Yes, I got the email asking for updated contact info too. I suppose this means we should hear something by the end of the year. What is the usual turnaround time from these emails to calls?

I heard back 2 days later so it could be pretty soon. :luck:

Oh wow! Then I guess I should be trying super hard not to drive myself nuts checking this forum 😉 Good luck to those out there who expect to hear soon!!

For those who have already interviewed, could you post what your interview day schedule was like? It seems like a pretty long day.

If you've been invited already, there's an itinerary on the app portal. If not, here it is abbreviated:
945-10AM: arrival and registration

10-12: Presentations: Curriculum/Fin Aid/Student life

12-1: Lunch with students

1-415: 2 interviews, tour, Q and A

This may vary, but it's def a longer day than I've had for other interviews.

That was the schedule at my interview day as well. The only variation is whether you're in the first interview group right after lunch or the second interview group. It probably felt long because the interviews are done during the afternoon rather than getting it over with at the beginning. 🙂 To me, the day kind of flew by.

Hi,

Has anyone been able to contact the admissions office? Every time I call it sends me to voicemail...!!!

thanks

If you've been calling in the last couple of days, it is possible that they are closed down for the holidays... I've been able to get through when I've called... I just use the phone #s posted on the TUSM website.

Did anyone else get the financial aid packet who has been deferred? I got a packet today and was also deferred. I'm assuming it doesn't mean anything...?

Woah! interesting. I've been accepted and haven't received a financial aid packet.

Best of luck with the deferred status. I'm sending you good karma for an acceptance!

Accepted today via phone call! Non-traditional applicant, interviewed 12/2.

I was told at multiple interviews that anyone who interviews (and is not outright rejected) should fill out and submit the financial aid forms so that everything is ready if/when you are accepted. Perhaps that is why?

yeah. I just got the financial aid packet in the mail. i have a deferred status as well.

So no-one from the deferred pile has heard anything huh? So much for "we'll look at you in later reviews". I think its safe to assume we're on the back burner until March. Tisk tisk.

Would you rather they send you regular reminders that you're still deferred? lol jk. But seriously it would be nice to hear if anyone who was deferred has had any change in status.

OK guys, here's the million dollar question:

BU vs Tufts, which school is better? I just want people's opinions on why they like each school -- but lets face it, they're both ridiculously good and you can't go wrong with either.

So I have heard absolutely nothing from Tufts... I received and sent in my secondary in late August and was complete mid-September... what does my lack of a defer email mean?

Should I assume rejection?

Defer only happens post-interview, for now you're just waiting to be reviewed. I'm not sure if they reject pre-interview, but it can take awhile before you get an invite. Just keep your chin up, you're still in the running!

there are still spots open, so I would wait to see what happens in January. Is Tufts your #1 choice? I see you've been accepted into a bunch of other schools, congrats.

BUSM >>>>>> Tufts in every aspect except facilities.

The affiliate undergrads are the other way around tho (by a long shot), so there is something to be said about name value of Tufts.

Can you comment on how many spots are left open?

does anyone know when the committee meets again?? I have been deferred and I am thinking that I now have to wait until February at the earliest?? Or is there still hope for January?

Wow just one day in Feb?? That's so weird... but thanks for the info Ace! 😀

There will probably be one or two last batches of invites sent out. All of the March dates were pretty open and there were quite a few.

Questions for current students:
When does Year II end, and how much time does the school give you to study for Step 1?

What's a typical day of class like and how is PBL integrated into it?

Thanks!

I'm an early assurance applicant and I recently emailed the admissions office to make sure that they had received my secondary application as I never received a confirmation email from them(complete Oct. 28). Dr. Slavin replied to me and told me that they had received everything and would be sending letters out to early assurance applicants in the next few weeks. I don't know what this means for traditional applicants but it leads me to believe that just because you haven't heard from Tufts doesn't mean they have forgotten about you.

I'm convinced that this is a silent rejection. I've yet to hear a peep from Tufts.

I'm in the same boat as well. My application was officially completed Sept 22nd. I just wanted to thank everyone for their posts on this website. I found this thread in my desperate google searching to get SOME idea of when I could expect to hear word, and you all gave me hope!

Good luck to everyone, hopefully we will all meet in August!

I don't know how they treat update letters, but I looked on the interview schedule today. There are some February dates open and a bunch of March dates open so stay hopeful guys!

Thank you for your optimism! I've gotten a response after submitting updates; they add to your file whether or not you've interviewed.

def morgan! nice on the updates. that's the best you can do for the time being. i think some more February spots will open once people get their decisions from other schools. I have no clue how they'll give out the next batch or two invites, but there are still a good amount of interview slots open - Feb and especially March.

Thanks DoctaFuture for all your help! 👍 hopefully we hear back soon although I highly doubt I will be getting an interview from Tufts at this rate...

i've been deferred in October after my interview in September... did anyone who is deferred hear anything from Tufts yet?? it's agonizing just waiting around...
