They most likely got flooded with secondaries since they sent them out so late. Give it a few days. No need to panic.

I submitted on Aug 10 and my Committee Letter section in the status page is still incomplete as well! But I know AMCAS has the packet because I'm complete everywhere else.

Should I call and bug them or just wait it out??

Hahha...I was going to say something mean but then I decided against it. Do not call them!!!!!! They take time downloading LORS..until you see that they've downloaded "everyone but yours", then worry. They're BURIED with apps since we all got it at the same time (practically) and sent it in at the same time.

Only call them if you want the secretary to be mad lol.

I got this email today, it seems like it's the "complete" email and your letters are added once your app is reviewed.

I hope this answers everyones questions and concerns!

Dear AceXIII:

Your secondary application has been received and your application is currently entering the audit process.

Your online secondary application will show your letters of recommendation as having been received only after our staff has manually audited your application and manually updated your secondary application record.

Please note: this manual audit process cannot be completed until your AMCAS application has completed the verification process at AMCAS, because AMCAS does not transmit recommendation letters to us for unverified applicants. (Please refer to AMCAS to determine if your AMCAS application has been verified).

There is a brief but normal processing delay (usually not more than two weeks, but sometimes a bit longer during peak processing times) between the time you certify and submit your secondary application and the time your application is audited (and your online secondary record is manually updated).

As we receive many thousands of applications, we require and appreciate your patience.

Thank you very much.

I just noticed a grammatical error in one of my essays. No interviews yet and now I'm freaking out. 🙁

+1 just got that email as well. I think they are saying that they recieved it and now they will upload LORs and check course reqs and stuff. We should expect another "complete" email.

That is exactly the reason why after I submit an application, I never look back at the content again... I am afraid...very afraid...:scared:

Right on. Except when I copy and paste my response for another question and in the process of modifying it, realize some awkward sentence structuring.

Application complete! No email, though, just happened to check my status.

Anyone know when they start sending out interviews?

Not that I should worry, because I feel like I have a snowball's chance in hell at Tufts but you know, nice to know so I can compulsively check my email...

That's why you need to get a smart phone or Outlook/Mozilla Thunderbird on your desktop. In so doing, you can have your email at your fingertips 24/7!

(Even then I still compulsively check my email) 🙁

I was so tempted to get a smart phone with a data plan when I renewed my cell phone contract this summer, so I could check my email ALL THE TIME, but I realized that might be tad unhealthy and would make me into this deranged email-obsessive maniac (more so than I am now).

Wise decision, I'm definitely "deranged" and "email-obsessive" these days!

I too am crazy with email...although I am not sure I am completely at fault for that. I have five email accounts to check (my personal informal email, my formal email--med schools and important business, my school email, and two email accounts for the two clubs in which I am part of the leadership board.)

There are days when my phone buzzes every hour or so lol. It is terrible.

Why don't you have some (or all of them) be forwarded to your main e-mail?

I'm in a similar situation, but I can send e-mails out from my main e-mail as if I was logged in as that e-mail (G-mail lets you do that).

Yea man, the only people I know who check that many e-mails at this point have grey hair and type using the hunt-and-peck method. Have you heard of G-mail? There is no excuse to be wasting that much time. Especially with your phone buzzing and your leadership roles.

I love having my blackberry automatically getting all my emails immediately....not even something I have to check. I just hear it buzz or the email noise go off and I'm like "WOO EMAIL". then I never have to really check it on the computer 🙂

Three of the accounts are gmail accounts--one is over Microsoft Exchange Server (my main email that I use to correspond with schools) and Windows Mobile only allows one exchange account. I could have all my emails forwarded there, but my phone willl make me respond only from my main email address. It's all on my mobile or organized into my Microsoft Outlook or Thunderbird, depending on which computer I'm on, so it's really not a waste of time since my phone collects it all for me-I'm not tabbing through and logging in/out of gmail to check accounts.

