Accepted too! Phone call from Dean Geneiser (Not my interviewer) followed by e-mail. The call came in around four today, in the middle of one of my finals. I saw the 212 area code and it was TORTURE to finish that exam.

Interviewed 10/21

This is going to be one difficult decision.

GOT THE CALL!

from the dean, who wasn't my interviewer

int on 10/14 ish?

like 4:25-- seems like theyre powering through calls- short, sweet, and on to the next

Sounds like they might be going in interview date order... anyone else get this impression?

ETA: Mattnumbernine beat me to it! Great minds...

if they have multiple people calling they have to split the list somehow.
would assume by letters of alphabet (but don't want to as i am HIGH on that list)
also, a few people posted that they got the call at times that would be a different order than when they interviewed so there goes that theory

Just checked my status randomly: Rejected. 🙁

I was really into this school and would have liked to interview here. Oh well, I'm more biased toward Boston anyway (not like my name gives that away or anything...😛).

I hope they are working late tonight for us mid-November people...

Hey guys. Not at my usual computer -- can you give me the status page link??

I'm sorry, BostonFan. Like your spirit, though. Would you mind if I ask if this was a pre- or post-interview rejection?

Got the email at 3:57. Did not receive a phone call. Accepted!! Interviewed 11/4.

seems like they are notifying in order of interview dates
Hmm I sure hope not. It doesn't seem like they could call all the people up to early November in the span of a couple of hours. Either it's reserved for certain people, or there's some other order.

I guess us mid-Novemberers will be waiting longer. Congrats those who've heard.

Got a voicemail from a Joanne at NYU SoM at 4ish...no status change or email though and it's after business hours now...is Joanne one of the people doing the calls?

It sounds like she is one of the people doing the calls. When did you interview?

it depends how many people are calling and how many calls they need
for example- if they are calling 200 people- then with 4 people handling the calls (we know if at least 3 people) at quick 5 minute calls would be about 4 hours apiece.
Being that the first call was at about 230, i believe, then we have another hour to go of calls.
If they are calling 100 people- then they should be done by now

They probably aren't calling people after hours. I wonder if not getting a phone call by now is a bad thing, or just has no meaning at all.

Again, I never received a phone call, but got an email around when the phone calls were being made. My status also changed on the secondary application page.

Hmm, and some people who got the phone calls didn't get the emails so I'm guessing that they may still hand out some acceptances. I'm going to guess that 95% of the people who don't hear by the end of tomorrow are waitlisted or rejected.

This is how rumors start.

No email, No phone call, No status change = WL/Reject?

I've posted this before - I emailed NYU a few weeks ago asking "...I'm curious to know if everyone who has interviewed so far will receive a decision in December? Or do you only send acceptances?..."

Their response: "All decisions will be made by March 1. Some acceptances will be sent out earlier."

So don't lose hope!

Okay I take that back. Still based on prior years, it doesn't look good especially when it seems a lot of people heard back today (this is assuming that the "to be continued..." in fact continues tomorrow, so if no one hears I'm not worried).

A lot of acceptances are sent out early, but all waitlists and rejections are sent out in March, so statistically speaking the odds are not in favor of someone who interviewed early and does not hear back in the initial batches.

Point taken. I hope I didn't sound harsh. I was wrestling with the idea of putting a smiley in with the rumor thing.

...Anybody else having trouble paying the deposit?

Did anyone who interviewed at the end of November get accepted today?

Phone call today 🙂, but no status change or official email. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to log in and pay the deposit. Congrats to those accepted, and good luck to everyone! 👍

I'm an OOS'er interviewing on 1/14. Anyone have advice on hotels nearby? Thanks.

I personally used the host list that came with my email to stay with a student at NYU. Because the school and admissions office so centrally located, I found hotel prices to be quite expensive. Additionally, you have a chance to stay where most of the first-year students receive subsidized housing (really, really cheap considering where it's located and the apartments are pretty respectably sized).

You should have received a link to the student host list with your interview invitation, but if not, I would suggest emailing admissions to send you the list.

Good luck with your interview!

I think that they definitely meant 10/25 since it says on MDApps that they received the invite on 9/28...and schools don't interview on Thanksgiving I don't think. So it seems so far like the latest interview dates that have received decisions have been 11/10. Ugh, interviewing in late November sucks! I want a decision!
