drew but if not, it will not deter me from my goal to make a significant impact in my community.

Thanks for posting this, I had just gotten off the phone with Sandy and was really discouraged about hearing any good news from them. Its hard to stay optimistic when you get the same answer "next week" each time. Good luck everyone.

I called the office yesterday and I also got the same answer: "We have not reached a decision in your file yet. I will let you know as soon as we have decided"...

I think this is because you added Drew to your fafsa whereas i think financial aid for the Drew/UCLA program is handled through DGSOM fin aid office.

FWIW, I added both Drew and UCLA to my FAFSA, because I could've swore that she said monies were doled out by UCLA but I was not sure. And I made sure to do it after I had gotten an interview.

I called Sandy and I was told that there has been a hold on admissions for a few weeks and no calls have been made recently. This is either Greentea BS 😎 or the school is absolutely lying. Since I called the BS before even speaking with the school I'm going with the first option.

I spoke to her yesterday, she def got a call yesterday and was accepted, why would I lie about this? I interviewed monthsss ago and am still waiting to hear something/anything from Drew.
