Is TMDSAS allowing you all to update your Fall 2008 grades? I tried to yesterday and it didn't work...

Also, do any of you know when we have to update them by?
 
I don't think TMDSAS allows you to do so... I think you just send updated transcripts to the schools individually.

u need to e-mail them with your name and ID and ask to update. I had it done last year.

so you don't need to mail TMDSAS your official transcript? 🙄
i think it would be funny if all you need to do is tell them your grades without having anything official to back yourself up 😛

Yeah good point. I was told that you have to have the official ones mailed to TMDSAS after each semester.

should i directly go to the school and give them my updated transcript (in an enclosed, signed envelope, of course), since it's only 5 mins from my house? or does it look better if i mail it to the school?

I'm guessing that you have to have it mailed to the school from your university so that they know its an official one. Usually when a university issues you a transcript they stamp "issued to student" on it, which makes it unofficial.

sure u have to mail an official transcript to TMDSAS. In addition , you have to e-mail them and ask to update. You can always send an official transcript to the schools directly, however, all the updates are done through TMDSAS prior to your acceptance.
 
Tmdsas is pretty quite these days, anyway happy new year evereybody.🙂
 
doesn't seem like there are too many more interviews. looks like round 2 will be mostly people who are already interviewed.

fwiw, looks like its gonna be a LARGE round 2.

I HOPE so! From what people have been saying, the 2nd round should hear around the end of January/beginning of February, right?

Looks like it. If the deadlines are January 9, 14, and 15 for the three schools...I'd think late Jan would give them each enough time to process the second round.

I say it must be large because it seems the first rounds were relatively small at all 3 schools...at least compared to years past.

we have to consider predents.com is small portion of applicants. for example three acceptance for Baylor from my school don't have any clue about sdn!
 
I withdrew my acceptances from Baylor and San Antonio today....so that should open up some spots.
 
if you got accepted to more than one school, can you please tell me why you chose one over the other 🙂

After waiting and waiting, I finally got an email from Houston and my interview is on Jan 26th! I guess my invitation was not allowed by yahoo.com...luckily I contacted Houston about my app.

It sounds like many SDNers have already interviewed for Houston...anyone out there have an interview on the 26th? If so, I'll see you there.
 
Congrats on the interviews guys. I'll be giving up my spots at Houston and Baylor so that should help two people out there waiting.

San Antonio interview ivitatation gonna be by email after 2009,( at least what they said to me), I didn't get any mail for interview just an email month before the interview date.

Houston is my only invite as well...would you like to trade :laugh:? SA would be closer to my home and wife but at this point, I am happy just to get an invite!

I tried to call so I did not have to play the email waiting game but they informed me to email them. I initially wrote about the status of my app and they responded by stating my app was reviewed and up for an interview in January as the Dec spots were already filled. This was in early November. It was only in mid to late Dec that I decided to contact them again as I did not hear from them causing much unnecessary stress! I just asked again about the status of my app and when they were going to send Jan invites for interviews.

How funny. And, I thought I was the only PT out here that was changing careers into dentistry. I have read a lot of posts in the PT SDN section with PT's becoming DO's or MD's but not DDS/DMD.

So Danny are you working as a PT right now?
 
Bad news guys, so I just heard that Baylor is currently finishing up interviews and won't do anymore =[

No problem...too bad about Baylor...I am not surprised that I did not receive an interview. When I called them about the status of my app, they informed in a nice way my degrees are basically old and my higher level science courses are old as well...when did 5-6 years become old. I guess they would prefer me to get another master's degree.

No, I am not working in PT, I changed my career to pre dental 3 years ago 😀
hopefully I will remember all anatomy and physiology and kinsiology in detal school. 😀
 
anyone know what the odds are getting an acceptance if you are interviewed at UTHSC Houston? I have looked at predents.com but was wondering if there were other stats available.

I got a good laugh out of this one...lol.

I don't know man, sometimes it's really hard to tell what the schools are gonna do. You just never know. Statistics have been known to lie before (although, statistically, they are usually right, lol). In addition, UTDB is very much behind this year because of the hurricane.

Thanks! B/c of the hurricane, I'll treat my Jan interview as a Dec. one...sounds better! Hopefully, I'll see you in Houston this year.

Selection Sunday. I decided to send in my deposit money to UTDB, so I guess Ill be seeing some of you there in August! When I hear that the dental branch received my deposit, Ill be giving up my spot at Baylor if that helps anybody.

anyone have any idea how many acceptances (a rough estimate) are sent out for Houston second round?

I know these kinds of questions don't necessarily get us anywhere...but somehow they give me hope...lol

today was the last interview in San Antonio for this cycle. we were the largest group (16 people) they called many people in last minutes last week, and second round acceptance will send Feb 1. they grilled me today in interview, very detail questions from my PS!! I am not saticfied with my interview at all. 🙁 . last year was unbelivible relaxing compare to today.
Game is still on for Baylor and Houston. for baylor interview will continue till Feb( one of the kids who had interview there in Dec told that).

my PT friend be ready for this question: "Why dentistry over Physical Therapy" 👍

sorry to hear that you are not saticfied with your interview 🙁. However, I still think you have a pretty good shot! last year at SA I thought my interview went really good and it did not lead to acceptance. This year I was not happy with my interview at SA at all and , despite that, ended up being accepted on December 1st. My point is, you never know!! Keep your hopes up!! BTW, in my opinion the whole inteview process in SA this year was less organized when compaired to last year.

Sorry to hear about your interview. I am expecting to get grilled as well given my background. The "why dentistry over PT?" question is question I have been answering ever since I decided to change professions years back, so hopefully, I can answer it to their liking. So I guess, I can cross off SA off my list if I have yet to hear from them. I also do not expect much from Baylor as I already spoke with someone from admissions and she informed me (in a somewhat kind way) that my educations (BS and MS) are too old. You would think that they would be more concerned that I can handle the courses than have up to date bio courses...hopefully my houston interview goes well and hopefully they send out the 2nd round of acceptances in early Feb. with my name included!:luck::xf:👍
 
for upgrading your fall grade must send the official transcript to tmdsas.we can not do ourself like ADASAS.
