People have sent all sorts of stuff. Art, music samples, photos (no, not the legally blonde kind), thesis manuscripts, announcements of awards for sports/competitions (apparently there is a first year who is a professional knife thrower).

Hi, folks. Long time voyeur of the thread--love your work, relieved to know my potential classmates are just as neurotic as I am. But simply too much anxiety this week to sit on the sidelines. I knew I had to enter the fray.

That's the official date, but if you look at previous years' threads (yes, it's come to that), you'll see that they aren't always on time...

Not according to last year's thread....which, if you haven't read it yet, don't.
