So I just took the 2009 ADA Sample DAT (the free one that is on their website) in order to practice my timing for my real DAT (I'm taking it on Monday). Does anyone else who has taken this test think that it was too easy in comparison to the real thing? I am worried because my scores were...

BIO 22
GC 25
OC 25
PAT 23
RC 19
QR 21
TS 24
AA 22

This is a few points higher than I normally get in BIO and QR and quite a few points higher than I generally get in GC and OC on the various practice tests that I have taken. PAT was about the same as I normally get on CDP.

What do you think I should expect for the real exam? Is this exam way too easy in comparison or is it similar?

I'm taking my test monday as well and I also scored much higher on the free ADA sample. I don't think this is an accurate representation from what I've heard it's much too easy compared to the real thing. Topscore is probably the most accurate representation.

On the one thats available to everyone I got about 3 wrong on each science section. I ended up with 20-22 on each section on the real thing, so its definitely easier-ish but the questions will be on the same level. This is definitely the best practice test to measure whether youre ready or not.

you are talking about the 2007 ada sample test correct? the 2009 ada sample test is the one that you pay $30 for. I was wondering the same thing as far as difficulty. I heard the 2007 FREE sample test was kind of easy, but I wanted to know how the 2009 ADA sample test compared to the real thing.

The mail-order DAT was the closest to the real thing. I studied many of the popular sources out there.

I took the mail-order DAT a week before the real thing and scored basically exactly the same BIO22/GC22/OC26/PAT25/RC25/QR17

The QR on the free online DAT sample was significantly easier than the real DAT. I felt a bit robbed on that section because I was scoring consistently in the mid 20s, including the free online DAT. The real DAT QR section was so much tougher that I ended up with a score of 17. They threw a bunch of stuff at me I hadn't seen before or was much harder than the practice problems. The eraser was terrible and the calculator was much too slow to bother with.

All the other sections were the exact same level of difficulty as the mail-order DAT.

Good luck!

That means I need to review my stuff then... i just did the ADA 2009 yesterday and got a 18AA... 19 TS and 24 PAT, test on the 13th.

Thanks for all the responses! I won't get to comfotable with these scores and will do some reviewing tomorrow. Unfortunately it's too late for me to get the mail order ADA sample test, but I think I will be okay. Ahhh! I can't believe the test is Monday! I am actually feeling pretty calm and confident. I hope that isn't a bad thing!
