Central - 77 / 0
Southern - 84 / 0
Northern - 44 / 0
TOTAL - 228 / 0

PGY-2 Neurology Positions

AREA - OFFERED / UNFILLED
Western - 60 / 6

Northern - 171 / 9
TOTAL - 357 / 22

This year has proven to be a really tough match for neurology with a 3.76% PGY-1/2 Neurology unfilled rate!

Does that mean the total number of neuro spots is actually the sum of 228 + 357, i.e., as a US senior competing for both advanced and categ spots, the sum was what you had to choose from?

Also, I don't remember the stats from last year - is this year worse for neuro?

I don't have last year's figures and I can't find it online. But, I guess one can look at last year's unfilled positions list.

Also, I think Rad/Onc and Anesthesiology for 2010 -- just picked two fields -- have a higher unfilled rate (>4%) than neuro.

MedsRus, where did you get this year's regional unfilled numbers? I'm looking for it on the NRMP website, I know it's there somewhere...

Last years totals were
PGY1: 196 offered, 195 filled
PGY2: 385 offered, 375 filled

Thats from the 'Results and Data' booklet of the 2009 match...

Based on this data, that was a 1.9% unfilled rate for neuro pgy1/2 for 2009.

Thanks, BluntDissector. So tougher this yr for folks wanting a 4-yr spot, but "easier" if you wanted an advanced-only one.

Now if someone knows the answer to this other part...

Yes, the total in 2009 was 581 according to the same booklet.

Come on, why the hostility?? Afterall, its "Did I match?" day...

Does anyone have the stats for the regional radiology match results for 2010?

Thanks, Typhoon.

You're THE MAN (or woman)!

Thanks very much for the info. By the way, would you also happen to have the 2009 stats, for comparison? And finally, do you know if they change the final Match stats to reflect the Scramble results?

Yes, I looked into the Results and Data 2009 Main Residency Match by the NRMP and here it is:

PGY 1 Rads - 151 / 2
PGY 2 Rads - 944 / 3

Don't know on the last question, sorry.
