1st Interview Invite!! Yes!

Complete 7/23, Interview invite 8/26

Did anyone try calling admissions office to see if there will be another batch of interview dates posted soon? All the fridays and mondays are fully booked >.<
 
I was also wondering about the student hosting program. Do they actually have one or should I book a hotel room?

If anyone could give me some advice that would be much appreciated 🙂

I called and they said no more would be posted (or at least maybe until the sept. 9th date we have to schedule by)...
 
does anyone know if the interviewer will have read the personal statement or not?
 
does anyone know when the next round of interviews will go out? have any rejections gone out yet?

Rejected 3.8, 32...kinda question if there is something wrong with my application...like a weird LOR or something..although I do have two interviews...*le sigh*

We both got rejected from Tulane and Georgetown today... Wow... Sucks...

For the record Georgetown really needs to man up and send a real rejection email instead of sending an email that says to look at your status and then going to your status to find a freaking rejection. Rude.

I wouldn't worry, I got a rejection as well, and I have done quite well thus far
 
Just got the rejection notice as well. I thought they were one of the schools that do "silent rejections" so when I got the notice, I was like "WTF?! They went out of their way to reject me? I must be really bad." LOL.

Seriously. The e-mail says, "A decision has been made regarding your application...please log in to find out.." A decision huh? Gee I wonder what that could be.

True... I realized it was likely a rejection... But they need to just tell me so I can not waste time on it by logging in. I mean really...
 
For those of you who heard back, when were you complete? I still haven't hear anything from the school.
 
Submitted the secondary 7/12, complete 7/22.
 
Primary submitted 6/25, secondary submitted 7/9, complete after LORs sent 7/20. Rejected 9/1. Took them over a month...
 
sorry to all those who got rejections. started to get a bit nervous myself. was complete 8/18 so i am assuming they haven't even read my app yet...

QFT! I was totally expecting a rejection but still...logging in with your ID and PIN. Just tell it to me straight
 
Damn! And their page is one of those where the message appears as a "pop up" window, after you log in!!... All it needs now is to flash REJECTED, REJECTED !!! WTF....

One could be scarred for life...

Either they are trying to use less man power to save our app fees or they are scared!

Me... They usually come in Thursday, but nothing here. And nobody seems to have posted an invite yet... :xf:
 
that's interesting. i hadn't noticed the thursday pattern. any ideas what time invites come on thursdays?
 
earliest post last week was at about 8 am...
 
for those of you still waiting to hear back, when were you guys complete? i was on 8/17.

penn i believe they were complete earlier. there are others who were complete later on than them. so it will take some time.
 
8/9 Here... the wait is killing me especially because I have an interview at GWU already...

yeah the wait is hard, but man be happy that you at least have GWU.

Yeah, I'm wondering this too. My interview is in two weeks, so I don't want to wait so long that I'm not going to be able to get a good/close/relatively inexpensive hotel room if no student hosting is available...

Hey Keem,

Just a suggestion. I actually sent an "in the update" email to Georgetown after receiving an invite from GWU, telling them I was going to be in the area to interview at another school. I asked my prehealth advisor about it, and she said that some schools would consider the email, and the worse thing that could happen was that the school could say no (maybe it would be followed by a rejection). I worded mine very carefully not to come off demanding or presumptuous.

I never got a direct response to the email but I was sent an interview invite less than a week after I was considered "complete" which I have not seen for anyone else on this board (complete 8/6, invite 8/12). I am convinced that my email actually did have an effect, and I was able to schedule my interview at Gtown the day after my GWU invite.

Again, the email would probably only work if you are competitive to get an interview invite anyway. If money is really a concern, you can definitely try it.

I want to emphasize that this was my personal experience, and if you get a rejection because of it, I cannot be held responsible. 🙂

Website - email says 8/19.

So it better be the website lol

It should be like a month earlier than that but whatever
 
interview on tuesday, getting excited/nervous! anyone got any pointers??
 
For those of you who have interviewed already, what is it like? What kind of questions do they ask?
 
So when I log in to check my status on the secondary website and click on "GU SoM Post-Submission Updates", at the top it says "Interview" but there's nothing about an interview, just information on how to upload my photo and additional information...has everybody been getting this? or if not, what does it mean?

I have it too. I don't think it means anything.

by the way guys if your interviewing and looking for a place to stay I think the best western offers the best deal. They give you 35% off regular room rate if your interviewing at georgetown. I got a room with 2 queen size beds for $78.
And the place is just across the river from georgetown.
 
haha ive been complete since 7/26 without a peep from georgetown... and all ive been told is to keep waiting...
