For those of you accepted to SA, all we have to do so far is return the letter of intent form, right? Has there been deposit or anything yet? I accepted the offer, but I am still hoping for Houston. Also, where do we send our Fall 2008 grades? To TMDSAS? Or to each school??

Anyone out there have an interview at Houston in Jan? Just curious to know how many of us are out there? I have one email stating "we will have a few interviews in Jan." Initially, I did not read into it, but looking at the email again, I have a feeling those who interviewed and will interview in Jan will fall after the 2nd round of acceptances. So, anyone out there that did interview in Jan already your impression would be appreciated!
Several reasons, some of which are personal and wont apply to everyone, but here they are nonetheless. 1) A lasting impression (from the interview) of enthusiastic and kind professors. 2) The students appeared relaxed, yet motivated, and they seemed genuinely interested in meeting me. 3) I'm from Houston 😉. 4) I don't have to cast a million crowns (cough, cough Baylor). 5) Houston's Medical center is par none, lending to several research opportunities and a great learning environment. 6) Houston is a wonderful city and where I think I'd like to practice. 7) The passing rates on the boards are excellent along with their attrition rate.

well I ended up choosing to attend Baylor.. already turned down Houston and will be calling SA to revoke my confirmation tomorrow!
What are the dates that you must confirm your acceptance by at Baylor, Houston or SA? i am awaiting the second round and i'm starting to get impatient because they should have already been mailed/e-mailed (at least by 1/16 last year)...

LOL! No, they sent that to everybody last year too. It has nothing to do with it. I replied that I was already accepted to dental school...😎

I did not get one this year too. I got it last year.
of course, you are not going to get any email! you don't want to spend one year in pre dental before starting your dental school do you? lol 😀

I wouldn't panic yet. Was it your only interview? Letters can take up to 3-4 days to get to Houston like they did last time.
Eh, I'm actually located in Dallas. It's my only interview that matters at this point. I've got my fingers crossed!
I'm under the impression that letters get to places within the same amount of time...two days. So mail would arrive at the same time despite the distance. God, I hope ur right.It was sometime in october...i think it was like second week???

I see that some are stressing over not receiving acceptances up to this point. I would say relax...you don't know if it will come in several days (email or mail). I have yet to interview yet (Jan 26th), so reading your posts are not helping. And for those accepted into several TX schools please do not choose Houston
as you would be helping me out!

Dude, same thing happened with one of my friends. Luckily, I dug my Houston interview invite out of the junk mail folder in Gmail. UTDB needs to find out why their material is being marked as "junk", when in fact it should be marked as gold!!

I had my interview on Nov 24th, the Monday before Thanksgiving. At the end of the day, Dr. Pierpont said something along the line: you folks won't hear from until on Dec 1st because that's too early for us to make decisions about your applications and putting them into the system.....etc. So yea, I pretty much had been waiting since that day. 😳
But I'm glad I got accepted
. Now I have to figure out how to change my name at the school and TMDSAS for criminal background check because I corrected my name when I was naturalized to become a US citizen. Does anybody in here know how I should go about this?To be honest, Houston was (and still is) my #1 so I was super nervous during the 1st 15 minutes of my interview.
I couldn't concentrate at all... but gladly, everything went well towards the end. I think I had a 'good' interviewer? I couldn't read his face expression most of the time though. It's like, you can never guess what he's thinking.
I use Gmail too and I don't think I ever had this problem.
All of my UTDB emails went straight into my Inbox folder.
