Not to burst your bubble, but I didn't send a letter and it says my app was updated at 9:22pm. Soo I don't know what that means :scared:

Doesn't feel like it haha. I feel if it were good we'd have an II sitting in our inboxes 🙁 Ah well, I have no idea, just a personal opinion. Hope I'm wrong!

Ya Im gonna go ahead and say that the update was probably a system wide one. I also was updated last night at 9:29 after my last update way back in september. Still have the same "your file is ready for review". Here's to hopeing my file finally gets reviewed.

I don't know if it was systemwide as my last update was 11/2. Does this mean they have stopped looking at my file??!! I have no idea what these updates actually mean.
 
hahahhaa I love our group anxiety and panic attack.

Maybe we should stop checking medical school app sites, and enjoy Thanksgiving???

Well I'll be at Disneyland tomorrow, so this will prevent me from spreading any more panic 🙁 But hopefully everyone has a nice day off and eats some good food! 🙂

It really is confusing as to what an update means. I called a week or two back because I was confused as well and the lady told me that an update can occur for different reasons either someone has looked at your online file, they have updated something, or the system has simply resorted and this updated ur file. I asked if it meant no one has looked at my file since it had last been updated in sept and she said that often times an adcom member will print ur file so even if ur status page says ur last update was way back your file is possibly still under review or in a pile for review. I'm not sure if this is helpful or not but figured I'd share what I learned. If you have questions about it just call the office. They are very friendly and will explain the whole thing to you. Hope this clarifies it a bit for you.
 
Got the same 11/22 9:29pm update, my previous update was 9/14....F**K
 
Anyone who interviewed on 11/4 hear back yet? How about the week or so earlier? Acceptances? Rejections? Waitlisted?

Has there been any past mass status updates that haven't lead to rejections?

Are you allowed to petition a rejection?
 
I still haven't heard if I was rejected, but I guess they don't pre-interview until Dec/Jan.

I'm thinking it means not a whole lot.

Admissions said it would take 6-8 weeks to hear a decision. From earlier posts people seemed to hear in about 6 weeks.
 
Interviewing Saturday December 3rd, anyone else going that day?

Hells to the ya Zags. I got my interview invite a bit ago, luckily I coordinated it with University of Nebraska Med Center, so I have UNMC on friday December 2nd, and Creighton on saturday the 3rd.

Best of luck dude, when were you conplete to creighton? I wasn't complete until mid-October and haven't heard a peep since. I improved my app in all the ways Dr. Quinn said I needed to so I hope I get in this time lol. Love the school
 
Actually, my application was complete on November 4, then I got an invite via email on November 8th. I actually had to call the school, because I had gotten my materials in way in advance, but as it turns out, they forgot to confirm my letter of rec.

But they do seem to favor re-applicants, I know that probably half of the people who interviewed with me last year had taken between 1-4 years off either due to graduate studies or re-application reasons.

I'm sure you will be hearing from them very shortly, and it will be an awesome feeling. Creighton is certainly in my top school list, right after University of Washington (like every other washington state resident lol). For me, the cost of Creighton is totally worth it because of how awesome the students and professors are there.

Hmm maybe I'll give them a call tomorrow and see whats up because my app has been complete for quite a while now and not that everyone's admissions process is the same, perhaps I am due for another invite as well! Thanks for the heads up

That's awesome! You will not be disappointed. Look for me, I'll be the one white knuckling my interview packet and shaking from excess caffeine consumption:laugh:
 
Hey guys, I have a pretty urgent question. Does anyone remember the final 3 interview days for Creighton in December/January? I have a good friend who is trying to coordinate this interview trip with another interview. The reason that I ask is that they should be getting an invite soon, but finding out potential dates earlier could knock down the cost of plane tickets etc. THANKS!

I'm sure if you called the admissions office they would tell ya, would make the wait a lot less

I called Creighton about these "updates" and I was told they are unrelated to your application.

For those interviewing this weekend, could you slyly ask what interview date the committee is working on? 😛 Carolyn mentioned that they were around the beginning of Oct when I interviewed (beginning of Nov).
 
After no change to my status page for about a month, I was "updated" again this morning. I wish I knew what that meant!

Same here, but I hadn't been updated since early July.

There was a post earlier in this thread from someone who called the admissions office and asked about the updates. They were told it had nothing to do with your application so I wouldn't read too much into the random updates.
 
I got updated today as well. No sign of an II, or rejection so it might just mean nothing.

Hey the day went well for me, hopefully it was the same for you bosh. I was the only one not wearing a black suit, so you might be able to remember me lol.

6-8 weeks though... boo to that

Thanks on the help for my friend guys, she called the same day that I posted my question, and was offered an interview for this coming weekend. Awesomeness

I just had a very nice phone conversation with the Assistant Dean of Admissions (although his name eludes me at the moment). I've been complete for about 1.5 months with no communication and was starting to get worried that I might get lost in the vast sea of September/October applicants. He was very reassuring, and certainly made me feel more confident about my pedestrian stats. I think that Creighton really likes their applicants to keep in touch, as it shows they are still interested. For those of you that have been complete for a while and are really interested in Creighton, I would suggest sending in periodic update letters and utilizing the weekly "Open Door" phone opportunities to speak to members of the adcom. Good luck to everyone else in a similar position and I hope we all receive an II soon!
 
Got an update on the website this afternoon. Also no longer shows that my letter of recommendation has been received, that whole section is gone...wonder what that means...

Garlond Jarmon and I played phone tag a bit yesterday when I called to ask about my app, as per the Open Door policy they have. Called back today to say the committee reviewed my app and wants to interview me, so I should get an email next week with dates! SOOO EXCITED! :soexcited:

Did your application get updated recently on your status page??
 
Can someone please point me to the open door policy everyone keeps talking about? I tried to find it on the admissions website but cant see anything. Thanks!

Just call the admissions office at 402-280-2799 on Thursday at 1:30 CT. You have the opportunity to talk to a couple of members of the adcom about your file.
