I completed my application on 9/17 and I haven't received heads or tails of anything since then. Am I done for? What was the length of time it took from submission to hear back from them? And do they send out a rejection notice?

Got my interview invite today! complete 9/24, so pretty good turnaround! 🙂 Temple is pretty high on my list but there were no dates available until January... hopefully there will still be some spots available then!

If you don't mind, would you share your stats?

Still no news since St. Luke's interviews? I've been checking my online status every 10 minutes for the past week!

For those who interviewed on the week of the 18th in Oct, did they say when decisions were going out? I can't remember what they told my group...

I interviewed on the 26th and they said this past Friday was the last adcom meeting until November 19th. They won't meet on Black Friday the next week, either. Then they should start meeting regularly again in December (but I'm thinking not on Christmas or New Year's Eves).

Sucks... we might be in for a long wait.

So I just interviewed here yesterday and was very impressed by what I saw. I wasn't sure what to expect going into it but I was surprised at the enthusiasm of the students, quality of the facilities and general outgoing nature of the faculty. This seems like an awesome place to go to school! Also, my interviews were very laid back but one person in my group said she was grilled pretty hard. I just wish the adcom would meet sooner...

'Correspondence sent' status (aka waitlisted or rejected--either way I'll withdraw) today after a 10/21 interview. OOS 3.63 gpa. I kind of got the feeling it would happen though after my interview with Dr. Wolfson. Everyone raves about the interviews here, but I felt that my interviewer grilled me and asked me subjective questions just to attack my answers (ie: How do you like to study? My answer-I often find studying alone to be more effective than in a group; Response: Oh, because Temple students generally work best in groups...). Also she was 15 minutes late starting and 30 minutes late ending. Sounds like I'm in the minority though.
The school seemed nice enough, but I was a bit weary of the fact that the students were unable to look at their school critically (everyone just raved about being in philly...). Also, out of 10 student hosts I emailed far in advance, 2 responded that they could not host me and the others never responded. --Bad first impression.
People like it though so I guess my experience was an anomaly!
Congrats to accepted and good luck to future interviewees!

Ditto all around, man! I went in liking Temple and came out LOVING it.

So... who interviewed with Dr. Ufberg? I thought he was a pretty cool guy, and I loved that we actually talked about my app (unlike my previous interview).

So the "correspondence sent" status is automatically a wait-list or rejection unless you get an acceptance email?

According to most posts about being accepted, or the alternative, that seems to be the case. Not sure why they don't just say that, but whatever.

haha i've been complete since mid july and Im supposedly still "under review"..
I heard temple is notorious for silent rejections?

Hmmm.. I int. on Oct. 20 and still just have the interview complete status.... Being patient sucks butt.

Just interviewed here today. Got the invite back in August. This place was really awesome! I think alot of people apply to Temple not knowing much about it or thinking it's a backup school, but I would consider it a front runner at this point. My interviews were very interesting. People have said their interviews were laid back, but mine was pretty hardcore. I interviewed with Dr. Richard Kozera, the medical school dean. Lasted an hour and 15 minutes. The second interview was conversational and nice with a 2nd year. Very impressed by the facilities and the happiness of the students.

OK, because I interviewed Oct 26 and was told my app probably wouldn't be reviewed until just before Thanksgiving. I randomly checked the status and saw "correspondence sent". So I guess they were just in such a hurry to give me the boot. <insert nervous laughter>

i interviewed oct 13...still "interview complete" status....

=( Sorry man. I bet the WL gets a lot of movement, especially from OOS students dropping.

But hey, we interviewed together!

I was complete the beginning of September and am also supposedly still "Under Review." I'm guessing a silent rejection/hold as well...

The Temple Admissions Director came to my school. She said they don't consider applications until the person has completed all their pre-recs. I don't know if that relates to you. I'm finishing my last class now, so I assume that is why I haven't been considered.

On nice! Good luck to you!

Nothing has arrived at my house so I'm kinda hoping maybe it's glitch that my status changed.. especially since people who interviewed before me are still at "interview complete", that hardly seems fair for my app to be voted on (or whatever magic the adcom works when they meet) before others.

Come to think of it my status never went to "interview complete" it said "under review" or whatever the pre-interview status was before it changed to the correspondence status.

I'm not entirely sure this is true. I am currently finishing my last pre-req (1 cr lab) and I interviewed and am now on the WL, so maybe it has something to do with how many are left or other situational factors.

So I just realized that of the schools I've interviewed at so far, Temple is the only school that did not hand out pens with the school name.

What gives? 😕

Out of the 10 I've gone to...I think only 1 gave us a pen...But I guess if a 30 Cent gimmick will convince you to go there...

Strange, the ones I've been at all have given out pens. I was planning on using pen quality as one of my deciding factors in selecting a school to attend. The only problem is that apparently, not all schools give them the the interviewees. I suppose I will have to find something I can use to compare schools... 🙄

cost?

I was actually curious about how many schools give out pens. In my experience about 1/3 gave pens. 1 gave out flash drives, and another gave out an around-the-neck ID holder thing.

Blah...I've had the corresponence sent status for a week and a half now and still nothing in the mail..

I was just wondering.... When did you interview? I interviewed on the 20th and my status still just said interview complete. Poop so impatient.

UGH! WHY is it another 11 days before we MAYBE hear anything?! I loved Temple and this is kililng me!

wow thanks a lot! do you know if they do pick ups near the hospital or airport area?

they pick up by the comfort inn suite/lehigh university. if you are staying at a hotel you should ask the front desk. they should have a little brochure.

11 days? Where'd you hear that?

A few people have posted about it above, including myself. They told us at the interview that the adcom was meeting October 29th, but then not again until November 19th, 11 days from now. If you haven't heard anything yet you probably won't until next Friday at the earliest. Then they won't meet on Black Friday, and they should start meeting again regularly for most of December. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are on Friday this year so I'm guessing they won't be meeting on those days either.

I interviewed on 10/12 at St. Luke's. The St. Luke's committee met 10/26 and then needed to meet with Temple after. I called St. Luke's last week and was told that I would hear by the end of this week. That means that they must not have sent out all of their responses from the 10/29 review. Cross your fingers for this week...

Ah. You interviewed two weeks before I did. They also told us that it wasn't likely out files would go to committee on the 29th. Thanks for the encouragement, though! 🙂

Right now I'm dreaming of an acceptance next Friday, which leads to a celebratory date with my husband (ideally, my mom takes our daughter for the night) the next day that involves HP7 and blowing a $70 gift certificate at an Italian restaurant. *sighs happily*

As an "experiment" I decided to have my AMCAS sent to Temple over the weekend. Submitted the secondary earlier today. I will keep everyone apprised of just how much of a disadvantage applying late is or is not. (3.5 undergrad GPA/3.7 grad, 31Q MCAT, 1 first-author publication.) Good luck all! 🙂

agreed! it's so hard to try living normally when the next four years/rest of your life is in the balance :scared:

anyway, good luck to you in the coming weeks... they'd be crazy not to take you!

This assumes you were gauranteed an interview if you submitted on day one...

drawkward- After first pronouncing your name "draw-kward" I just realized your name is actually a palindrome. It blew my mind.

Is this real life?? 😱
