anyone hear of any more acceptances since the 17th?
Nope. I'm guessing there will be another wave in the next couple days, especially since it sounds like more of those "still interested?" emails went out. Although this is just me trying to give myself a sense of...control, for lack of a better word. I've been neurotically checking this thread trying to see if something is going on, as I'm sure many other waitlisters are doing as well. It's also nice to know other people are out there sitting in the same position I am. Good luck!

+1

Im in the same boat. I have been checking this board WAY to often 🙂

haha, did you get that email ipoo mentioned, ruvs?

thanks for the information. were the small bedrooms big enough for a double bed, desk, book case, dresser?

Hey, sorry I won't be able to give a big detailed response today, but just to follow up on the housing stuff and give an example of me and my roommates, the bedrooms are definitely big enough for those things, and they're by far the biggest of the NYC medical school apartments. I live in one of the two bedroom (really 3 bedroom) apartments and have the normal sized room (not the big converted room). I have a full sized bed, a TV stand, dresser, bookcase, desk, a small corner section of a sofa, and a floor rug, plus the built in closet. It doesn't feel cluttered at all and there's plenty of wall space to hang stuff too. My roommate with the other normal size room has a full bed, a desk, bookcase, minifridge, and then he saved the longest wall to line with low two tier shelves. Our kitchen comfortably fits a 4 person round table with chairs. Some of the people with the pushed out kitchen put in a love seat/small sofa, but I'm still not sure how comfortable that is.

And Powerincarnate, you're definitely not going to have the same amount of room as a one bedroom since you may or may not have the living room space and sharing the common areas with two other people. If you are looking fro storage, there's tons of good places in the Bronx (it's like the hub of self storage for Manhattan haha). I personally used StorageDeluxe which was really clean and temperature controlled, but seriously there are tons here that have various low rates with a free month or two. Definitely shop around if you have the time/option. And there are people who move out, but like you said, they usually wait until after first year to get to know people and the area, and you don't even need to go that far. Most of the students who move go to the city. like the upper west side, and some go to Co-op city which you can get really nice places for pretty cheap, and there are occasionally advertisements for open apartments in the lobbies here.

Congrats to everyone who's in and good luck to everyone still holding on. Hope to see you guys next year!

Hey guys, for the record, I was accepted off the high priority waitlist a few weeks back without having received that email about how I ranked Einstein. So it seems there may still be hope if you didn't get one of those. Perhaps. Good luck!!

no. i emailed them a letter of intent, but i didn't get anything from them until today

I am on the HP waitlist, I got an email Friday night asking if I was still interested. Hopefully something good will happen soon!

sounds good! out of curiosity, are you holding an acceptance to somewhere else as well? also, did you tell them they were your top choice? thanks!

For anyone that received a service and research scholarship, would anyone mind saying how much was awarded?

Withdrew. I hope it opens up a spot for one of you. Best of luck!

Anyone else on hp who is still waiting? I was placed on it in the beginning of Feb and still no word. I got accepted to other ny schools but I really had my heart set on Einstein!

I'm on hp list as well. I think they extend acceptances till orientation week so there is still hope if spots are available.

Well, if any of you high priority wait listers are holding an acceptance at UCincinnati and want to trade let me know!

LOL...that is one of the best posts I've seen in a while. Did you get your acceptance this week?

current students, is it possible to move in during weekends? i'm planning on do the intro biochem course and want to move in the saturday before, and just wanted to check that there is a way to pick up keys etc. on weekends when maybe the housing office is closed?

Yeah, it shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you call the housing office and let them know the date your moving in and make sure they have that date on their records. It wasn't uncommon this year for students who moved in earlier than normal to find out their apartments hadn't been cleaned/prepped for move in.

The way move-in works is the security desk in the lobby should have your keys. For moving in stuff, there's no service elevator but move-in trucks can be parked behind the building in a loading area and you can go in through the basement to the regular elevators (much closer than walking in from the street). The loading area is fenced and locked though so someone will first have to go to the security desk, get your keys, and ask one of the guards to open the gate for you to get the truck in.

Just curious if anyone else has been accepted lately. Im still waiting to hear back

ACCEPTED TODAY!! dream come true 😀

For those accepted, how long does it take for you to get housing info?

Congrats! Why are you choosing Einstein over Jeff? Is it the rankings or something else? I was faced with the same decision a few weeks ago so I'm really curious. Housing forms came within a week, btw!

Thanks!!
Einstein was an easy choice for me because I always intended to be in NY, and my interviewer completely sold me when I visited.

Anyone know when we're supposed to hear about summer biochem? I submitted my forms about 3 weeks ago. Thanks!

Anymore acceptances recently? I'm still hoping for my first acceptance..on 5 waitlists >.> haha

Hahaha oh boy, 3 waitlists/0 acceptances here but only Einstein looks like it has any chance at all for me. I got put on HP WL for AECOM way back in March... I suppose 2012 is just a really really bad year to be WL'd

yesterday I received the "pre-acceptance" email that people have been mentioning, and today I got a letter of acceptance! very very excited🙂 I interviewed 3/19 and have been HP since 5/14. They're still giving people 10 days to decide. Best of luck to anyone still waiting, I hope your wait ends soon!!

Super congrats bam! I am still waiting for my first acceptance argh! The wait is killer but I have put my mind to filling out AMCAS 2013.

It is not a pre-acceptance so much as a still interested email. Looks like this.

Dear Paratik,
Thank you for letting us know recently that you remain interested in keeping your application active at Einstein.

We realize that by now you may have been accepted to your first choice school. If so, we congratulate you, and ask that you let us know that you no longer wish to be considered at Einstein.

However, if Einstein remains at the top of your list, would you please let us know that you wish to remain active on the roster of applicants.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. As always, you have our best wishes.

I wish that was a preaccepance email, I actually received it like a month ago :/

Oh well, thanks

Thanks guys! I am definitely accepting. I'm also not on anymore waitlists so it looks like this is finally the end of the road for me.

Sorry if I mislead anyone by terming it a pre-acceptance email though. I guess I assumed that's what it was because I received my acceptance just one day later. My email looked a little different than the one posted above though:

The Committee on Admissions has begun to review applications for the next group of acceptances. At this time, we would like some guidance from you regarding your level of interest in attending Einstein.

We see that you are holding a place at XXX, and understand that it may be your first-choice school. If so, we congratulate you and ask that you let us know that you do not wish to be considered further.

If, however, of the schools at which your application remains active, Einstein is at the top of your list, please let us know.

Please respond to this email by Friday, June 29. If we do not hear from you by then, we will have to assume that you are happy with the plans you have made thus far, and that you are no longer interested in being considered; we will withdraw your name from the roster of active applicants.

As always, we thank you for your interest in Einstein and wish you the best of luck, and the wisdom to make the best choice for you!

Have anyone else heard back from the Research and Service scholarship?

Hi guys,

I was accepted this afternoon off the HP-WL 😀 This is the first and only acceptance I will need so yay! My application cycle has finally concluded and I can finally sleep tonight without thinking about everything too much.

I really hope you other peeps on the WL hear back soon. The wait was really unbearable at times.

Congrats! 1 is all you need! Now if only 1 of my waitlists plays out. Just one please?
