just got a rejection email. kind of disappointed but kind of glad i dont have the possibility of incurring the huge amount of debt most gtown med grads have.

with 2 interviews at top 15 med schools, i find this process entirely odd and random
 
Got my admissions decision already... Rejected. I am sort of surprised they would rule out any chances of interviewing at all so early (MCAT 35R, GPA 3.56). I know I am not the best candidate in the world, but such an early and definitive decision is leading me to believe I simply didnt make a GPA cutoff (or I missed some sort of huge mistake in my application 🙁). Any insight about Gtown admissions decisions for our class would be appreciated. I am, admittedly, not completely up to date on whats been going on there lately.

Is the rejection only in the email or is it reflected in the status page as well? (I can't check email)
 
I have 2 interviews at top 5 schools and yet I was rejected by Georgetown.

i'm annoyed/sad.

complete 8/18... still haven't heard a word... come on gtown! give it to me!
 
do you guys think acceptances really haven't gone out since before labor day, or is it just that people who did get those acceptances recently haven't posted here?
 
Acceptances? I assume you mean interviews. I don't think they've sent out any invites recently. Let's see if they stick to Thursdays.

yeah, i meant interviews. i don't think they've sent out any invites for the past 2-3 thursdays which seems weird since they seemed to send them out more regularly last year

Do you have any interviews? If you do, it's unlikely there is a big red flag.
 
for those who were rejected, do you mind posting your completion dates?
 
Also complete on that date but no rejection today. :xf: that it implies something good.

3.63 cGPA, 3.70sGPA, 39Q MCAT, UCLA undergrad.

This is kinda weird. I got interviews from Michigan, Pitt, UCI, Emory but I got rejected from schools like Boston and Georgetown which aren't even top 20. This process is pretty bizarre.

I have to say that Georgetown is doing a fabulous job to weed out these very people who get more than one interviews at top 20, and so are extremely unlikely to attend Georgetown. Please, you excellent people, save some precious interview spots for us mortals. Please take your rejections as a form of charity. You are too good to attend Georgetown.

I'm another one complete 8/6 (if that's what you meant) and my status still just says "completed." I'm so scared/nervous now. :scared:

Rejected this morning 🙁.... wow seems like they sent a slaughter of rejections!!!

3.99cGPA / 4.0sGPA / 28M / Completed 8/17

Got an email saying that my status has changed and a decision has been made. The whole "decision has been made" made it obvious it was a rejection. When I logged in to see the status, the first thing I see in bold letters is Rejected.


I need some good news....
 
When I started this process, I never thought that my lack of exceptionally high stats would be an advantage at some schools! Haven't heard anything yet, but my fingers are crossed.

Good luck to everyone who was rejected recently. I echo an above sentiment to keep heart: other schools with higher averages will love you.

lol not sure penn. just have to relax man? (if you're a guy, not sure sorry ha). stop obsessing, just wait and see what happens!! lol no use for sdn peeps coming and saying "oh yeah i think they're coming out" that won't solve anything lol. patience upenn!
 
Shoot, nothing in my mailbox! Oh well, guess I'll be in the next rejection wave. Congrats, Evergrey! Come on, Penn, I'm rooting for you!

ahh be happy you have 2! what are your stats, just curious. you can pm me this if you want. i think i wrote a good secondary for georgetown and was completed mid august. haven't been rejected yet so im still hoping.

don't you get by now that comparing stats to stats means absolutely nothing? georgetown obviously doesn't care about numbers as much (assuming you meet some minimum and don't exceed some maximum) but rather cares more about what the rest of your application offers. don't waste your time with asking about stats, they really mean nothing.

def true of course. however, its a balance of everything!
 
8/18. i mean i have 5 other interviews coming up, so i'm really grateful for those, but georgetown is by far my top choice and somehow i can't manage to be completely satisfied without knowing their decision.
