For those going to the Einstein accepted student dinner in Manhattan later this month: The invite says to bring family, would it be appropriate to bring my girlfriend? Seems like it but thought I'd ask others' opinions first.

If the girlfriend is important to you- then bring the girlfriend 🙂

Does anyone know if the official acceptance information/package is sent through U.S. mail or email?

Ok so I got an interview invite for late March 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂. Applied late in the cycle, was complete by mid November so does anyone know how soon after your interview do you get an acceptance/rejection??

PS. Sorry if this was asked already I couldn't find it in the thread
I'm interviewing in early March. So I looked in the old threads and it looks like the people that interviewed March and April got their acceptances/rejections in May. Hopefully we will hear sooner!

last year you could check your status. i just wanted to make sure that this is not the case this year....thank you. frankly, it seemed rather confusing so i hope not.

There is no way that I know of to check your status online.

Hey everyone i just got accepted to Einstein! Anyone else?

I hope someone is really happy after they take my interview spot on Jan 23rd. Just cancelled. Really really really want to go but cost is a big no no for me 🙁.

so is anyone planning on going to the meet and greet events?

For those that don't mind me asking...those of you that got accepted what was the general timetable from the interview to hearing about your acceptance and what were your stats?

I'm gonna be there! Should be fun, nice to meet current and future students.

I really want to attend but it is going to be somewhat challenging to organize.

I'd also love to attend, but seeing as I live in Chicago, it might be a bit tough to justify a trip to NYC just for it haha. C'mon, how come us midwesterners don't get an event?!

I'll be at the Einstein in Manhattan event on the 26th. Originally I wasn't going to be able to go because of class that evening, but by some stroke of luck I was able to schedule an interview in NYC that day so that I can attend both in one long day trip! Is anyone else bringing a parent (or both) with them?

The official acceptance emails were sent out today. I'm not sure about other decisions.

So you're saying if I didn't hear anything back yet, I can look forward to a waitlist/rejection? I interviewed in September.

I'm not sure exactly how their system works, but I interviewed in early November and received the "save the date" acceptance mail ~10 days ago and an official acceptance mail today.

Does anyone know how many service/research scholarships they give out?

Thank You! you're acceptance acknowledgement form has been submitted.

Then in an email:

Your admissions acceptance acknowledgement has been received. Thank you!

For those of us who interviewed in this month, has anybody got any update?😕

I will see so many of your lovely faces at the Einstein in Manhattan event!

and for those who haven't heard back yet, keep playing that waiting game and hopefully i'll see you in the fall 🙂

I wish they would notify waitlisted/rejected applicants. That little glimmer of hope that i'll be accepted is just torture. =/

I'm hoping for a waitlist email at the very least...but I'd rather hear about the rejection sooner rather than later.

Yup...same here. Now that Einstein isn't following the "January 15th" rule anymore, I guess we could be waiting for a while....🙁

I interviewed on the 3rd and haven't received any emails either. I am not sure if people realize this but this waiting game definitely is torturous. 🙁

has anyone heard decisions post-inteview that are NOT acceptances?
Just got a waitlisted email, interviewed 10/26: "I am happy to inform you that the Committee on Admissions has completed its review of your application, and was very impressed with your academic strengths, and your service to your school and community. We have decided to place your application in the "Wait list" category until we reach a final decision, which will occur sometime during the late spring / early summer."

Rejected post-interview...ouch 🙁
Hi,

I'm really sorry to hear that. I've been following this thread for a while and have seen your posts. You seemed to be really anxious to hear from Einstein. Hope you get in somewhere else. Good luck!

Thanks - I hope to get some good news from somewhere before August 🙂

Good luck to you as well!

Ah man sorry to hear that! Good luck elsewhere

Thanks. You too. I shouldn't complain, but still a difficult pill.

I know I didn't 100% click with my interviewer; she was probably the toughest I've encountered this cycle.

i got my waitlist email today too... right before lunch-time. 🙁

is it time to be super aggressive with post-interview LOIs/updates? anyone know how einstein feels about that?

EDIT: jk, i just reread the email. they are cool with updates as long as they are sent via email 🙂 (to anyone else who might have the same q)

Rejected here too 🙁 (Interviewed 10/28) Congrats to those of you who were accepted!

Sorry to everyone who just received a rejection--something that everyone who applies to med school has to deal with (no, they don't get easier). You seem like a great bunch, so I'm sure you'll get in somewhere else if you haven't already. Good luck!

Oh, and congrats to everyone on the waitlist. I know it sucks to have this dragged out longer, but there was waitlist movement last year so there's definitely still hope. Hang in there.

I'm sure you've all seen this, but...

After sending an initial round of acceptances on January 15th, acceptances are offered on a rolling admission basis.

Approximately 400 applicants will be placed on the wait-list from January through the summer months. Beginning in May, the wait-list is re-evaluated and halved. By July, about 50 applicants remain active on the wait-list and by the day of Orientation, approximately 20 remain active. The wait-list is not ranked.

Applicants who have decided that Einstein is their first choice school are encouraged to communicate their intentions with us in writing and, in August, by telephone.

Applicants should be certain that the Office of Admissions can communicate with them after they have left school or are traveling during the summer months. All address changes, telephone number changes and email changes should be reported in case of a late acceptance. Applicants should have a family member or friend designated to receive communications and make decisions in case the applicant is unreachable.

In other words, to answer the question above, Einstein is receptive to letters.
