Seriously, SDNers calm down. Most student interviewers turn in their evaluation within hours of the interview, and once they've done that their entire involvement in your evaluation/application is complete, as in donzo, final, kaput! If a student interviewer doesn't write back after an interview, please don't freak out, don't read into it, it doesn't mean ANYTHING. Medical students are busy and sometimes messages get overlooked.period.

If you don't mind me asking, when did you get the status change to "a final decision has been made..." you do live in PA correct?
I'm not positive, it was over a week ago. I wasn't expecting a change very quickly so I was not checking everyday. I do live in PA.

yeh when I got mine the same thing happened....I scheduled before the email and it was fine...good luck!
I had my interviewed scheduled before I ever got an email inviting me to it (I checked my status religiously, as I still am post interview) but you will eventually get an email

2 cycles ago, I wasn't checking the status page, and I had an interview invite sitting in there from September to February. I checked my status on Feb and interviewed in March. Never got an email from them. Waitlisted. Could that waitlist have been an accept had I interviewed in Oct instead of March? Well, I guess I'll find out in 1-15 weeks when I get a decision for this cycle!
I immediately checked my status out of fear after reading this. No change.

Wow. Why is my fee waiver so late when I submitted way back in Sept?Interviewed today. I don't know about those who have interviewed but the day was so relaxing. Everyone there was so nice and laid back. My interview was probably the best and most enjoyable of my life. Really crossing my fingers here.
Btw, was it ever decided if there's a difference between "final decision made" and "decision made" or are they equivalent?

All (anecdotal) evidence suggests that final decision= accept or reject, while decision=waitlist
that story so freaked me out that I have carpal tunnel checking my status pages! i really hope you get some good news this cycle............

haha - thanks, me too. I've basically dedicated the last 3 years of my life (post college) to getting in to med school, so here's hoping. Yeah, let my drexel story serve as a cautionary tale, but if you are checking your status more than once a month, you should be just fine 🙂

Oh, good. So maybe that means I just got it recently? I hadn't checked my portal in like.. over three weeks or so -- other schools that have extended interview invites to me have called/sent e-mails, so I thought this was common practice. Not to mention the Drexel portal is sort of annoying to navigate (hate that it makes all the windows smaller when you click to see your decision). Regardless, I'm excited! 🙂 Wish I didn't have to wait to long to interview though! So. Much. Waiting. 👎

But you're the first I heard of the oct 11s that has a decision... so mine must not be too far off. How terrifying.
I hope its a good final decision! I got that status on Tuesday I can't wait for the mail as well...I am really nervous
When I interviewed with the student, he said a final decision is much better than a "decision". Hopefully it is the good news we are all waiting for.
