Thanks a lot guys! I think they went well. Although, this senioritis is killing me! 🙂

But on another note: We only have 3 days left....wowww. We're right around the corner from receiving some great news!

Regardless of what the decision is, if our hearts were attracted to Howard's mission..then greatness will come from us no matter what we do or where we end up.

I pray for all of us too. This is one of the most exciting times of my life- no question!

We ALL represent the changing face of medicine... And when the Fall of 2011 comes, a new wind will blow across the nation.

I have finally mustered enough courage to drop a note on this wall.

First, I'd like to wish you all the very best as you wait to hear back from Howard! I look forward to sending you all a congratulatory note in the next week.

As much as I would love to enroll this year, I applied rather late in the application process and do not think my chances are high. The last time I called HU, the person I spoke with stated that my GPA of 4.0 was impressive but my application had not been reviewed. She said she would ensure its review as soon as possible. That was encouraging to hear but the reality is that, I have given up hope at this point. Hence, I started re-studying for my mcat and plan on going through the whole process again.

This time, I plan on using the berkeley review and was wondering if any of you guys have the BR biology books, either electronic or hard copy versions. I would buy it from their website but I have heard that the processing takes quite some time.

Please PM me if you do.

I think your definitely on the right track with the Berkley books. I used those my second time around for the MCAT and I did exceptionally well!
I even had a couple passages VERBATIM from the Berkley book on my MCAT test! no lie!

In regards to exam crackers, I would stay away from it as a primary study tool and practice those questions at the end when you've exhausted all other options. Alot of my friends were big on exam crackers and the end result was not good.

Also if you know someone who has taken the Kaplan course, pay them to use their online resources along with the AAMC practice tests. They're really useful.

I'm actually reading Dr.D's recommendation, The Wind Up Bird Chronicle... Pretty good, too! Btw, Dr.D is MIA today... Absence noted!

Spent a whole day with family and my significant other :]. Always save time for loved ones 🙂

@ Voyager! I'm planning on taking the animal physiology lab next quarter! Definitely a challenge! But a challenge I'm willing to take 😀!
I took both mammalian physiology 1 & 2 and loved it! I wish you the best in your upcoming test! Rock it buddy!

Well said voyager. I wish I could relax and read Beewee, I spent the whole day working 11-8...I had to work my moms hours she had knee replacement surgery 3 months ago and still no sign of any good results :/ She told me once she hears Howard accepts me (God willing!) shell start feeling better!

Awww! I really hope she feels better especially after you get accepted😉! Hang in there, you're def in my prayers. Btw, did u manage to get the extension from SGU? I really pray we get some news early this week:xf:

I would of never that was possible, I told myself I don't mind coughing up whats left of my bank out AS long Howard still gives me some good news that saaame day...but now I can possibly hear some of the best news of my life and have some money to celebrate! lol (more like pay some of the house bills but still...)

I contacted Ms. Walk and she helped out in encouraging me what to do as well. I have honestly never have met such a helpful, real, and down to earth director of admissions like Ms. Walk. She is in a way what represents HUCM in so many ways--which makes me what to attend there this Fall even mooooooooooooooooooree! HUCM is not just another medical school that sucks your money, doesn't care really what happens to you, then trains physicians who wind up serving in wealthy neighborhoods 9-5 and calls it a day. It is changing society, changing medicine, serving those who REALLY need it, and thinking past financial gains to make a difference. HUCM has compassion.

Awesome DoctorDang! Time spent with loved ones is sacred bro- I definitely agree. Mammalian physiology sounds pretty cool. Did it have a lab component to it?

In my animal phys course, we just finished covering the physiology of ectotherms (lizards, reptiles...)... they have amazing physiology.

QueensFinest, I'm sorry to hear that your mom's recovery is a bit slow. Knee replacements are tough to deal with- I'm sure it puts a strain on all of you. HOWEVER, God is Great. And in this, I have faith that you and your mother will receive GREAT news soon! Stay strong bro.

And I'm very pleased to hear that Ms. Walk was resourceful in your situation. I'm not surprised though- she seems like such a dedicated woman. It's amazing over there...for real.

I'm glad you talked to Ms. Walk! She does seem like a genuinely nice person with strong bonds with the students (remember interview day?). I really hope we hear back soon for your sake!! I've been praying for you, stay strong, bro!

Maybe we can get some Valentine's day loving from our mutual love, Howard?! We can hopefully have our love reciprocated 🙂 and we will be starting a long and lasting relationship with the school of our dreams :laugh::laugh:😍

Everyone, I just want to let you know that I couldn't have done this waiting successfully without you all! I would have driven myself mad!! You've been an amazing addition to this whole experience. I can tell you most schools dont call to reject you or wait list you. Don't want to give you false hope but I really think you got this.
