How do they go about interviews and acceptances? Website, Email, or snail mail? I know some are still using snail mail for certain things.

they call you if you are accepted, then snail mail you everything about a week later. last year i believe i heard in 4 weeks, some people heard in 3 and others in 5 (this doesn't apply if you interviewed really early and have to wait until the oct. 15th date)

interview invites are extended via e-mail, waitlists are snail mail, and I'm not sure if they do e-mail or snail mail for rejections

My AMCAS was completed a few days ago, and I just got the invite for the secondary. Is there a way to find out if all the seats are already taken? Is there still a chance for me if I send in the secondary within the next few days?

Based on last year's thread there were still seats available in the class until March last year. If your stats are spectacular I think you'll still have a good chance of getting an interview. My stats are average and I haven't heard anything for a while since submitting in august.

I just submitted mine too. I was EDP at KU and didn't get accepted. I am apparently way behind the curve here. People were finishing their secondaries back in July which rather frightens me. Does anyone have any suggestions about the first prompt? I know about the school and why I want to attend but I am wondering if anyone knows if they are looking for anything specific.

I was wondering how much time I should give between the end of the interview day ( 3 pm) and the time my flight is leaving, 5 pm or 7 pm, I have not purchased my ticket yet and was hoping someone could give me some insight into which ticket I should buy? 🙂

If I was going to do it again I would have picked the 5pm flight instead of the 7pm flight. The Omaha airport is pretty tiny and it only takes about 10 minutes to get there from the school. You drive right up to the place without any traffic at all and getting through security takes a total of 2 minutes.

Thanks! I've been going back and forth about which time, I thought that 5 pm would be okay but just wanted to be sure. 🙂

Interview invite today for the 29th! Kind of surprised me, I haven't heard anything from this school since I submitted my secondary back at the end of July

Me too. Same timeline.

Has anyone (who already interviewed) sent an update letter to Creighton? If so, how did you format it and to whom did you address it? Thanks!

I sent it to the generic admissions email, which is what I think they told us to do at the end of the interview, so I just addressed it generally to the admissions committee.

To anyone who has already interviewed, about what time did the tour end? It says on the agenda that it ends at 2:30 and is followed by a reception that will last until 3. Im trying to catch a 3:48 pm flight which is the last flight of the day and was not sure if missing the reception would leave enough time to get to the airport. I talked to a lady in the Admissions office and she said being there an hour before my flight would be fine since the airport is small but that makes me nervous. Suggestions/advice? Thanks!

When I interviewed we finished up by 3, but the last 40 minutes or so was spent touring the school, which is something you could probably bail on. The final reception was just another chance to talk with the medstudents (*which is great if you have questions), so if you miss it for a flight probably not a big deal....An hour is plenty of time at the airport, its really small and easy to get through. One terminal as far as I remember. hope this helps

Omaha airport = best airport in United States. All the way down to the urinal cakes with writing on them. 1 hour is way more than enough time.

Purely out of curiosity - what do they say?

Also - if there's anyone who has been marked complete recently, about how long did you have to wait between submitting and being marked as complete?

Happy October 15th guys!! Good luck to everybody 🙂 ... I hope many calls go out today!

:luck:

Does Creighton notify via phone call as well? At the interview they only talked about us receiving something in the mail. Anyone know? Thanks!

Yes, they also call! Hopefully many will hear good news today 🙂 ... it's still a little early for me but it would be a nice surprise.

Good luck!

:luck:

Something like "cleanest airport in the world" which I happen to agree with

Just talked to admissions and they said that they cant make any notifications until MONDAY! What gives I thought today was the day. Anyone else remember anything different?

I'm not sure, but I heard something similar at another interview recently. She said apparently it's really 10/16. So then no acceptances would be sent until Monday since offices are closed on the weekend. Then she said that "we've been notifying on the 15th for years and I'm not holding decisions that have been made past the 15th."

So, not sure what that really means, but maybe it technically changed and some schools are adhering to it and others aren't.

Yeah, called them too. Same answer. Decisions go out Monday and they can't tell you anything until Monday... and the way she poke I had a feeling she knows exactly who got in or had the power to find out.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Any idea when more interview invites go out?

I'm a creighton undergrad as well. Did you find it on the nest?

Would that just be right on the home page? Dang it, I don't see one.

Any non-creighton undergrads hear from creighton this morning??? I'm dying to find out if I got in!

Well, apparently they do take awhile to make decisions. I interviewed mid-september and the lady (very nice btw) said the committee will reach decisions 1 week to 1.5 weeks from today. stay patient, everyone!

Yeah, I interviewed on the 24th of September. I called the admissions office and they said that it would be a few weeks until a final decision is made. Can't wait any longer!

Ugh!! Noooo. I can't take this waiting!!

I interviewed 9/17 and when I called on friday they said that they'd release admission decisions starting on monday 10/18..I don't know if I can take a few more weeks.

Okay so I decided to call.. Accepted!!! I'm on top of the world right now!!!!!!!

I was also complete a few months ago and haven't heard anything at all. I called a few days ago and someone in the office said that the director of admissions has an open door policy. I was wondering if anyone has called and talked to him about how to make their app more competitive or anything like that? I really like this school and would do whatever it took (more shadowing or something) to get an interview. I just don't know if calling would help or hurt my chances...

Decided to break down and call as well................ Accepted!!!!!!!!!!! Representing the east coast over here.

Congratulations to everybody!! I hope I'll be joining you guys soon!

:luck: :luck: :luck:

Thanks guys! Good luck everyone!!!

Just work up the courage to call!! They're super nice.

As for the open door policy it's on Thursday afternoons I believe. I don't think it could hurt to give them a call and discuss your status??

question...when you guys called who did you ask for to find out if you were accepted or not? can the admissions secretary tell you or do u need to talk to someone more specific?

waitlisted =(

I called them about it earlier and left a voicemail, they just called back and I told them I had interviewed there and was getting a little nervous and wondered how they notify people about acceptance, waitlist, etc. She told me that they send out letters and the letters have just gone out in the mail and then she told me my letter was an offer for an acceptance. It made my day, hopefully you guys will get some good news too. I interviewed on 9/17 if anyone was wondering.

got a call during class, it was awesome. i can't wait for some hardcopy proof thooo

Is everyone getting called who found out they were accepted?

from the students i talked to during my interview, it seemed like you get a call if youre accepted. i interviewed september 10 if that helps anybody get a reference on the timeline

Got the call from Dr. Quinn! Of course, I had already checked with admissions like an hour beforehand, soo it was funny trying to pull off the I'm-hearing- this-for-the-first-time, can't-believe-it reaction! This is amazing!
