I remember last year they really never did send anything out and what they didn't really wasn't informative. So they say that it's most beneficial to non-science majors, but really it was great for everyone. Basically it's two weeks where instead of meeting 180 people, its just 50 so you get to bond really well and they organize trips to the beach and bowling and stuff. You also egt to move in early, and settle in and get comfortable with the area. I really didn't want to go but ended up loving it. Oh, and as for the classes, no one really did any of the home work and there are tests but there isn't even any record kept of what you get. Besides the social aspect, it's to give you a quick refresher on biochem, genetics, cardiovascular, and immunology. It helps ease you into med school because a topic that took a month in college takes two weeks in the pre-biochem course, and then is covered again in like 1 or 2 days during the actual year. Give syou an idea of how the professors teach their classes and whatever. Biggest advice is to enjoy this summer, and then if you think you'd like this, I highly recommend it, whether or not you were a science major or had time off. No one who did the program regrets it a all, and no one who didn't felt like they were left out socially or at a disadvantage academically.
