congrats crystall, what time did you get the email?

Thanks! Nope I didn't receive any confirmation yesterday. I got today's email at 4:51 PM. Good luck to everyone else, things are looking ^ !

Is it common to get congrat email from interviewer? Does Einstein always do it?

Accepted as well here at 451!! Very excited but 12 days to decide! Are you guys gonna try and visit and stay with a student?

I got one as well back in January. It's definitely a nice personal touch to a mostly impersonal admissions process.

For those of you that were asking about financial aid, Einstein was one of the more generous schools (for me). I didn't qualify for any need-based aid at some schools, and Einstein provided me with a subsidized loan and a bit of a general scholarship. It wasn't that much, but I appreciated it! I ultimately chose a larger merit scholarship at another school, though.

Also, congrats to everyone who was accepted today! 🙂

Current students- do families tend to attend the white coat ceremony?

I was wondering the same thing. Anyone?

Also, congrats to all those accepted, and good luck to those still waiting to hear!

For those who have been accepted, there is a Facebook Group for people to chat, exchange questions/answers, and get to know each other.

Looking forward to seeing you all in August!

Yes, families do indeed attend. The ceremony is in the second-year auditorium, and each student can have two people in that room. The first-year auditorium is used for overflow (aka wanting more than two guests). Almost everyone had family there - the few who didn't either had family too far away or had a scheduling conflict. It's a nice ceremony

Accepted yesterday afternoon off the HP waiting list. I thought I should let you all know. I'm super excited, this was totally unexpected!

Congrats! Anyone know if there might be more acceptances going out today or in the next few days? I'm a little nervous because I'm on the HP waitlist and haven't heard anything since I sent in a response saying that Einstein is my top choice.

I hear this year is very competitive at Einstein. Not many people rejected in the first place. But I am sure more will be coming. It is still early. Good luck to you!

Hey! For those accepted, and responded to the Information Requested email, did you express your interest or did you state it was your first choice (like a letter of intent wording). I sent in a letter of intent, and I'm wondering whether perhaps it worked to my disadvantage...sorry for this rather anxious sounding post!

I sent in a one-sentence email saying that i was still honored to be on the waitlist.

I sent in an email saying Einstein was my number one feel like that always helps

I see, thanks for the responses! I'm feeling pretty nervous...I hope there's still hope...

In December, I sent my interviewer a email that I got accepted. She responded with something nice. Then, she sent me another generic email in January after the official acceptance. I am guessing that they have a list of accepted students that they interviewed and wanted to send an email congratulating them.

Hi everyone, I have a question about certiphi.

My background Investigation has been complete, and I have released it. Shall I create a delivery to Einstein, or it the report sent automatically? This process is confusing...😕

Thanks for your help in advance!

I think it sends automatically. I was in the same situation and didn't do anything with it. I called the admissions office this morning, and they said they had my background check, so I think you're ok. If you want to be safe though, you can call them. 🙂 Also they send you a confirmation email when they receive your deposit.

Thank you, YSPharm. Hope to see you at Einstein in August!

Regular priority. I know I probably won't be hearing anything soon, but I'm curious if movement is happening.

Anyone else get housing info? They say the places are unfurnished so what exactly is included a bed and a desk?

fyi, i called today and asked if they've sent out anymore acceptances since the 17th and the woman i talked to said "not that i know of"

My guess is there won't be anymore until the 29th. I'm basing this off of the 10 days the last group of people had to decide plus 2 days to figure out who will be accepted in the next batch.

can any current students give an estimate for how big their rooms are? they sent floor plans but some of the dimensions don't make much sense. are some of the rooms 8.5 X 11? that seems small. . .

I went there two days ago to take a look, got a 2nd year to allow me to see his apartment. The real bedrooms are small but adequate for someone in their early 20s. I lived alone for two years in a real 1 bedroom apartment so for me it is too small. The converted living room into a bedroom is big. But again, you have no control over whether you get it or not. With housing, they may pair you with a second, third, or even fourth year and chances are, they would have taken the big room by then. There is no real living room, but a small corridor/foyer that I saw them but a couch and a tv. Kitchen was small, do dishwashers are anything like that. Dining room is small, but they tried to make it bigger by trying out layout B which cuts away parts of the Living room/bed room to add to the dinning area.

Overall, as the student said, some 90% of the students live on campus because of the cheap price. If I had my way, I would prefer how most of the Stony Brook Students do it, and that is 3 or 4 of them get together and rent a large house in a nice area and commute. Their rooms were massive, they had a full kitchen with granite countertops, full living room, full dining room, and even had a Den or something that they had no idea what to do with it so it was pretty much empty. If I had my way, I would probably go to an adjacent town in Westchester like Yonkers, New Rochelle, Mt. Vernon or East Chester and rent a 4 bedroom house for like $2000 and split it among four students. Unfortunately, 90% of the students live on campus so, it is will hard to get that. Maybe after making friends the first year, I'll be able to do that.

I wonder how expensive storage is since I have way too many things to fit into one of those small rooms. The other benefit of the on campus apartment is that you don't need a car, if you have one, you can park in the garage for $90 per month and not have to worry about Bronx Breakings, and flopping out of your bed and 20 min before class and still make in time.

thanks for the information. were the small bedrooms big enough for a double bed, desk, book case, dresser?

Yeah, the student had about all of those, maybe except a book case. The Converted Living room (which wasn't his) is big, enough for bed, couch, TV, desk, dresser, bookcase and Full or Queen size bed.

Unlike Manhattan, Bronx Apartments tend to be very large and spacious, so seeing these regular bedrooms that small was disappointing. I know I saw that during the interview, but I wanted another confirmation two days ago and I got it.

Officially going to Einstein!! So excited to meet all of you!!

got an email today that made it sound like I would be accepted if "Einstein was still at the top of my list"

I've withdrawn. Good luck to the rest of you still waiting! :luck:
