Based on last year's thread, seems like they first started hearing around 20th of october!

Yeh interviewed a month ago here and also really hoping to hear something (good!) this week!
status page changed with a bunch of extra checkmarks.... under the heading accepted/alternate list student checklist......... but it includes an acceptance deposit and acceptance response... not getting too excited until I actually get the letter in the mail!

ETA: Although it does say "Some conditions for acceptance appear at the bottom or in the text of your acceptance letter." I mean... what else can that mean??
This is true! According to last year's thread, decision letters arrived in the mail pretty much the day after the status page changed..... just being a detective over here 😉
yay!! are we sure it's acceptance vs. alternate list?? i'm afraid to get too excited yet! but do they even put people on the alternate list this early, or is it on hold?

I'm scared to get excited until I actually see good news on paper in my hand lol. I'm not even sure what alternate list means - I'm assuming it's their waitlist, which is different from the hold list.
Basically, I'm counting down the hours now for my mailman to come lol

I interviewed on the 21st and mine hasn't changed either...hopefully they either 1) haven't gotten to us or 2) it will change for the better later!!
Your status will not change on the website until you're accepted--mine is still in initial review and I interviewed a while ago...Just gotta wait for an interview invitation from Downstate! Good luck to getting one! (They don't review applications in any particular order, so don't fret too much about it--if they want to interview you, they will offer you an invite whenever they feel like it, haha 🙂

Sounds like they only released acceptances for the 14th today? Kinda funny that they'd only release decisions for a select few!

i was placed on the alternate list last year and ultimately did not get off.... but when they change the status page its either for your alternate placement or your acceptance, but even if its an alternate placement they are mean and put things on the checklist like acceptance deposit, white coat form and acceptance response. its the same checklist for both alternate and acceptance so until you get the letter in the mail theres no way to tell.
The alternate list is a high priority wait list.

In the big scheme of things, news now or news in a week won't make a big difference, but it'd be nice to know relatively soon (like the kids from last year were able to)...I wonder why Downstate is taking more time this year as opposed to last year, where most kids who interviewed in mid to late Sept knew by now.. Hopefully it'll be worth the wait!!

Oh crap, ya I totally forgot about that letter. That snail-mail letter is pre-interview..I was thinking in the context of post-interview...Ooopsie!
That letter is most likely the "complete" letter.
I got the acceptance letter today too! I interviewed on 9/23