Anyone still waiting to be marked complete? I submitted 8/13 and my letters are still not verified.

I personally used it to explain a period where my grades were lower due to an extraneous circumstance.

I explained in my PS why my first semester grades at my first college were too low. (I had an allergic reaction that caused me to fall in love with science and all that good stuff). Is it wise to restate some of that or would it just be beating a dead horse?

Ah, the great debate.

On the BU thread there was a good back-and-forth about whether you should take extra space on a secondary (not specifically DESIGNATED space like on Albert Einstein to explain a W or whatever - like just write whatever you want here x number of characters thing) to explain poor grades or a trend... One person said you NEVER should and the other said you ALWAYS should, both backed by their respective counselors.

I think you should explain IF there is a compelling or unusual story, such as a very serious illness, or family financial troubles, or something like that. I don't think it's worth the space to explain how you matured (as it should be evident in your upward trend and other aspects of your app!).

I think if you explained in your PS, I don't think you need to (unless it is a very good story)....

Oh my story was amazing. Dr House and JD were both there trying to solve my medical mystery 😛

I think I'll just leave it for my PS. I don't want to highlight bad grades and/or try to make excuses. If they feel like I'm truly being honest in my PS then it shouldn't be a huge problem. It was only my first semester out of 4 years.

Thanks for the help 🙂

No probs! I doubt they will worry that much about your performance in your first college semester, especially if you have a good GPA in every other semester.

The only person who brought up my string of Bs (had to take a bunch of upper level developmental biology courses... DID NOT WANT) was my physio professor who wrote me a LOR: "Didn't like developmental Bio, did you..."

Just got the secondary email this morning. Considering my MCAT score hasn't been released yet and my AMCAS application hasn't been verified, I'll put them in the list of schools that just want my money...oh wait, that's every school

Just got the complete email, although I've been "complete" on the status page for a little while.

I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the "complete" email from Tufts. I had thought that first email (saying something about auditing your file) was the complete email, so I thought this last email was a rejection/interview email lol.

I'm going crazy with checking my email... it's only gotten worse since I just got an iphone!

Haha me too. That email was such a tease!!!! I was completely braced for the interview/rejection letter too.

Do schools really send rejections by email? I know you can see status updates on websites somtimes but when I applied last year all actual rejections were snail mailed.

:wow: DEATH. I wish all schools would use email. I always get so paranoid that I did not get some important mail because I have a serious mistrust of the postal system.

Interview invite today!

Secondary completed 8/11
LORs shown as received 8/19
Invite 8/27

I love Boston, so excited!

Yayy, got an interview today. Secondary complete 8/25. That was really fast...

You can see my stats on my MDapps page if you'd like. The first interview I had available (and the one I chose) was Sept. 14th. Interviews are open for almost every Tuesday and Thursday from that day through Oct, it doesn't show any in November yet.

Good luck!! :luck:

blah no love here yet either. I think the interviews this early are mostly reserved for people with crazy good stats. I probably won't know till march or something. Lame.

Aww, thanks Ace. congrats again! 🙂

I agree...these guys have amazing stats..they deserve the early interviews!

Interview invite today (8/27) . . .wasn't even complete 'til yesterday! That was a fast turn around. I am so psyched!!!

I am very excited for all you guys!! Turn around is really fast! I am not complete yet. My LOR packet showed up in AMCAS on the 25th. A few schools updated right away and I am complete in about 6 of them (BU one of them), so I guess I should be complete at Tufts anytime now.. I hope I follow your footsteps brooklyndude!

I actually got rejected from U chicago via email. Maybe this year, things are a little different.

I was marked as complete yesterday, and got an interview invite today.

3.86/35Q

Good luck guys!

Hi all!
I am thinking of adding Tufts to my AMCAS list of schools, but was wondering first what the secondary was like. What are the essay prompts? Is it very time-consuming?

Thank you.
